“Teona & Louelyn took great care of my golden retriever. They have a separate, climate controlled room for the dog and they even have cameras monitoring the room. They communicated well and informed me that my dog was doing great. Drop off and pick up was very smooth! I noticed they have 2 dogs and chickens in the backyard so they love & care for animals.”

5. Christene H.
“Christene welcomed Hugo into her home and worked her magic to help Hugo open up and make him feel comfortable for the few days he was with her. Hugo eventually got less shy and was playing with Buster outside. It’s been a wonderful experience for Hugo to be with a family while hugo’s humans went exploring the area!”

8. Brittany J.
“Brittany watched our 2 dogs when we came to the area from out of town. She was very detail oriented, flexible with our schedule, and quick in her responses. I felt comfortable and confident in letting our “special medical needs” Boston Terrier stay with her as she was willing to learn/provide whatever care he needed. I’d let my pups stay with her again anytime- highly recommend.”

About: I have been around dogs all my life, and have learned how to properly train them through experience and good mentors. I also have watched much of The Dog Whisperer & other training videos online. I’ve seen critiques of Cesar Milan, with people saying he’s unnecessarily enforcing dominance roles; I only support dominance hierarchies to the extent that it helps the dog. If a dog believes they must be in control because they don’t have a good leader, they will be more stressed out which is unfair to the dog. I will never be unnecessarily rough with your pet, but I may do exercises like leash training to remind them that I am in control, and they don’t need to be in extreme protector mode. I have used this experience with success on friends’ and acquaintances’ dogs, as well as my own. He sits for over a minute until I tell him to Come, for example. Our housemate had a dying dog and I was there alongside him helping her care for him until his last moments. I also believe in reincarnation which helps me really see and have extra patience with each dog as I see them as a soul who is here to learn and experience. My husband and I have a relaxed lifestyle that allows us to be home most days other than side jobs and catering shifts on the weekends. We are in the midst of moving a couple hours east of here, albeit very slowly, so if your pup is with us for a while there’s a chance he or she will get to see the rural area of Middlesex VA and interact with some chickens! Both areas are far away from a main highway or there is a good fence. I have two friendly dogs, a Pomeranian and a whippet mix. We let them in and out as they choose, and have a couple acres for them to run and play on. I love going for runs and walks and would happily bring your pup along, depending on his or her energy level. I have a healthy understanding of how to keep a healthy leash contact with the dog, and if need be, I am quite strong if I need to keep the dog from running.
10. Leidy A.
“Leidy is great! I felt really safe and comfortable leaving my dog with her. She gave us plenty of pictures of our dog Stella and it was really comforting since this was our first sitter in the NoVa area. My wife and I will definitely use Leidy again in the future.”
11. Abigail L.
“Victor and Abigail were awesome and took extra steps to make sure our anxious pup had a great time. They sent us videos and pictures every day, which we really appreciated. After his first day in daycare, my dog was very excited to return on the following days. He seemed to really like the folks who took care of him and was nice and tired once I picked him up. Staying with these folks was definitely a mini vacation for my dog!”
12. Lynn P.
“Such a great help. Very responsive & caring.”
13. Tanisha J.
About: Hi my name is Tanisha. I am a military nurse. I have taken care of dogs most of my adult life. I recently had my dog pass due to medical conditions. She had been with me since 2010. Since her death I’ve decided to open my home to taking care of others pets because I’ve experienced the struggle with finding quality pet care. You can count on me to treat your pet like my own. I have a 12 year old son, that also love animals, so between the two of us your pet will get plenty of love and attention. Your pet will be allowed to go anywhere in the house they choose, but I do not allow them on the furniture. Your pet will sleep inside of the home.
14. Liz H.

20. Ryleigh V.
“Ryleigh has been an amazing pet sitter. My skiddish dog absolutely adored Ryleigh. She was always on time, very loving with my dog and cats, and very thoughtful. She would pick up around the house if she noticed anything that needed attention even though that was not part of her pet sitting duties. Ryleigh has been our go to pet sitter for the past 2 years and we look forward to many more years with her.”
