“Adela took amazing care of my dog Sammy during his 6‑day stay. She sent daily photo updates that gave me so much peace of mind while I was on vacation. She also paid close attention to his behavior and let me know about some anxiety signs she noticed, which will really help me prepare him for future stays in other homes. She even went above and beyond by picking Sammy up so I could finish loading my car—such a thoughtful gesture. I could tell from his photos and his happy, relaxed demeanor when I picked him up that he felt comfortable and loved in her home. Her whole family did a wonderful job caring for him. Highly recommend Adela. If they will have him Sammy will definitely be visiting again.”

“Excellent pet sitter! She boarded our puppy for two nights and took great care of her. Our puppy came home happy, healthy, and well-loved. Great communication and a caring environment. Highly recommend!”

“Christina took amazing care of my Bella! She sent me pictures every day with updates. And she was so accommodating and understanding of my travel times. Will definitely use her again!”

“Shannon is great! Kane has stayed multiple times with her and he loves it. I’ve been out of the area for a while but needed someone last minute and wanted Kane to be familiar with the spot, she was very accommodating and responsive. Will always trust my dog there!”

“Both times my Yorkie was with Ebony I felt that he was in good care. She did an amazing job with sending my daily photos. I felt very comfortable after the first time knowing that he would be in good hands.”

“Erin was so great with our dog, Apollo. This was our first time using Rover, so we were a little nervous, but we were reassured with all of the pictures that Erin sent us during our stay and how happy Apollo was when we picked him up. We would ask Erin to watch Apollo again in a heartbeat!”
“Angela took amazing care of Kale while we were away. She took the cutest photos of him and sent great updates. I would definitely recommend a friend to utilize her services. She provided so much love to our pup and we are so grateful.”

“Thank you Tehya for accommodating us. She was very sweet and kind. Nice clean home. Huge fenced backyard and plenty of inside space. She sent pictures and kept in communication everyday. I am very grateful and pleased that she took in our little Missy. Will definitely book again and again.”

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Hillyard home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Hillyard.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
