“Kimberly did a great job caring for our dog while we were at work. It was our first time having someone come to the house and walk our dog. She made us feel very comfortable that our dog was going to be well taken care of. I would definitely recommend her.”

About: I have 6 years vet tech experience and another 15 years as a Labrador breeder. I have had large dogs all my life, from Shepard mixes and border collie to Labradors. I have owned performance dogs as well older dogs rescued from shelters. I have a raised ranch style home and can separate your dogs into the finished basement (which also has my home office and living room). If they are dog friendly they can live in the entire home with my two Labradors and family. My yard is impossible to fence but for smaller or older dogs I allow them on deck off lead (when I am home). When not working from home I am in Branchville and can stop at your home by 04:30PM. I am available many weekends. I am experienced in training basic obedience and have worked with multiple rescue dogs.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs for as long as I can remember, both within my family and for others outside of it. Over the years, I’ve gained hands-on experience with a variety of personalities, sizes, and needs, which has made me comfortable and confident handling all kinds of dogs. In addition to dogs, I’ve regularly cared for cats, including those with medical conditions that required administering medication. I understand how important it is to be patient, attentive, and gentle, especially when pets need extra care and consistency. I also have a dog of my own, so I know firsthand the level of love, responsibility, and attention pets deserve every day. I treat every animal I care for like they’re part of my own family, making sure they feel safe, happy, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work from 9 AM to 2 PM four days a week, which leaves me available for morning and afternoon/evening visits, walks, and check-ins. I’m very active and walk about 5 miles every day, so I’m always happy to include dogs in my routine to make sure they get plenty of exercise and attention. Whether it’s a quick walk, a longer outing, or just spending time keeping your pet company, I can easily incorporate pet care into my schedule and stay consistent and reliable. I care for every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved whether they’re in my home or their own. I always follow the owner’s instructions closely, including feeding schedules, exercise routines, and any specific care needs. In a client’s home, I try to keep pets on their normal routine to reduce stress. I make sure they get plenty of attention, playtime, and exercise, along with regular walks and bathroom breaks. I also keep the home tidy and provide updates so owners feel at ease while they’re away. If I’m caring for pets in my home, I provide a clean, safe, and calm environment where they can relax and feel at home. I make sure they get lots of attention, daily walks, and supervision throughout their stay. I’m also comfortable caring for pets with special needs, including administering medication when required. My goal is always to make sure each pet is happy, healthy, and well cared for while giving owners peace of mind.

About: Hello! I live in Sussex County, NJ, and have been walking dogs since January 2025 via the Wag app. I am available for drop ins, walks, and pet sitting during the day. Since I have 2 sassy beagle-mixes of my own, I can do overnight stays with some household coordination on my end. I’m currently working part time, so have a flexible schedule! I do my best to only accept bookings where I know I’ll make it not only on time, but a few minutes early. It’s important for me to know what access or limits your pet has in your home, so I like to over communicate with pet parents so I fully understand what makes your pet happy and safe.

“First, I've never used this type of service before. Alissa was accommodating, attentive, prompt and very caring for my dog, Lilly. If Alissa is the standard of the type of people that will care for my dog, I would use this service again, without a doubt. And, I wouldn't hesitate in booking Alissa, and recommending her to everyone.”

“Ashley was wonderful and very considerate of all my dog’s needs. She was very easy to communicate with and responded right away, and was amenable to our schedule for meeting. I really appreciated how good she was with our dog, and her expertise as a vet tech really showed. Thank you, Ashley! We definitely hope to use her services again.”

About: I've always grown up surrounded by dogs, whether that was in my own household or around family. I am super excited to continue dog walking and care for your pets needs! I am currently a full time student at UD so classes may interfere but I am open to discussing times to care for your pet! “We had a great experience with Irem. She is very easy going and responsible. She took a great care of our dog when we went away on vocation. We will continue using her services for our next trips.”

About: My love for animals began at a very young age. At the young age of 3, I began riding horses and competing, under the training of my mom. Horses were my entire life and I learned all that I could at a young age. I was handling these 1200+ pound animals by myself and doing all I could with them! In 2016, we moved to a farm where we were able to keep our horses and it also had a dog kennel which was always filled with dogs. From then I started watching how things were run and I got to help handle many different breeds and sizes. As I got older I started to do more for the kennel and got to watch/help administer medication to the older pups. Every morning, before school and before bed, I would go down to the kennel and check on the dogs, refill waters, and give treats! We also had goats, sheep, alpacas, cows, peacocks, chickens, ducks, pigs, and so much more on the farm. I was able to help raise babies and care for all of the animals. It was so amazing to work with all these different animals for years and learn all I could about them! I would go out every morning before school and after school to move the animals from the barn to their paddocks outside. It was my favorite way to start the day. In September 2019, My mom brought home two 8 week old puppies Cinnamon & Pumpkin. They are Toy Australian Shepherds, who are extremely energetic and very strong considering they are small. I started walking them 3 times a day and loved it. Not only was it great exercise for both of us, but I noticed such a difference in their demeanor. From then on, I wanted to do all I could with dogs. In 2020, I started helping a close friend of mine, Alexis, who owns a pet care business (Alexis’s Home Pet Care). I would go on walks with her daily and help as much as possible. She taught me so much about the dog walking side of the business because as we know, it’s not always as easy as it seems. I helped work with the easier dogs and then the reactive dogs as well. Dogs are all different and they all can be triggered by different things, whether it be other dogs passing by, humans, etc. For almost two years, I did all I could to learn everything possible with a great mentor behind me. In March 2022, I felt ready to venture off on my own and I began Devon’s Pet Care. I started with just very few walks a week, and then started to really learn more and started caring for pets overnight. It’s such an amazing feeling to be able to grow with these fur babies. Eventually, my business took off and I felt so happy and accomplished because this was my dream job. I have had the opportunity to work with some very amazing pets and I even have had the chance to have some human-aggressive dogs trust me. Although I have my business, I still work with Alexis, and as she got more into boarding, I am able to help her when she needs it. She is always there to give me advice when needed, as well I am even able to give her advice now. In May of 2023, I looked more into pet boarding and I ended up being able to set up a great kennel-free environment for dogs. It seemed people wanted to stop using “kennel facilities” as the dogs don’t get out as much as they are typically used to. I am so lucky to get the chance to care for amazing dogs and work with some amazing families to make sure their fur babies get the correct care. I now have 30 horses and compete nationally with them as well as being able to raise foals. I helped my mom raise over 10 foals this past season and some were bottle-fed to help get a little start prior to them figuring out how to nurse. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my new puppy, Gemma as well as riding my my horses and spending time with them. I also recently joined my local fire department as a volunteer firefighter. I love being able to help the community! This journey has been amazing, and I am so excited for the future in this field! I do this full time, so your pups will always have the attention they deserve when you are unable to be there for them. I take pride in the care I offer to all pets! Dogs who don’t have a fenced yard will go for at least 3 walks per day with overnight stays, dogs who have a fenced yard will go for at least 1 walk a day during an overnight stay, or drop in visits. Our boarding dogs participate in our doggy day care program, and all dogs will be grouped according to size, for safety!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
