“Evelin was amazing with our pup. She provided us with photos through out the week, reassuring us that our Pup was behaving and enjoying herself. Plus Evelin was very accommodating and loving to our dog (Alice). Thanks again Evelin for welcoming Alice and taking great care of her.”

“Being the first time we had used Rover to sit for our Norwich Terrier Luke, we were a little nervous. Victor was kind enough to show us his home and yard we he sits for his Rover clients. It was well maintained with a nice back yard for all of them to get together and play. Victor was very communicative and kept us updated on Luke’s day and how he was doing including numerous photos. All went very well and we are very happy to have Victor in our area for the future!”

“Jess is phenomenal! Excellent and quick communication for a last minute booking. She took such great care of my senior dog and even sent me pictures during the stay. Bonnie wasn’t sure she wanted to leave 😆😅 Thank you again, Jess!”

“Jennifer is kind and friendly to both people and dogs. She even sent photos of Daisy while we were away so we could see that all was well. We will ask Jennifer to keep our pup again I'm sure.”

“Whitney was so great with both Poshka & Kolki. She sent updates & pictures. I felt very calm leaving both dogs with her from the beginning & I could tell they were very happy & well cared for when I picked them up. Will definitely book with her again!”

“Alexandra was amazing with my dog! I got pictures every day and I could tell he was having a blast every day. He got lots of love and exercise. I’ll definitely be boarding my dog with Alexandra again.”

“We reached out very last minute and Maria responded very quickly the whole time and sent us lots of picture updates. We had a great experience. Our dog got to meet some friends as well as go on lots of walks and he even came home looking and smelling very clean ;). Thank you!!”

“Mary was great. She was able to accommodate to my schedule for a last minute beach trip and sent updates of my baby before I could even ask for them. Will be a returning client!”

“Ashley did an amazing job taking care of Wiley! She was incredibly flexible with my last-minute request and handled everything seamlessly. She was so sweet to Wiley and did a fantastic job keeping up with his high energy through lots of walks and playtime with his favorite toys. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would absolutely love to book with her again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Isabel and her family were great with our large, 90-pound dog. He can sometimes be stressed when we're away, but when I picked him up, while he was really glad to see me, you could tell he wasn't stressed at all. I took him home, he ate dinner and promptly went to sleep! Thanks Isabel!”

“We have never left our pup anywhere except at our house and with sitters we knew. Using Rover was something new but I’m glad I did. Brittany was amazing with our pup who at times is very stubborn about what he wants and needs. I was very nervous to leave him but it was the best decision. He had a great time with Brittany and was definitely spoiled by having someone home all the time. He didn’t even want to get up from his afternoon nap to head home. I can definitely recommend Brittany and we will be using her again. She was also very responsive and sent me pictures and messages throughout the day to let me know how he was doing. 5 stars all the way!”

“Kerri was fantastic! She promptly responds to messages and accommodated all my requests, such as sending pictures of the dogs playing, providing daily updates and bathing him before pick up. I felt completely comfortable leaving my dog with Kerri. She treats my dog as if he was one of her own, and I highly recommend her and would use her again.”

“Tugce took wonderful care of our dog for a week while we were away. He was treated like a member of her family. She provided updates and communication for arrangements was easy. Our dog was calm and happy when we picked him up, which says to us he had a pleasant stay! 100 would recommend and will use again.”

“Michelle and her family far exceeded my expectations for a sitter for our Goldendoodle Gracie!! From the meet and greet to the drop off to the pick up this family was amazing with our dog. Not only did they take excellent care of her while we were away but they sent me daily pictures, videos and updates about how she was doing!! I felt very comfortable leaving Gracie and will 1000% be using this family again!”

“Kylo had such a great time with Melanie! We received constant pictures and updates and were completely at ease during our time out of town. Melanie really loves pups and it shows! Kylo can be anxious in new environments but she seemed to settle down with Melanie in no time! Would definitely recommend Melanie/book with her again!”

“Angela was wonderful. The dogs immediately loved her, the space is fantastic, she was responsive and kept me up to date the whole time I was away. Totally recommend.”

“Denise took wonderful care of my 15-year-old pup, Tonalli! She kept me updated with thoughtful messages and adorable photos, which I really appreciated. It was clear Tonalli felt completely relaxed, comfortable, and safe in her care.”

About: Like everyone else on this app, I love dogs, and grew up with German Shepherds However, I started on the rover app because I wanted to provide something I thought was missing… reliable pet care for high energy and athletic dogs. I travel a lot and the last thing I want to worry about is if my 70 pound GSD is wearing out the kind old lady I left her with because that’s who was available. Rest assured, if you leave your dog with me for work or for play, I’ll treat them as if they were my own. Need daily runs or multiple walks a day? Good. We run every day. Need yard play time? Not a problem. Extra belly rubs? Easy. Is your Dog a couch potato? I have a couch and have happy to give rubs and chill out. The point is, weather for a week or a weekend, if you leave your dog with me, you can focus on where ever your travels are taking you. I have a pretty demanding full time job. I’m only available for boarding in my home. If I’m home, your dog has 100% of my focus. I have a very well trained and very social GSD and a large fenced in yard. I also have rooms I can fence off to give your dog some space. I’m happy to play fetch, take multiple walks, and daily runs if needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Haw Branch home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Haw Branch.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Haw Branch sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
