“I couldn't be happier with the care my dog received. Sam is kind, trustworthy, and treated my boy like their own. Communication was great, and it was obvious they genuinely love animals. I will definitely be using their services again!”
“Anabela was at my house over the holidays and dropped in on my 3 cats twice a day. This was my first experience with Anabela and she was AMAZING!! I have OCD so I am very detailed about everything. She followed my instructions to a tee! She communicated effectively and provided great pictures. My cats loved her and so do I. I highly recommend Anabela for your pets.”

About: Not to brag or anything, but I’ve always considered myself an animal whisperer! 😝 Growing up with lots of animals, now raising two of my own, plus working part-time for a local Golden Retriever breeder, dogs are my jam! Whether your pup(s) need an energetic outdoor walk, specialized care, or just a cozy cuddle session, I’ll love and care for them like my very own! 😍🦮 My work schedule rotates weekly, leaving plenty of open times for walks and check-ins. Just message me your dates, and we can easily work out a timeline that fits! I naturally have a 'leave the world better than I found it' mindset! You can trust me to be super clean, respectful of your space, ultra-mindful of your pet's safety, and quick to keep you updated (yay pictures/videos) while you're away!
“Amara was amazing! Even got my reclusive cat Soeren to come out for treats. Lily, of course, was her usual extroverted self and came out for lovies. So sad we only got to try her services once, but we will definitely recommend her to friends.”

Your furry friends will receive personalized attention, plenty of playtime, and a safe, comfortable environment when they're with me. I am currently working part-time and have plenty of time for hanging around with pups! I also attend my local community college part-time. I do have a different work schedule each week but I am more than willing to arrange a schedule for your pups needs! I used to show my past dog in 4-h shows and dog agility. I am available Sunday and Saturdays from 8:00 am - 8:00 pm. I can be available for weekdays however I work a job and would not be able to provide care past 7:00 pm. I keep my eyes on my dog and cats. I am careful about not leaving things out they can get ahold of and I am careful about their health as well!
“Bree is very knowledgeable, gives thorough updates, and takes lots of pictures! At one of her first drop in visits, she had to deal with a messy situation with our pup and she handled it like he was her own. We love having someone we can trust take care of our fur babies and we are looking forward to continuing to work with her ❤️”

“I found Garrett at the last minute. He was very accommodating and did a meet and greet with Buddy that lasted over an hour. He took great care of Buddy on his drop-in visits. I would certainly recommend Garrett.”
About: I have owned pets all my life and always hated boarding my pets due to the stress they endure thats why I offer my services. I also offer care for cats and small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs ect. As of right now I am available anytime. Ive worked at vet clinics and volunteered at shelters. Ive taken care of senior dogs, hyper and young dogs. Also have administered meds to animals. Recently I have watched farm animals such as chickens,goats,horses and a Llama. I currently have 4 dogs of my own and 2 of my moms dogs. We have 1 cat. Ive had several dogs and 2 other cats in the past as well as 2 rabbits. I also have been petsitting since 2012 and have refrences. I do walks with dogs. I also offer nail trims, brush outs ECT. If you would like to know more please message me and I would be happy to answer. I do also have a Facebook page Howling Hounds Pet Care. Unfortunately my prices have increased due to Rover taking 20%. Please note i am willing to work with people on pricing if contacted PRIOR to services. I am currently doing this as my full time employment as I go to school for pet grooming in the spring. I am an owner to 4 crazy beagles so I know what it's like to make sure pets have the stress free environment when we are gone. All pet care is done in the client's home. This creates more calmness within the pet and less stress. They can be where they are used to.

I have watched and cared for so many animals in my life and I love every min of it. I am currently a kennel supervisor, doggy daycare attendant, and a petcare specialist at a pet boarding facility in fort wayne. I truly love my job and all our clients that i deal with everyday. I couldn't be happier than I am right now working with animals. I am also a wildlife rehabilitator I have always dreamt of doing what I'm doing right now. Taking care of animals isn't what I do it's who I am. I work with and around animals everyday either here at home with my 5 dogs, 3 cats, 3 coons, and 2 squirrels or at Work. If at your home I will care for them the only way I know how to like they were my own. I will strive to make them the happiest furbabies while your away. I can't wait to be able to spoil your furbaby till you return home.
“Makayla has been absolutely perfect. She has been doing drop-ins for my cat and dog. Responsible, timely, communicative, and so much more. She’s a sitter you can count on to go above and beyond. She had been sending so many pictures/videos of my fur babies and I’m so extremely grateful for that. She’s super flexible as my schedule was a bit chaotic so I loved that too. I would 100% book her again. My animals seemed to love her!”

About: Howdy, my name is Josie! A little about me is I love to hike, fish, anything outdoors, and I have my blue belt in Jitsu. My history with animals began when I was younger, I grew up taking care of dogs all my life and am super confident in my ability to take care of yours! I dogsit regularly for friends and family, and also on Rover. I’d love to take your dogs on hikes or walks around the neighborhood, or just help you take care of them during your busy time! My schedule is fully open to your dogs care, I will always put your dog first. I love to be active so in the morning we’d go for a walk and at the end of the day. Currently my dogs are back in Indiana with my ma, but they are spoiled rotten. They have acres of land to run on and have a diet better than mine! Currently I have a home that has a fenced in yard and a park/walkway right next door so your pet will have plenty of outdoor time!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
