“Jessie is the best! My cat can be very anxious around new people, but Jessie made it so easy for my senior cat (14 years old) to come to her and made her feel very comfortable. Plus, Jessie is very respectful of my home and my privacy. I appreciate her professional cat-sitting services. I already have Jessie booked for future services. :)”

“Mariah was GREAT! She watched our cats while we took a holiday trip this Thanksgiving and she was very attentive, caring, kind, and even sent us photos of our babies while we were gone! It was so reassuring knowing they were in such great hands! She is an animal lover who is currently studying to work with animals as well! We loved her care so much that we booked her for another vacation where we will be out of town! She will treat your pets the way you would treat them, it comes very natural to her!”

About: 🐾 A Lifetime of Love, Now Sharing It Through Rover Hi! I’m Isaac, and I’ve been caring for dogs for over 9 years. Before joining Rover, I worked for free because I simply love animals and wanted to help people in my community. Over time, my passion grew into a professional career where I get to do what I love every day — caring for dogs and making pet parents’ lives easier. I’m also an up-and-coming book writer, which means I’m extremely organized, focused, and detail-oriented. I take notes on every dog I care for so I can fully understand their personality, quirks, and needs. I always do meet & greets before starting any job so that your pet feels comfortable and you can feel confident that they’re in safe hands. I’m calm, patient, and dependable, even in the most stressful or chaotic situations — whether it’s handling a dozen energetic pups, an overly affectionate dog, or cleaning up big messes (which I always do so well you’d never know it happened!). I can handle pregnant dogs, multiple pets, and any breed, and I even offer free basic training for dogs who need a little help with manners — as long as they’re not aggressive. I understand all a dog’s cues — when they’re happy, nervous, or uneasy — and I always listen to what they’re trying to communicate. I take pride in the fact that I’ve never failed a single dog I’ve worked with, no matter how challenging the job was. The only pets I don’t take are aggressive or unpredictable dogs that have a tendency to bite, nip. My goal is to create a safe, loving, and positive experience for every animal I care for. I’m quick to respond to requests and open to long-term clients who want a sitter they can rely on year-round. If you’re looking for someone who’s passionate, responsible, and treats your pets like family, I’d love to be your go-to sitter! 🐶💙 Hi there! I’m so excited to be offering my dog sitting, walking, and drop-in services here on Rover. While I may be new to the platform, I’m definitely not new to caring for dogs! For the past 9 years, I’ve been the go-to dog sitter for family, friends, and neighbors — caring for pups of all ages, breeds, and personalities. Over the years, I’ve learned that every dog is wonderfully unique — and they deserve care that’s just as personal. Whether it’s a drop-in visit for some playtime and cuddles, a long refreshing walk, or overnight house sitting, I make sure every pet feels loved, safe, and understood. Here’s what makes my care a little different: 🐶 Heartfelt, Personalized Attention I don’t just “check in” — I connect. I take time to learn each dog’s quirks, favorite games, and comfort zones. Whether your dog is shy, energetic, or needs a little extra patience, I adjust my approach to make them feel completely at ease. 🚶 Walks That Nurture Mind & Body Walks with me are more than just a potty break — they’re time for enrichment, sniffing adventures, and positive energy. I match your dog’s pace and personality to make each walk both fun and fulfilling. 🏡 Respectful, Reliable Care at Home When I’m in your home, you can trust I’ll treat it — and your pets — with the same care and respect I give my own. You’ll always receive clear communication, photo updates, and peace of mind knowing your furry friend is happy and well cared for. ❤️ Built on Experience, Fueled by Love I’ve spent nearly a decade caring for dogs simply because I love it. Now, joining Rover lets me do what I love most — bringing comfort, joy, and trust to pets and their people. Your dog isn’t just another booking — they become part of my extended furry family. If you’re looking for someone who truly cares, not just someone who “sits,” I’d love to meet your pup! 🐾 🕓 Availability & Scheduling I aim to make pet care as flexible and stress-free as possible for every family I work with. 🐾 Drop-In Visits: Available any day and time — except on major family holidays. I’m happy to accommodate morning, midday, or evening visits to fit your dog’s routine. 🏡 House Sitting: I’m available for overnight or extended stays anytime. I just ask for at least one day’s notice so I can plan accordingly and give your pet my full attention. 🚶 Dog Walks: I offer walks daily between 3:00 PM and 11:00 PM — perfect for after-work strolls, evening walks, or nighttime potty breaks. Please note: I do not offer walks past 11:00 PM. Communication and consistency are important to me, so I always confirm bookings promptly and keep you updated with messages and photos during my visits. My goal is to give you total peace of mind — knowing your pets are cared for with reliability, love, and respect for your schedule. Hello! Im Isaac, a dedicated dog lover who is passionate about providing top-notch care for your furry family members. Whether you’re heading out for a short trip or need regular help with your pup, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved in your absence. With 9 years of experience caring for dogs of all sizes and breeds, I understand that each dog is unique, and I take the time to learn their personality, needs, and routines. From playful walks to quiet cuddle sessions, I ensure your dog gets plenty of attention, exercise, and mental stimulation. You can trust me to: Provide a safe, secure environment for your dog Follow any specific care instructions (feeding, medication, special needs, etc.) Keep your dog active and engaged with walks, playtime, and interactive activities Send regular updates and pictures so you can see how your dog is doing I know how much your dog means to you, and I treat every pup in my care like my own. Your pet’s well-being is my top priority.

