17. Katie W.
“Our 2 dogs had the best stay with Katie. You can tell she loves dogs and treated them like her own. She let our little chihuahua snuggle with her the whole week and our big dog loved playing with her puppy. Lots and pictures and videos were sent and she even gave them some healthy thanksgiving treats (she asked permission first) and a cute Xmas bandana to come home in. I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to use her again.”

About: I have fostered for rescues since 2013. Then I opened my own local rescue in 2019. I focus on large breed dogs that were neglected, overbred, underloved, and abandoned. ALL funds from Rover go into my dog rescue ❤️ I am also currently battling my soul dog’s brain tumor so income goes to her vet bills as well I work 6 hour shifts most of the week but am otherwise home. Food and water is left in the room as well as DogTv, toys, and chews! I leave pee pads just in case as well. Our main dog room is a finished garage. It is temperature controlled and there are a minimum of two doors/fences between your dogs and any exits or other dogs. Every door is sturdy and kept locked while I’m not home. The other dogs in the home do not make much noise so your dogs probably won’t even know they exist :) I do keep white noise on in the room as well. This includes a loud fan or the AC plus “dog tv” at a comfortable volume. I know some dogs need time to feel safe in a new environment. So I spend the first hour or two letting them come and go, walking them on leash to grow trust, and sitting with them in the kennel. I wait until they’re comfortable before I leave them alone. There is also a nanny camera on them at all times. I check it through the day to make sure they are not nervous at any time. We do have some dog friendly dogs in the home. If you’d like your dog to make a friend , let me know and I will SAFELY and slowly introduce them the way I do with all of my dogs in the rescue! The front yard has a 4.5 ft fence with locked gate and security camera on the entire yard. Dogs are accompanied outside unless I go inside to fill their water bowls etc. the neighborhood is safe and my direct neighbors always keep an eye out for me and my dogs as well. There is very little foot traffic out front but if you think your dog can clear a 4.5ft fence if it sees a stray squirrel or cat, please let me know so I can let them use the backyard instead
