“Sarah and her pack did awesome!!! Can't thank her enough for taking in Winnie on such short notice. When I picked up Winnie I was taken back at how much Winnie had bonded with Sarah in such a short period of time. Sarah was aware of Winnie's IBD issues and updated me on how she did. I really appreciated her for that!!!! This family definitely loves dogs!!!”

“Brandi was WONDERFUL. She was so welcoming and accommodating despite us intruding on a holiday weekend, and so welcoming of our Pup. Throughout our days of doggy daycare, we received updates and pictures and video of our Piper enjoying her stay and new friends, and at the end of each day, we received a very happy (and very ready-to-go-home-and-nap) dog. We used her back-to-back for two days, and Piper recognized she was going got another visit on Day 2 when we turned down Brandi's road, and immediately started crying excitedly in anticipation, all but pulling me out of the car when we opened the door! It's a shame we're not closer to Janesville for regular use of booking, but if we're ever needing to go through the area en route to our destinations, Brandi will be our first choice for daycare or boarding.”

About: I've been taking care of animals my whole life. I house and dog sit for a variety of people based on recommendations. I am very passionate about animals and will always take very good care of them. I am currently only working as a pet sitter. I love pet sitting because I get to meet pet parents and care for a variety of different animals. I am a stay at home mom looking to combine my love for animals with be able to stay at home with my daughter. I own 3 cats and two dogs. I have experience grooming both dogs and cats professionally. I clean the cats litter once a day. There is always water available for all my pets. I provide enrichment exercises throughout the day for my dogs such as lick mats, puzzles, and toys. My dogs also have access to the fenced in back yard as well.

