About: I have lived on a hobby farm my entire life and continue to do so in adulthood. I have cared for and owned/ own small to large dogs, cats from the wild ones to the shy ones. I've also taken care of other people's farms when out of town including horses and cattle. I don't just show up. I pay attention. I always make sure your animal is well cared for under my responsibility. I'm currently a stay-at-home mom that does homeschooling, so I am very flexible. Dependent on the afternoon care and if my kids will be with me or not. Evenings I'm able to be there solely to have 100% focus on your animals. That being said, my schedule will be based out of your schedule for the day. I have a very good understanding, although I'm not perfect, on animal behavior to keep myself and animals safe while visiting them and caring for them. Safety is first. Second is fun and love!
“Britany was amazing! We adopted a cat that has asthma, so he needs daily meds. She came every day to give him his meds, spoil him a little bit and send me pictures. I would feel completely comfortable leaving our kitty in her care again!”

“Arianna took very good care of my two dogs when she stopped in each day. It was a relief to know that they were able to get outside and run around for a bit. I would absolutely recommend her services!”

“McKenzie is a Godsend for us and the fur-baby! She provides great care and updates to us each time, and is as kind as can be. I don't know what we'd do without her.”

About: I've taken care of dogs for over twenty years. I grew up with dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, and hamsters. After graduating from high school, I managed a dog hotel for three years while going to nursing school. My friends and family have relied on me to feed, care for, play with, walk, and bathe their dogs. I am also a registered nurse with my Master's Degree and work from home. I have a six-year-old, 9lb female chihuahua of my own, and I also foster for Ruff Start Rescue. I work full time from home Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. I am available in the afternoons to care for your pets and on weekends. I travel occasionally, but I will adjust my calendar as needed. I live in town and have a fenced-in yard. I can accommodate as needed and according to you and your dog's preferences. I do not crate my dog at home, but she is dog-friendly.
About: I’ve lived on a farm just about my entire life. I have taken care of many different kinds of animals like dogs, cats, birds, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, rats, and more. I also have experience with taking care of animals with medication needs. I just got a part time job, but it’s pretty flexible. Living on a farm, I am busy from time to time, but usually I have enough time for cuddles and playing! I can do just about anything you need depending on the temperament of your pet. I can play with them, crate them if needed, and give them any medications they might have.
About: I have a service dog who is a Pembroke corgi, I took a lot of animal care classes during highschool, I am honest and treat animals as if they were my own! I am unable to work a regular job so I am open 24/7 and home 24/7, I would also take your dogs to a trusted dog park! I am unable to drive, so my fiancé or dad would be my transportation, and usually they get off work at 4-5pm some days, so if you would be able to bring your animals to my house or pick me up to yours, That would be amazing! I am very flexible and understanding! I have 2 dogs who are VERY friendly and love to play with other dogs, I take my dogs to the dog park every other day, and walks DAILY 2 times a day! I do not work currently as I am unemployed, so I have a lot of free time on my hands to be able to pet sit. I would ask if they have a schedule or not, and will stick with their schedule if they do, if they were at my house I do ask for you to bring something that smells like home so it’s less stressful for your pet
About: My partner and I will work together to provide the best services to other pet parents as we can! By having us as a team support one another, we're able to help more pet parents with their needs! 😊 Cassie: I've had dogs and cats my whole life. When I bought my first house in 2019, I adopted a senior dog who was scheduled to be euthanized simply because her owner passed away and nobody else could take her. She inspired me to want to take care of senior babies who may have additional needs not everybody can manage. I have experience administering oral and topical medication (no needles) for both dogs and cats. Since there's two of us, we do our best to flex schedules to make things work. Cassie works from home full-time and Justin has a hybrid schedule working 3 days in office and 2 days from home. Cassie has a strong attention to detail, so we will follow instructions closely to ensure the safety of all parties involved. We both have experience with dogs and cats, so we know to be careful to avoid any potential issues.

I work from home so I am able to take my computer with me wherever I go as long as there is internet! Only able to stay for a few hours 2-4 hours for a check in During summer months walks will be under 30minutes and rate of $25 due to buyness of season and it being too hot, i will not walk your dog in hot weather for more than 15minutes and if its 90degrees and will be adjusted for times of morning hours to later in evening due to weather- I can take pictures, I let my dogs sleep on my furniture they have beds of their own, I feed my dogs twice a day.

About: I lived with 2 cats for a majority of my life. I have experience watching animals for family and friends, looking to meet new best friends. I am currently working full time and going to school part time to earn my master’s degree. Looking for a fun side job to keep life interesting. About: I have five years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and small animals for friends, family, and neighbors. I also grew up around animals, so pet care has always been a natural part of my life. I love making sure each pet feels safe, happy, and loved. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
