About: With years of hands-on animal care experience, I’m comfortable caring for puppies/kittens, seniors, and pets with medical needs. I provide attentive, reliable care that keeps pets safe, comfortable and happy. I am currently working full-time in the area, while running a family farm and caring for my own pets. I want to give every animal the best possible care I can, just as I do for mine at home, so I will make the time to care for those in the community. Everyone cares for their pets in a slightly different manner. That being said, as long as I’m aware of what the owner wants for their animal, I’m more than willing to oblige.
“Jayne has been just amazing! She provided drop in service for our cat Bernice for a week and I could not imagine ever getting any better care. She came on a regular schedule every day, took care of all her needs and spent time playing with her. I received pictures and a Rover report after every visit. She even bought her new toys! Bernice and I were extremely happy with Jayne and would highly recommend her.”

“Julia did an amazing job watching our dog while we were out of town! She gave us frequent updates/pictures and made sure that our dog had fun! Would highly recommend her and we will definitely be contacting her for future pet care!”

About: I used to foster dogs. My yard is pretty big and I have a doggie door. My dogs do not mind visitors. I am off work during the summer and all major holidays. I am a teacher so I am off for the summers. When school is in session, I get off early and I am usually home before 4pm. I have a fenced in yard that can be accessed by a doggie door. I have 3 small dogs. I walk them and play with them on a regular basis. I also have 2 cats.

About: I’ve had a dog since I was 9 years old. I’ve been taking care of them ever since! I have been watching other dogs since I was a teenager. I’ve pet sat a good variety of dogs, from border collies to labs and teeny little Pomeranian mixes! I DO NOT DO SLEEPOVERS I have a good deal of availability during the summer, so my schedule is very flexible! I teach private lessons on Monday and Friday afternoons for a couple hours, otherwise my other jobs provide me a good deal of flexibility, so that I can pet set as much as possible! I do NOT do overnights! At my home our dogs have an electric fence, and have been properly trained not to cross the invisible line. I have also lived in areas where dogs are fenced in, and even with neither type of fence and just a long chain attached to the ground. Regardless I will take care of your pet regardless of the outdoor situation. I am pretty physically fit, so I can carve out some good time to take them on walks, long or short! I follow your instructions to the T when it comes to specific needs and potty/bed times. I will come to you and do whatever needs to be done to make sure your pet is happy and safe!
“First time using Rover and Liam isn’t used to strangers so we were both a bit nervous. Punctual; being right on time for the scheduled appointments, responsive with great communication and regular updates. The photos are a nice touch and helpful. Exceeded expectations. Thank you.”

“Kyani was absolutely amazing with my dogs (Laila & Bowe) She was attentive, she took tons of videos and pictures which kept me connected to my fur babies. She gave them plenty of play time and I can tell by the pictures my fur babies loved hanging out with Kyani. If I ever need a dog sitter I'll be contacting Kyani.”

“Brad was very responsive to a last minute request to let my dogs out when I couldn’t get back home in time to feed them. He fed them and let them out and hung out with them for awhile.”

“Keena has been fantastic with watching my two dogs! She has been able to care for them last minute and consistently provides updates, asks questions about food, routine, etc., and has been quick to let me know if any issues come up. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an excellent and attentive dog sitter!”

“Diane is a great sitter and our two boys love it when she stops by. Even our most shy kitty, who doesn't like outsode people, loves to play and even accepts pets sometimes.”

“Latasha looked after our kitty (Lazare) and house for a week in July. She was very professional and courteous. She took the time to write down instructions on our meet and greet. Lazare loved her! I appreciated her communication and photos and she also took good care of the house and plants. I wholeheartedly recommend Latasha.”

About: I've lived with dogs my entire life and have never met a dog I can't connect with. I love dogs of all sizes and behaviors; I have experience counseling groups of kids at summer camp, so I have no trouble managing dogs in a group or with rowdy tendencies. I have access to a car and the ability to be flexible with timing and distance as well, just contact me! I can work with any number and any kind of dog! I grew up with a couple dogs of different sizes and I currently live with 2 little ones, so I am comfortable handling any canine situation! This means I am more than happy to take on any responsibility/task requested, such as administering medication, engaging in frequent or constant activity, intently monitoring an animal for an extended period of time, etc. beyond, of course, walking & relieving your best friend(s)! I will always provide dilligent and careful care of both your pets and your home.

“Barbara did a great job taking care of my boys (cats) while I was away. She showed up as scheduled and took care of feeding and cleaning the litter boxes. I got photos each day which was fun to see and a video one day as well. Nice to know that they were well taken care of!!!”

Joe has been boarding cats since around 2019 and has began boarding dogs since 2024. My partner and I work from home and provide full time care, meaning that, unless discussed beforehand explicitly, your pet will not be left alone and you can rest easy knowing they have our full attention. We only accept more than one pet at a time if they live in the same house and we are pet free right now, so you dont have to worry about how they might get along with any other animals. Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