About: My family had puppy dog named Hazel who we had for about 3 years. I used to play fetch with her in the backyard when I’d come home from school when I was around 10. I’d help with baths, walking her, my mom taught me how bring her inside when I was home alone doing homework, she behaved great and protected me well. A few years later, she passed from choking while eating something that I think had a bone in it and that was the first experience of heartbreak/loss. A few years after that, I adopted my current pet cat on my birthday, Ace, who I love so much. I’ve always loved animals and give pets to dogs whenever I have permission to, my best friend has many dogs so when I go over her house, I get all the cuddles and get drooled on, which I’m used to at this point. I love watching dog training videos and educating myself as I get older so when I finally get a dog again, as an adult, I want to be prepared and educated on how to protect their health, feed them properly and keep them safe with proper nutrition, exercise and training. I would personally love to get myself a Doberman or German Shepherd (Like Hazel was). I often go to my aunts house who has multiple chunky french bulldogs and help her in anyway I can, I enjoy how sweet dogs are and would love to help do any training techniques you’d love your little doggo to be working on while you are away. I am also in the process of my goal of losing 100lbs! So this helps me get the exercise I need while doing something I’m passionate about! Weekday and Weekends for now, preferably during the Morning & Afternoons on Weekdays and anytime as long as there is a day notice beforehand so I can clear my schedule just for your pet. Not currently doing pet sitting or boarding at my own home, maybe I will be more likely to in the future but I’m not sure yet.

About: Dogs aren’t just a job for me — they’re genuinely my passion. I spent 7 years as a dog hotel manager, caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities every single day. I’ve worked with energetic puppies, sweet senior dogs, and dogs with disabilities who need extra patience and specialized care. I’m comfortable administering medications, following detailed feeding routines, and making sure each dog feels safe, understood, and loved. I take pride in reading body language, keeping dogs on a consistent routine, and giving them the right balance of structure, play, and affection. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priority, and I’ll treat them like family. Plus, every dog gets a free bath after every stay! I currently own a mobile dog bathing business on the weekends, so I am only available Mon-Thurs, dogs are my life, and I travel anywhere in Victorville, Hesperia, Adelanto, and Apple Valley! With all of my experience at multiple dog hotels, I can safely say I have seen it all and feel extremely comfortable with all dog breeds, sizes, and personalities.

