“Highly recommend! Took our 1.5 yr old boxer for a last minute stay and it went great! She introduced our pup to each of her dogs and everyone got along great, fenced in yard for them to roam and lets them cuddle inside on the couches. Thanks again Cheyenne!”

“This was our second time using Katie and Edward. One of our dogs had an ear infection and needed to be given ear drop medication during her stay. Katie took good care of both of dogs. We will use her again.”

“Brandon went above and beyond with our dogs! He sent pictures and kept us updated on how they were doing. Highly recommend and will definitely use him again! Very happy with the care our dogs received.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Evan and his fiancée! They were very attentive, flexible, and easy to communicate with. They cared for our pups like they were their own and kept us updated with regular pictures and messages, which we really appreciated. Our dogs looked so happy and comfortable the entire time — they especially loved spending time with their sweet dog Chloe! We would absolutely book with them again and highly recommend them!”

“Elisa was an amazing dog sitter for Coco! From the start, she was friendly, communicative, and clearly experienced with dogs. Coco can sometimes be a little shy at first, but Elisa was patient and quickly made her feel comfortable and cared for. Throughout the stay, Elisa kept me updated with messages and photos, which really gave me peace of mind. It was clear Coco was happy, well-exercised, and getting lots of attention. When I picked her up, she was relaxed and in great spirits. I’m so grateful for the care Elisa gave Coco and would absolutely trust her again in the future. Highly recommend Elisa to anyone looking for a reliable, kind, and attentive dog sitter!”

“We are so happy and grateful for Leanne! She was absolutely amazing looking after and taking care of our big boy Oakley! She sent us daily updates with photos and we can definitely tell he had such an awesome time with Leanne! Highly recommended and we can’t wait to board Oakley with her again!”

“Francie and her daughter are wonderful! She was able to take my dog last minute. Ella was well taken care of, loved and happy. You can tell that Francie is definitely a dog person! She provided many photos and updates daily. I think Ella had just as much fun on her vacation as we did! It was a relief to know she was being taken care of and also able to play with other dogs and people. A kennel would have charged me so much money and she’d be stuck in a 3x3 room all day and night. This was a much, much better option! Thank you so much for taking care of our girl. She came home happy and worn out!”

“This is my first time having my pup stay with Lauren and hopefully won’t be the last. My pup Liza looked so happy and kept going back to say goodbye when we left. Clearly she enjoyed her time and was very happy. I know my pup will be looking forward to the next time she is able to stay with Lauren!”

“I highly recommend Sonya and her family for pet sitting! I recently left my dog, Macario, with them while I was away camping for several days, and they took excellent care of him. It was clear from the updates and photos that he was comfortable, well-loved, and treated like part of the family. When I picked him up, he was happy, relaxed, and clearly had a great stay. They were easy to communicate with, responsive, and genuinely cared about making sure both Macario and I felt comfortable throughout the experience. As a dog mom, having peace of mind while you're away is priceless, and that's exactly what they provided. I'll definitely be using them again in the future. Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Macario!”

“We have never had anyone watch our pups before outside of our family. Having them with your care, any stress or worry out of our minds. Extraordinary service and very caring individuals would highly recommend. Thank you.”

“Katie is AMAZING!! This was the first time Guinness stayed with someone he didn’t know. She sent me pictures of him all weekend with updates on how he was doing, which really put my mind at ease and allowed me to enjoy my weekend away!!”

“Carolina watched our furbaby for 10 days while we were traveling overseas. She stayed in contact and sent daily photos of our sweet girl. This is my first time using Rover and I recommend her 1000%! We will definitely be using her again for any future trips.”

“Asia was so sweet and professional. When we first arrived Asia and her fur baby Crypto welcome us. Asia made my lil boy (Biskit) feel so at home. I asked Asia to send me text, pictures, and videos, and she did just that. That really made my heart fill of joy to see pictures and videos of my lil boy(Biskit) and to know that he was well taken care of. We thank you so much Asia from the bottom of our hearts 💕 Sylvia and Antwon Dudley.”

“Sarah opened her home to my girls and made them comfortable. They usually go to their granny's but all were going on this trip, so it was a very big deal for them to stay elsewhere. They played, walked, rested, and probably were questioning coming home, they were given so much attention. Sarah shared photos and even with a snowstorm ensured they were safe and had fun. I was very pleased. We will call upon sarah again!”

“Lindsey was awesome with Cane. She and her pups greeted us at the door, which made it easier for my pup to feel happy about me leaving. She let him be comfortable and he definitely made himself comfortable! She was sweet, and kept great communication! And very flexible with me. We'll definitely reach out to her again”

About: I managed a facility where I was in charge of boarding dogs of all sizes and taking care of them for about 3 years. I also occasionally volunteer at animal shelters and I love each and every single dog so much! I’m trained in giving medication, bathing, feeding and taking care of the over all health of your dog. I also do well with most aggressive dogs. I’d love so much to meet your pets :) I work a full time job, and I am off every day by 2pm. My job is flexible, so I can also leave early whenever I want. I enjoy having lots of daylight left when I get off work so I can walk and take care of dogs! I have 2 dogs who LOVE making new friends. I have a big fenced backyard that is perfect for the pups to run around. We play outside often and go for lots of walks!
“Loki (European Doberman) spend the day and night with Kelly. She was very good with communicating how he was doing throughout the day. I would recommend her for your pet sitting needs”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Grafton home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Grafton.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Grafton sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in IL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
