“Hazbleydy I. & her husband were great! My dog can be very anxious and is usually not fond of new people but she had a great time at their house. Hazbleydy kept me updated with pictures the entire time, and even went out to get supplies for my dog that had ran out of during the stay. I would highly recommend her!”

“Kimberley did an amazing job keeping us updated with a lot of detail and photos of our dogs! One of ours is a mill rescue who needs a lot of extra patience and care and Kimberley did an excellent job accommodating her and helping her adjust. Would recommend!!”

“Avery was a Godsend to us!! She and her family treated Cocoa as if she was part of their family. She sent me messages throughout her stay letting us know how Cocoa was doing and little bits of information that we loved! We would definitely book her again!”

“Ronald and his family could not have been better sitters for our 2 labs. They were so thoughtful and provided a loving home for our pups while we were away. I will definitely continue to book Ronald on future trips.”

“Paige, Stephen and family cared for our dog, Duncan, so well! He became part of their family while we were gone and I could tell that Duncan was thriving while with them. He especially loved playing with their kids which helped keep his sense of normalcy compared to our home! Would definitely recommend this family to anyone :)”
“Ryan was incredibly accommodating of our dog who we’re learning has some more-than-mild separation anxiety. He made her feel right at home and provided a very comforting environment for her. Will definitely be reaching out again for boarding in the future!”

About: I have 2 dogs and a cat, and have had 8 dogs, 22 cat ,12 birds, and a goat at the same time growing up and I took care of them all. I can walk any dog no problem have been training our puppy to walk around loose lease. I’m a stay at home mom of 3. So I can drop in as much as needed. I have worked with very skittish dogs on multiple occasions. I will take “aggressive” dogs as a case by case. I have been taking care of animals for most of my life. It started by cleaning litter boxes and giving cats water to taking care of 43 animals by myself. I volunteered at different animal shelters in the different places I have lived at. My husband use to be a K9 handler in the Air force, So I learned training Techniques from him and trained my Golden Retriever with the things I have learned. I am a stay at home mom. We have Our normal Appointments that I am not available for but while they are in school I am Home most days. I have a fenced yard and plenty of room for them to play. We love to just sit around and hang out with our animals, so we would Treat your pets just like ours.
“April was a great puppy sitter. I have a 4 month old miniature poodle. HOLLY. Holly fell in love with April. I can tell Holly was very well cared for. I will be using her again. Highly recommend. I loved she sent Pics daily.”

“Susan we great with our oddball fogs, Baxter and Wiley. Both dogs have anxiety issues and Susan was great to make them as comfortable as can be. She had 2 other dogs that she was sitting at the time and Baxter loved running the yard with them both. Wiley seemed to like the recliners in her “dog pad” in the basement. Without a doubt, we will call on Susan again!”

“Michael was amazing with our dogs!!! They were clearly well cared for while we were gone. He sent lots of pictures as well so we knew they were having a good time. They had fun with Michael’s dogs and got walks as well. We will be using Michael in the future!”

“Susan and Steve kept our Archie for the weekend, and he had a wonderful time! They kept us updated with photos, and we really appreciate the care they gave him. Thank you both so much for taking such good care of our boy! Five stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

About: I currently work at a doggy daycare/boarding business in NKY, I’ve learned a lot from working there. My love for dogs has grown more than I could imagine. I’ve had many pets growing up and I now have two of my own. I have two dachshunds named Harmony and Hazel. My favorite pet I’ve ever owned was my chinchilla! Her name was Bella. A home is not the same without a pet. I currently work a part time job and know my schedule two weeks at a time. I also have a business and work from home for that. I know my schedule usually months ahead of time. With that being said, my schedule is flexible! I can work mornings, mid day and evenings. I have a large back yard and a cute neighborhood that I walk my two dogs around. I live close to a few parks. I also have a full finished basement so if you need your pet to be crated or would like for them have a large space to themselves I have plenty of room.

“Dalton goes the extra mile in making you and your dog feel comfortable. Very pleased with our experience and will definitely be reaching out again! Very accommodating service and excellent with high energy dogs!”

“Christina did an outstanding job with Frankie! She kept Frankie on almost the same schedule as we have here at home & sent us pictures of Frankie regularly so we knew she was doing okay. I will definitely use Christina again in the future.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Gertrude home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Gertrude.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Gertrude sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in KY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
