About: All my life I've been interested in animals. I grew up with a dog, a cat, and a snake, and my work in the field has involved all sorts of animal husbandry, from shearing sheep to catching alligators or banding songbirds. Sometimes I feel I understand animals better than people which helps me provide specialized one-on-one care to meets your beloved pet's needs. I want to ensure that they feel as safe, comfortable, and well-loved with me as they do with you! I'm currently taking some online classes, so my schedule is pretty flexible! Right now I have a lot of time Fridays-Mondays which I would love to spend taking care of some special pets. I don't have access to a fenced-in yard currently and would not be able to host a dog to the best of my ability. I've taken care of cats at my house, however, and have found that they quickly feel at ease in my home environment. My kitty passed away last year, unfortunately, but I am home often and will provide as much company and attention as your pet desires. I want them to know they have a friend in me.

I also have 10 years of animal rescue volunteer experience, primarily fostering cats and kittens, which is how I acquired my two beautiful foster fails, Penelope and Toulouse! Through rescue work, I've cared for animals from all kinds of backgrounds and learned the importance of patience, understanding, and letting each pet warm up at their own pace. I've even developed a bit of a reputation as an animal whisperer, and I'd love the chance to get to know your pets and help them feel safe and comfortable, no matter how shy they might be! I recently graduated from college and am studying for the MCAT during my gap year, so my schedule is very flexible (apart from some minimal travel plans). Typically, I volunteer in the mornings, so late morning to afternoons work a bit better for me, but with advance notification, I can usually make most times work. I have watched multiple dogs, big dogs, dogs that take meds, anxious dogs, etc. I am willing to walk, check in, or stay nights if needed. With summer my weeks are random. About: Things to know about me: 1. I’ve been dog-obsessed since before the age of 5. I’m now 40(ish), and still have to control my natural and immediate impulse to pet every dog I see. And cats…and goats. Mostly dogs. 2. I have extensive experience with dogs of all kinds. I spent years volunteering at the SPCA. I’ve fostered, dog-sat, socialized and walked all kinds of dogs - large to small, long to short, elderly to puppies. I’ve been bitten more times than I care to admit, and I’ve still NEVER met a dog I don’t like. 3. They belong indoors, in the bed, and on the furniture. They deserve the cheese tax and also the chicken tax. There’s no such thing as a bad dog. I said what I said. In short, if you’re in or around the Dayton area and you need a walker or a day-sitter, I’ll be happy to. And I’ll love your dog like they’re my own while I’m with them. I’m currently available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. throughout the day. I’m occasionally available on weekends during the day, although that availability is a little more infrequent. I’m available to walk and play with your dog, let them out, give treatos or feed as needed, and work on leash training and basic commands if needed.
