“Kelsey was wonderful with my 7r old cat! He's usually very wary of new people, but he was hanging out with her and cuddling within days. She gave the perfect amount of communication and photos, with detailed updates and response times. You can tell she loves animals and does her best to make them comfortable. 100% satisfied.”

About: Lifetime of experience with dogs and cats, 5 years of furster care for puppies (training, love, and preparing them for their forever homes), and puppy love. I work full time, but making sure they start and end their day with love is important. Walks in the evening and weekend adventures are options. I have a fenced in yard for watching my parents animals. My own never miss a day of snuggles and play. If your furbaby stays at my home it will need to be cat friendly and would be safe downstairs where there is plenty of room to play. Giving all animals a safe space.
About: I am in school for dog training and behavior, I did volunteer work at a bird rescue, animal shelters, I also was a bather for petco for a bit before I had to move. I’m working a part time job mainly from 5 or 6 to 10 like 3 or 4 days a week I have open availability other then that I can feed and give medicine to pets, can also train to walk on leash and not pull. And other easier trainings. Can clean up after the pet as also
About: Ive always been a lover of animals and my family and I have rescued multiple cats and dogs since I was little. Ive learned how to take care of even pregnant cats. I usually wake up around 8 am to feed my cats and clean their litter boxes at around 10 am. I come back at around 12 pm for a little snack and by 8 pm they have dinner and I clean the litter box for the second time. I keep a clean environment so that my cats are able to roam freely and I dont have to worry about them getting sick. Cats can get bored as well so I play with them and even talk with them.
“I can always rely on Lori and her daughters to take wonderful care of my dog. I know my dog gets excited whenever Lori is visiting. My dog loves going on walks and I can count on Lori to take her for a walk and then play with her in the backyard. I highly recommend Lori.”

“Brianna is the kitty whisperer! One of my cats is super shy and doesn’t always come out when sitters come but she came out on Brianna’s first day! Brianna was super communicative, asked a lot of great questions to ensure she handled my babies needs with care and took the best pics of them both. We will definitely use Brianna for our future needs❤️❤️”

“Ranesha communicated well and quickly. She did everything as requested. I can’t thank her enough because my request was last minute. I’m confident my pups and I have met our forever friend”

“Audrianna was amazing dropping in to feed my fur babies while I was out on business for a week. Appreciate your frequent updates and the pictures of my pet while I'm away missing them. Thank you!!”

About: I fell in love with dogs since the age of 4 after being terrified from my first encounter. But after a few more curiosity approaches, I went from being afraid to loving every dog I came across from walks and loving every dog I came across even on the roads. No matted fur or patches will stop me from giving it affection (ask my girlfriend about the dogs I pet on our trips lol) Any moods the fur baby gives I try to match so we both can say (or bark) “yeah this was a great day…now what about treats!” Tend to every need I can, have bathed my own fur baby but no experience with nail trimming (not forcing to do something they don’t like) and always love seeing that wide smiles either from play or from my belly scratches! Working full time so will really be available on every other weekend with some days in the week. Just message me and I’ll let you know my availability! Never want to miss meeting another fur-ones! Constant monitor when at play in case someone decides to eat something they had no business. Will always check area for random loose trash that might look to appetizing for the fur baby. We’re not getting no upset tummies in this (or your) household!
About: I’ve cared for dogs through every stage of life, from raising puppies to supporting senior dogs with medical needs. My last dog was with me for 15 years and eventually became blind-she was also epileptic, so I’m very comfortable with patience, medication routines, senior care, and providing calm, attentive support to anxious or aging pets. I currently have a well-socialized 2-year-old Mini Schnauzer that I raised from 8 weeks old, so I understand the importance of structure, consistency, exercise, and positive interaction. As a retired military veteran, I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and home full time, which means pets in my care receive a lot of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day. I genuinely enjoy creating a calm, safe environment where pets feel comfortable and loved while their owners are away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I’m retired and home full time. I have a very flexible schedule, which allows me to provide frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, feeding, medication support if needed, and lots of supervision throughout the day. Because I don’t have children or a demanding work schedule, I’m able to give pets consistent attention and maintain a calm, low-stress environment. In my home, pets have access to a safe, calm environment with a fenced yard for supervised outdoor time, exercise, and potty breaks. I also have a friendly 2-year-old Mini Schnauzer who enjoys the company of other dogs. I follow each pet owner’s instructions closely regarding feeding schedules, walks, routines, medications, crate preferences, and exercise needs. I understand how important consistency is for pets, especially when they’re away from their owners. In a client’s home, I focus on keeping pets comfortable by maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible while also making sure they receive attention, affection, exercise, and attentive care.
About: I provide personalized, loving care tailored to each pet’s needs. I have experience with puppies, seniors, and pets with special medical needs, including caring for a blind, diabetic senior dog and administering insulin. Whether it’s walks, playtime, meals, or special routines, I’ll make sure your pet feels safe, happy, and loved—just like one of my own. I’m available full-time to care for your pets, so they’ll always have consistent attention and companionship. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feeding, or administering medications, I can fully integrate their care into my day. Your pet will never feel rushed or neglected—they’ll have a dedicated caregiver who treats them like family. I provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where pets can feel at home\. My home has a fenced backyard for supervised play and exercise, while pets spend most of their time indoors with me\. I follow their usual routines and provide plenty of attention, playtime, and affection to keep them happy and secure.
“Allyson made me feel comfortable with her watching Bentley! She took care of him even though he pottied in his crate. Grateful for sitters like you Allyson! Will be booking again??”

“Thank you so much for looking after my dog. This is the first week, and he had a rough week, but it seems like he has adjusted to you well! We will continue this relationship!”

“Michelle did a great job checking on my dog Charlie! She was right on time with the visits. She also communicated and sent several pics. Charlie looked like he was having a great time!”

About: Hi there! My name is Kiara Bunton, and I have been a lifelong animal lover with 8 years of professional pet-sitting and handling experience. Ever since I was young, animals have been my greatest passion. With no pets of my own, I am giving your pet all my attention. I am trained in Pet CPR / Pet First Aid / administering medication, so you can rest easy knowing your furry family members are safe and secure. During my visits or stays, I focus on keeping your pet's routine stress-free, offering plenty of walks / belly rubs / playtime, and sending you photo updates every step of the way. “Yvelene was so gracious and kind to care for my Ori during an emergency situation. She was communicative, she followed the instructions given, and was available within mins of me reaching out! I am so appreciative and grateful.”

Lori was absolutely amazing. From the moment she arrived, you could feel how caring, loving, and genuine she is. Our dogs connected with her right away, which meant a lot to us. She handled them with confidence, patience, and so much warmth. It’s clear she truly loves what she does, and it shows in how she interacts with both pets and people. We had a great experience and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and compassionate.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
