“Sam tended to them very well. Ella is young so dealing with her is a task and Sam seemed to handle it well. In fact, I am hoping she becomes their long term sitter.”

“Alexis is my first pick when looking for someone to care for my babies. She ALWAYS checks in on time and i never have to worry when she comes to my home while im away! Highly recommend!”

About: As a pet owner, I understand how nerve wracking it is to leave your baby with someone you barely know but I assure you, your babies will be PAMPERED. I have grown up with animals all my life (dogs, cats, lizards, fish). I also have worked at my hometown zoo for 4 years where I gained animal handling experience and zookeeping experience. With that, I am very comfortable with medicine administration and handling anxious animals. I am currently a graduate student and only have 1 three hour class a day so I will not be gone very long! Thursday, Saturdays, and Sundays I am completely free! I cannot host pets in my own home and usually stay over night for however long is needed. I am comfortable with crating, medicine administration, and any special diets your baby may need!
“Alex did drop-in visits at our home while my husband and I were away on our trip. He was always on time and spent ample time and attention to our dog Peaches for all 30 visits we had him. He also did a great job of communicating throughout. Peaches really loved him! I would highly recommend Alex and will definitely request him for our next trip!”

“We loved having Melissa in our home caring for our babies and would absolutely recommend her if you are looking for a gentle, respectful, and thoughtful pet sitter. Our dogs appreciated her company while we were away.”

About: I’m looking to care for animals while I wait to start my job! I’ve helped take care of my family’s dog over the past few years and love animals! I am currently waiting to start my job after graduating school a few months ago, so I have plenty of time to care for your animals! I am able to sit and play with your dog/cat in your own home, replenish their food and water bowls, and walk them in their own neighborhood if needed!
About: I’ve had and taken care of dogs and cats my whole life. I’ve house trained all my pets. I’ve sat for friends and family. I love animals, especially dogs. And they usually love me back! I’m currently open availability so I am able to watch you pet whenever! As long as I have enough notice to take of what I need at home, I’m there! I have a small fence for my yard for small dogs. Owners with yards are preferred, but I’m experience with walking. Any needs can be met.
About: I started working with pets when I was ten years old and volunteering at my local animal shelter. In highschool I worked as a kennel tech and I also took on pet sitting jobs while in highschool! I’m a very busy bee but make it an effort to open up time for at least one weekend a month to be able to provide help to you and your sweet fur babies! I’m always willing to be a helping hand whenever I can! As far as caring for pets in your home while house sitting I am very focused on routine. I believe it is important for pets to not fall out of a routine as staying in one keeps them happy and more comfortable especially when a new person is staying in their home!

About: I have been a dog lover and owner all my life. Getting outside and getting plenty of exercise is something I consider to be especially important. I had dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, pigs, horses, rats, and reptiles. As you can see, I don’t discriminate on what animal you may have and all are welcomed here! At 15, I had my first job as a dog groomer. I was in charge of grooming, kennel upkeep, walking, and boarding. I have two dogs, and a bearded dragon who are spoiled with unconditional love. Currently working full time from home, so I’d have plenty of time to watch over your fur babies. I keep up with posting dates that im available, if there’s a day open I’ll be all yours! I have a fenced in yard with enough room for them to run around and release some energy. I have two dogs, who are extremely sweet and gets along with others. They’d love to have a friend around.. possible to keep them separate as well. Also have my own vehicle, so picking up and bringing your buddy to parks is no problem. I’m able to tailor to your pets needs and get accustomed to their daily schedule. While your animal is in my care, I’ll follow up with text and photos to keep your mind at peace :).
About: I’ve had 10+ years of dog experience. I was introduced to big breed dogs at the age of 5 and have been in love with them since. I have experience in caring for dogs and corrective behavior. My Availability schedule is very flexible. I make 30 minute house calls at your convenience and I will do up to 3 days of overnight sitting in your home. I think that it is very important to keep pets in their own familiar environment, therefore, I take suggestions from owners about their dog’s favorite hobbies and parks.
About: I’ve taken care of so many dogs since I was younger, so many have relied on me, and trusted me with their dogs and having to deal with walks, feedings, medications (mostly oral meds). I have such a huge passion for dog care and love spending time with so many fur babies at my previous job at a doggy daycare. I have about 3 years and 8 months of hands on experience in the dog field. Reading body language, training and much more.I treat everyone’s furry babies as if they were my own. I have recently relocated into a new state and so everything is new for me here! But I’m happy to meet all these new furry friends and show all the care I have for each. I’m currently unemployed so my schedule is pretty open. I’m here whenever you need me! Is basically my motto as of right now! I’m here to care. I have two fur babies of my own one being a 4 year old lab retriever mix he is very socialized and can keep your fur baby or babies company if they are well enough with other dogs. Can always bring him on walks with us or to come and visit and play or stay with. I also provide adventures. But with my services I can provide in home care, overnight care and or drop ins. And as said walks! Whatever you need I will go above and beyond to make sure everything you need is done!
About: I’ve always adored pets since I was young. I’ve had many in my life from cats, dogs, and rodents. I know animals are equal beings that need treatment with special accommodations. This requires patience which is almost unlimited for me.i currently have three cats that I’ve owned since they were 3-4 months old they’re now 6. I just got rats a few weeks ago they’re girls 6-8 months old. I believe everything follows a routine dedicated to them and I have no issue aligning myself to these routines. I’m still finishing high school at the moment and I have a job. But besides managing those I’m available weekdays after 4 if I’m not scheduled to work, weekends any time I keep my babies inside as much as possible. They’re allowed to free roam outside since they’re used to that lifestyle from before. They wear flee collars, jam is allergic. I cleanse them with daily grooming and anima safe wipes or soap if necessary. They’re fed 2-3 a day with half a cup or less of cat food I do plan to change their diets eventually. When it comes to other people’s pets I treat them with nothing but love and care and always stay considerate of whatever the owner says I should know about that animal. I’m extremely against cruelty brand products so I will avoid associating or using them.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