About: I provide reliable care for both cats and dogs backed by years of hands-on work. My goal is a comfortable, no-stress experience for both you and your pet. I’ve worked with several animal rescues over the years and regularly foster animals in need. I’ve handled animals with many kinds of special needs, from bottle-feeding kittens to administering mediations to seniors. I also care for feral cats, so animals who are feisty don’t faze me! I truly love getting to know each pet I watch and making them feel as comfortable as possible while their family is away. I do my best to keep your pet(s) on their usual routine while you’re away, and always provide them with loving care. I’m patient and adaptable, personalizing care to each pet, whether that means playtime, cozy snuggles, or just keeping a calm presence nearby. I’m happy to communicate updates as much or as little as you prefer, and will send you photos so you can relax knowing your pets are safe and comfortable. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or special requests. I’m always open to discussing pricing, availability or anything else you’d like more information on. Talk soon! I work from home and caring for pets and is my top priority. I try to stick as close to your pet’s usual routine as possible. When boarding your pet, I provide a dedicated, comfortable space just for them, with everything they need to feel safe and at home. Each pet gets their own room (unless there are multiple from the same household) in a sanitized area, complete with cozy bedding, toys, and anything specific to their care. For dogs, I have a spacious, secure backyard where they can enjoy playtime and walks. I take the time to ensure they’re comfortable, relaxed, and loved while they’re away from home. When caring for your pet at your home, I stick to their routine, including feeding, medication, and plenty of playtime and affection. I respect your home and any guidelines you provide, making sure your pet feels safe, secure, and cherished while you’re away. And if you’d like, I’ll gladly share photo or video updates with you! I know how hard it is missing your babies when you’re away, and I’d love to help you feel at ease and show you they’re being well cared for.

About: I have taken care of pets basically my entire life, of course I have had to learn and improve my skills from when I was younger. My family members have many pets which they rely on me to take care of when they are unable to. I am also going to school for a degree in biological sciences in hopes to find a career as a vet tech or anything which will allow me to work closely with animals. :) I am a 4th year biological science major at UC Merced. I hope to pursue a career which will allow me to work with animals closely while also spending time outdoors. I also am very interested in learning about animal husbandry and pet care. I love taking walks in the mornings and evenings, perfect for when dogs need to go potty! My services are mostly in clients’ homes because I have two cats and a small house which will not be big enough for larger animals like dogs. The way I care for pets in clients’ homes will be up to the client themselves as every pet parent has different ground rules and boundaries for their fur babies. I will do the basics like feeding and playing but will refrain from most other things unless requested to avoid stepping over boundaries, especially in other people’s homes.

About: New to Rover?! Enjoy $40 off on me: https://www.rover.com/sit/valerg17575 As someone working in healthcare, compassion and a desire to help others are central to who I am, qualities I bring into every pet care experience. I've grown up with dogs my whole life, but my bond with my soul dog, Copper, was something truly special. When Copper became sick, I cared for him with patience, love, and unwavering dedication—doing everything I could to make him comfortable and happy. That experience deepened my understanding of how important pets are to their families; they’re not “just pets,” they’re family. I treat every dog in my care with the same level of kindness and attentiveness I gave Copper. Safety is always my top priority, and I’m always learning and growing so I can provide the best care possible. Whether it’s a walk, playtime, or quiet companionship, your pet will be loved and looked after like one of my own. I work full-time in healthcare Monday through Friday so I’m available for dog walks on weekday evenings around 5 PM with the exception of: (spring, summer, Thanksgiving, and winter break where I am available 7 days a week. On weekends, I have more flexibility and can offer walks, drop-in visits, and boarding. I’m available for boarding from Friday evening through Sunday, as well as drop-in visits on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend walks can be scheduled at any time, based on your pet’s needs. I do my best to accommodate each family’s schedule and provide dependable, loving care every time! Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. Our home has a fully fenced yard where dogs can enjoy supervised outdoor time, and we’re located near two parks that are perfect for peaceful walks. There’s also a nearby dog park for more active play, depending on your dog’s needs and energy level. Dogs are always welcome inside our home, though we kindly keep them off the furniture to maintain a clean and respectful space. We take pride in keeping our home safe, tidy, and pet-friendly, so your furry friend will always feel secure and cared for while staying with us.

I have 6 dogs from small to large here with me and I treat them as if they were my own babies and I will treat your loving pet like I would do my own. I am home 24/7 now do to some issues but that only leaves me open to come and help take care of your pet when needed. I am single and no kids so I am able and open any time day or night. I love all kinds of animals (except bugs lol) I have taken care of fish, tortoise, dogs, cats, bearded dragon. I care for my pets with lots of love and attention. FAQs for Pet Sitting - Golden Valley Acres

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
