“Frank & Julie are Phenomenal! I was quite nervous about trying again to find temporary care for my dog after a poor experience on another pet sitting app. I read all the other positive reviews for this couple and anxiously decided to move forward with booking. I am so pleased with the care they provided! I feel they went above and beyond for my dog. I'm so grateful I found them instead of boarding, where he'd have had very little attention and interaction. Instead he got the love and attention he could want and all the comforts of home. I will happily continue to use their service.”

About: I've been taking care of pets since I was 8, it started with a cat and grew to dogs and snakes and more, working with animals is my dream job. I work factory Monday through Friday but Friday night into Sunday I am available for pet care. I have 2 cats and a dog at my own home, but I am more than happy to dog sit at others homes. I make sure my cats litter boxes are kept clean, I keep their food bowls filled, and I keep their water filled. I walk my dog a lot and I take her out every couple hours to use the bathroom.
“Jessica and Chase were very helpful boarding Barley while we were traveling. We had two meet and greets before boarding so that Barley could get used to their house and their dog. They sent pictures every day with comments on how Barley was doing. We really appreciated that and looked forward to it every day! We know he really felt cared for by them when we picked him up and he had to say goodbye to each of them before we left. Thank you again Jessica and Chase!”

“Kristina is amazing! I cannot say enough good things about her—she watched our pup super last minute and she made him feel so comfortable, so happy, I wasn’t sure he was ready to come home! I don’t think I would have anyone else watch Ryder after our amazing experience with Kristina ?”

“Refine and her family were great hosts! Communication was great and I felt comfortable leaving Blaze with them! If Blaze gets better with potty training I would love for them to keep him again! He was wore out coming home this morning for sure!”

“Sadie’s was a great pet caregiver to our 4 month old puppy. This was the first time we left him with someone for a few days, and, he loved it! She shared pictures throughout his stay of his playtime and nap time. He was a tired puppy when he came home. He will visit with her again!”

“Becky was so great, my Dog Otis had such a fun time there. She took him on lots of walks, let him swim in the nearby lake, and gave him lots of love and treats. Would recommend her to anyone who wants their dog to have a loving place to stay.”

“Alysa was amazing with Otis! We have a near 13 year old with lots of health issues and Alyssa didn’t think twice about caring for him. She was so gentle and thoughtful with his needs. We felt so safe leaving him there with her while we were out of town. She kept in regular contact with us with pictures and messages to let us know how he was doing. Otis was comfortable and happy. We would absolutely recommend her and we will use her service again.”

About: I have been caring for pets my entire life. When I was young, I started a dog walking service with my friend, that lasted years. I started rover to earn extra income when I had my son, now 7. I would love the opportunity to make your pet a part time family member in our home and give you the reassurance your pet is happy and safe while you are away! I have a 12 year old, neutered male husky that would love a part time buddy, and a neutered male cat. If your little one doesnt like other pets, I can keep them separated, no problem! Your pup is only allowed on the furniture if YOU allow them to be! They are both great with cats and dogs. This gives me the opportunity to work on getting up and active through out the days I dont work. I look forward to meeting your furry family member! My child is in school for most of the day and I usually work a few days out of the week due to my online education needs, so I have the entire day to fit your care into my schedule. I allow animals to get comfortable on their own terms and am not pushy with them getting used to my presence. I enjoy playing and ensuring a clean, calm environment.
“Daniel was fantastic! We choose him to dog sit out German shepherd for her first over night not at home. We did a meet and greet first and then she stayed over for the weekend. He made me feel very comfortable and even sent me some photos of my pup! Timber really seemed to enjoy her stay and the adventures (walks) they went on! We will definitely keep Daniel in mind when we need another dog sitter.”

“We had a great experience with Matthew! He took great care of our dog while we were away, sent photo updates and had great communication. Pickup and dropoff was when he said and when so smooth! Would love to send our pup with him again!!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Harbor Springs home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Harbor Springs.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Harbor Springs sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
