I have raised orphaned litters of wild babies such as opossums, and racoons for wildlife rescue centers to be released back into the wild. I have also bottle-raised orphaned litters of puppies and kittens and found them homes for animal rescues. I have 40 years of experience owning many different species including dogs, cats, birds, reptiles (especially bearded dragons, tortoises, turtles and snakes), rats, guinea pigs, mice, ferrets, hermit crabs, fish, tarantulas, horses, goats, chickens and lots of different exotic pets. I will also take care of babies being bottle-fed. I have owned horses for 35 years and can bring experienced, knowledgeable care to your barn while you are away. About: I own a 7 acre property that is a short drive up Fickle Hill Rd in Arcata! It includes a private trail with access to the community forest and a very large fenced in yard. I have a 1 year old female German Shepherd (Sabine) who is very well trained and LOVES to play with other dogs. I’ve been working with animals my entire life but started officially dog sitting and walking about 10 years ago! I’ve worked with dogs of all sizes and personalities and feel comfortable and confident in my care abilities. Locally I have done in home care both long term and short term. Now that I have this large property I would like to do more of a doggy day care! I am capable of providing training, grooming, as well as daily exercise and enrichment activities! I am free Monday - Thursday every week as I work from home as a ceramic artist. On the weekends (Friday - Sunday) I work as a waitress. I offer care from my home where I have a very large fenced in yard with plenty of space to run around and enjoy the outdoors. As well as a large dog friendly home for those rainy days. All plants and trees on the property are dog safe! I also have a private trail that is connected to the community forest trails where I take Sabine (my dog) for daily walks. Sabine also loves the beach so we do take weekly trips out to the dunes in Samoa! I’m a dog lover and feel that I am very attuned to understanding the way they communicate. My back yard is a safe, fenced-in area where your dog(s) can play with mine for extended hours, in which there is a covered, clean area out of the rain. My 2 year old shephard is loving to all animals, while my one year old shiba inu can be a sassy little girl. Unfortunately, aggressive dogs are too much of a liability for me to have at my home.

About: I've had animals all of my life. My parents kept getting me more animals because they said as long I was taking good care of them, then I could get more. I would keep journals about their well being( Funny, I know) The point is, I love animals. I have had dogs,puppies, cats, lizards, hamsters, chickens, horses, ferrets, and chameleons, I have 2 dogs of my own and they are my children. It's of the utmost importance to me that any animal under my care feels very loved, and taken care of. I know it can be traumatic being away from your animal, and it can create anxiety. I will do my best to make sure your baby is feeling good and happy! I currently make my own schedule and own my own massage therapy business. The further in advance I know about the sitting job, the more of a chance I will have of being able to clear my schedule for it. My schedule is pretty flexible! I will follow the directions you give me to a T. I know our animals get used to routine, so I will do my best not to disrupt that routine. I am hands on, and want to make sure any animal I care for feels loved and paid attention to.

About: Dogs have been apart of my life since I was 8 years old. Personally I took care of a Boston terrier and that is the only breed that Ive worked with in my house. Other breeds that I’ve had experience with our my neighbors dogs including different types of Pitbulls and huskies. I am very comfortable with larger dog find them to be huge lovers. I am welcome to any size dog i know I can handle and take care of them based on my personal experience with my own pets and neighbors pets. My neighbors pets have been in my life longer than the Boston terrier that we got as a family dog. My family has now had three Boston terriers throughout my lifetime. I am currently a full-time Cal poly Humboldt student, but I have 1 to 2 hour breaks between most of my classes and I’m free in the evenings for dog walking throughout the day. I am currently moved out of my parents house so I don’t have any pets in my home but I have a fenced off backyard and is spacious living area if they need to stay overnight that is OK. I have plenty of places to walk right outside of my home. In the clients home I would be able to do any pet care that they may require or want such as walking be brushing. I have had so much trouble trying to find fabulous places for my own dog to stay, that I thought I would open my fabulous property and big heart to more animals who owners need vacations and work options. We do not let our dog up on the furniture but he has a comfortable bed and yours will too!

About: Iv'e had and taken care of pets my whole life. At one point, I had over 10 pets including chickens, dogs, cats, hamsters, hermit crabs, fish, etc. I honestly could't imagine my life without these cuties. As of right now, I have a very open schedule besides from 9AM-12PM on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays when I have classes at College of San Mateo. I am available early in the mornings, throughout the afternoon, evenings, and even overnight if needed :) I make sure all pets are in a safe environment with safety hazards out of reach and I am fully aware of foods that are toxic to certain animals. I will follow any special safety instructions provided by the owner. If I’m in a client’s home, I make sure doors and gates are properly secured and always supervise pets when necessary. I build trust with both pets and owners by maintaining open communication, providing regular updates, and respecting the pet’s routines. I understand that pets may feel anxious in new environments, so I take the time to earn their trust with patience, positive reinforcement, and gentle interactions. When i'm at a clients home, I strive to create a calm and comfortable environment. This includes providing a clean space, fresh water, appropriate exercise, and plenty of love. About: I always had big dogs growing up, standard poodles very active… and I have had my own dogs for 17 years. I love long walks and playful activity and attending to their needs. I am not currently working and Looking for more activity and I have the weekends free for the next few months and would love to fill time with your dog~ Calypso is pretty mellow at home, she loves being off leash and getting exercise. She is good on the beach or with leashes in city walks. We also play with toys and is ball focused. She loves doggy companions as her sister passed 2 years ago and I think she misses having dog friends. We go to the dog park almost everyday, she enjoying playing fetch…. We also like to go to the beach for long walks by the waves. I care for pets like they are my kids. Lots of attention and belly rubs. I have a fenced yard so the dogs have plenty of access to the backyard and time to be inside and outside through out the day.

About: I’ve pet sat for multiple close friends and acquaintances throughout the years. I’m always respectful of the space and of the pets boundaries. I make sure not to stress out any animal. Right now I have a job that takes up a few hours of my week (sat-wed) but I am pretty flexible with scheduling and sure I can accommodate if need be. I live in a house with 4 cats and have cared for my roommate’s elderly dogs in the past which I believe taught me a lot about how to care for all kinds of animals.