About: My livelihood is animals. I love my pets as much as my children and will care for your pets as if they were my own! From a young age, I bonded with animals. My grandparents (in their 67 years of marriage) always had 2 dogs and 2 cats, therefore I helped care for so many of them for decades. I learned a lot about pet care from my grandfather starting at age 5. My grandparents had a spaniel with a seizure disorder and as a young teen I was taught how to care for him. One of my saddest moments was having to say goodbye to their Doberman when I was 13. I had him in my life since age 5. They also had a Great Dane who wanted to be a “lap dog” They had a German Shepherd, Labs, and small dogs. They once found a feral cat and he was very leery of humans. After 2 years of me not giving up, he finally sat on my lap and allowed me to pet him. He never let anyone else ever touch him. I have 4 of my own dogs. (Frenchie-Boston, Mini-Aussie, and Stud Pug, and one of his “grandpugs”) My 17 year old rescue Chihuahua passed away July 2024. We also have a tuxedo cat and we have a Bearded Dragon and Uromastyx lizard. Although I do prefer to come to your home for extended stays, I have taken dogs into my home for a Holiday/long weekend or when my repeat clients need to be gone for an extended time. My top 5 clients leave their dogs with me on a regular basis and my pets get along with theirs. We have a good sized fenced in backyard and live in north Janesville in a safe, residential neighborhood. We have a 5 bedroom home with 2 of the bedrooms downstairs. When I have clients dogs in-home I typically “move” downstairs to sleep and spend time in our living room down there. (My husband is a busy VA Physician so goes to sleep early upstairs) He is off every Sat-Sun-Monday so helps me with my business. My 18 year old son also helps and is home often, and my daughter in Middle School helps on weekends. I have done “doggy day care” once in awhile in my home as well, but with week day dog walks and “drop-ins” to go to, I’m in and out. I have my cameras so when I’m gone can watch the dogs on my phone. When I come to you to care for your pet(s); I house sit. I have a motto to make the home better than when I came in. I clean for no extra charge, change cat litter daily, water plants, bring garbage in or out, check mail, can bathe your dogs, and on my last day I wash the bedding and towels I’ve used etc. I do drop ins and will walk or jog/run your dogs or service any of your pets for any kind of pet care that you need. I run 5k’s and 10k’s so have had a few clients with high energy dogs that we’ve run the entire dog walks. I have many years of experience with all kinds of animals including special need pets and exotic ones. I have a repeat client with a 3-legged dog for example. We took care of a snake in our home for a friend for 4 months. Also, a Hedgehog and Rats. I’ve also been to 6 homes in Rock County where I took care of their chickens and a few times farm animals. I do have a pet sitting website and many references. I do consider my business Cindy’s Canines & Critters “family-operated.” My husband and I have yearly background checks as we coach youth basketball and soccer for the YMCA. I have pet insurance. My aunt joked I am the “dog whisperer” and like Dr. Doolittle as I always have them following me around :) I also have an intuition to feel at times what a dog/cat need. I went to a local shop and the woman was caring for a friend’s dog. The dog kept coming to me in the store. Had me sit and she kept sitting on me. I knew she wanted to “tell” me something. I scratched her butt and saw flea dirt. The owner of the shop asked for my help. There have been things like this with animals since I was a kid. I am available during Holidays. My son Sam is good at helping me walk dogs if need be. He also picks up dog poop, mows lawns, shovels snow, and cleans yards. If I’ve been booked, he’s then stayed in homes caring for cats and dogs for my repeat clients. I am readily available. I take last minute jobs typically as well. I get booked faster May-August. September and October are busy, and November through April somewhat slow down. Usually I can squeeze in a 15-30 minute last minute request for drop in/dog walk. I offer dog walks, $15 for 15 min or $22 for 30 min. I offer a senior discount to those 62 and older. I offer drop in visits as you desire for $33 for an hour to spend time with your pets (which could include a walk and food, water, play time, and clean up). If you need to pay less than what I charge and I’m not too booked, I would accept that. It’s rough times we are living in. I may charge a bit more than some other part-time pet sitters, however I do this 7 days a week, pour my heart into this, and I have decades of experience. I will give you top notch care. If you are gone more than 1 day and your preference is for me not to stay in your home, I can typically come 3 to 4 times a day (if you live in Janesville) and we can work out a rate that is daily/weekend or weekly instead of the drop in visit charge. I have worked with “hard to handle” dogs and big dogs. I refuse to raise my voice to an animal and although I am not fond of the “shock” setting on the E-collars, I would if you insisted but prefer the noise or vibration settings. I prefer redirecting and distraction or a “time out” in kennel or other area. I have worked on potty training pups using the “on my person” method (leash clipped around waist and the pup goes where I go) I’ve done a bit of dog training with pups, but definitely don’t claim to be “professional” trainer, but I do have a very good intuition knowing how to work with a dog. I can handle any sized dog. For example, I’ve walked 2 dogs at once for 4 years, one is a big Alaskan Malamute, and I can easily walk both dogs at once. I’ve cared for elderly cats, more than one cat I’ve given insulin injections, watched Siamese cats, kittens, and even a few strays. I can’t bring any cats into my home. I’ve brought a few of my clients dogs to vet appts and quite a few to “Big Sweeties” for grooming or nail trims. Although we live in a way where our pets are our family and can “run the house” and go on beds/furniture etc. and our cat and dogs sleep in bed with us, I respect what you want in your home. I am more than used to most of my clients having cameras throughout their homes as we do, I just ask at the time of hiring to be informed if there is one in a bedroom I will be sleeping in. I’ve worked with puppies who whine at night and need extra care and also dogs with separation anxiety issues and feel I’ve learned good methods over the years. I’ve cared for dogs that have belly bands/dog diapers, especially older dogs. For house sitting with your pet(s) I can bring my own blankets/pillow if you prefer. I always bring my own food and drink. I have slept on couches, in guest rooms, basements, even a kid’s bedroom. I am very flexible. I do ask for notes of feeding schedule, how many potty breaks, bed time, preferably a few numbers of family/friends when you leave for a week or 2, in case of emergency and also your Veterinarian #. I know I have many pictures in my album… I’ve cared for so many pets I wanted to brag on all of them. I love each and every one of them!! If you stuck around to read all this I thank you and hope you consider me! Since I do this 7 days a week, I do have week day dog walks and drop ins, so if I am staying in your home overnight, I cannot be there 24-7 but can be there much of the time. Monday, Friday, and weekends are less busy. My dogs get along with all dogs, however if you are wanting to keep your dog in my home, I do a trial visit for an afternoon to ensure your pet gets along with mine. If you crate train, I have a huge kennel downstairs and 2 smaller ones. I’ve also had clients dogs sleeping with me (or my kids) in our beds :) I go to bed around 11 and am up at 6 so can let them out potty late and early. My husband and 2 children also help out a lot.

Also in the last 5 years my late moms dog rosie who was also adopted. Dogs are great.

“My dog had a great time staying at Tina and Cameron's for a fun-filled day of daycare. She enjoyed two walks, got to run around in their large fenced in backyard, and was able to socialize with their two dogs! Tina was so sweet and I felt really comfortable leaving my fur baby in her care. You can tell right away that her and Cameron are extremely knowledgeable and have a lot of experience in caring for dogs.
