Belinda and James took wonderful care of our two pups! Lucy is our 14-year-old Westie who needs a little extra attention due to a medical condition, and Brandi is our energetic 3-year-old Poodle. We were visiting Scottsboro, Alabama for a wedding and love traveling with our dogs, but we didn’t want them staying alone in a hotel room for nearly 19 hours. Belinda and James were so accommodating and even allowed us to pick them up late after the wedding. Their kindness, flexibility, and attentive care made the experience stress-free and enjoyable for both us and our pups. We’re so grateful and highly recommend them! Thank you, Kathy

I’m so thankful for the amazing care Elysa gave my dog, Roxy! 🐾 From the moment they met, I could tell Roxy felt comfortable and happy. Elysa didn’t just pet sit, she went above and beyond. She took Roxy on relaxing strolls, kept me updated with the cutest pictures 📸, and even gave her a little grooming session to keep her looking her best! ✨ I could really tell that Roxy was loved and well cared for the whole time. I highly recommend Elysa to anyone looking for a kind, responsible, and genuinely caring pet sitter. Thank you so much again, Elysa! 🐶💛

Amber went out of her way to make Snowflake feel at home. She even went to the store and bought her some chicken to boil because she didn’t want to eat her dog food. She was good to keep in touch and answer my questions soon after I asked them. She is a great sitter for my girl! I hope to book her to keep Snowflake again soon. Thank you, Amber!

About: I have worked at a vets office going on 8 years now as a vet technician. I studied animal science at Auburn University. I have dog/cat sat for several years. I work an early shift as a superintendent. With my schedule I would still be able to do early early morning around 3/3:30 and mid afternoon check ins. I have 4 dogs that love to have friends to play with. I have a fenced in yard, but walk mine daily. I am a few minutes from Albertville’s Dog Park where my dogs love to go run and play.

About: I have had multiple dogs for decades. Dogs just seem to love me. I guess it's because they can tell I love them so much. I'm really good at taking care of things for your dog. I love walking them and playing. I don't even mind picking up the poop. I'm currently working part-time as a house cleaner. So I have flexibility in my schedule to take care of fur babies. Evenings and weekends are almost always open. I treat all dogs with kindness and respect. I would want others to take care of my babies that way. I always double check the food and water. If there are extra things needed, I make sure to get those done as well.

We left our German Shepherd with Christa and her family over the 4th of July wknd for 5 days. We couldn’t have been more happy with how his stay went. We received pictures and updates daily. We know Kane had a great time with her & the kids. They were very kind and welcoming when we arrived, we knew as soon as we dropped him off that he was in great hands! Highly recommend :)

Dasha (and her little lady) were fantastic! Not only did she take great care of my 150-lb beast of a lapdog, she also took great care of my home. My house and my pup…both were like I hadn’t been gone at all. It’s obvious she treats the dogs in her care with lots of love and laughter. I can’t recommend her strongly enough!

Mya is a wonderful sitter for our precious pup. She is our go-to without question! Her environment is a real home with real interaction, not a kennel. That is important to me. Thank you, Mya! You are an angel….really!

Makaylah was absolutely amazing. She allowed Blu time to warm up and feel comfortable. I really hate to leave Blu with a sitter or kennel, however I was able to leave Blu with confidence of him being well taken care of. I will definitely rebook with Makaylah!

About: I’ve taken care of animals since the young age of 10 and have always been an animal lover of all animals and have owned several dogs. I have always trained my own from potty training, crate training, to shaking hands, and have always done amazing with them. I’ve rescued several animals and strays. I absolutely love all fur babies and enjoy taking them on hikes and would love to take your fur baby on a hike or to play fetch. I work a full time job Monday-Wednesday with having a very short work day on Thursdays. I always have the spare time throughout my off days and will be able to take good care of your fur babies at all times. I have a huge yard with one fur baby that could keep yours company. My fur baby is friendly and would love to have a play date. I also can easily crate your animal if i ever needed to do so.

About: Dedicated and trusted dog professional with 20+ years of experience offering knowledgeable, structured, attentive, and reliable care for dogs of all ages, behaviors, and routines. Pet care isn’t an add-on to my schedule—it is my schedule. I structure my days around walks, feedings, training, and enrichment so dogs get consistent care, calm handling, and predictable routines. Each visit is planned, not rushed, and adjusted to the dog’s needs, energy level, and household expectations. Weekly, I build in flexibility for longer stays, special needs, and last-minute requests while maintaining reliability and communication. Dogs thrive on consistency, and my routine is built to provide exactly that. I provide structured, attentive care tailored to each pet and household—whether in my home or a client’s. In a client’s home, I follow the pet’s established routine for feeding, walks, medications, and enrichment to minimize stress. I focus on calm, confident handling, safety, and clear communication, with updates after each visit. In my home, pets receive a quiet, controlled environment with supervised interactions, structured rest, exercise, and individualized attention. I don’t do chaos or overcrowding—safety, cleanliness, and consistency come first. Across all services, I prioritize reliability, observation, and proactive care so issues are addressed early, not after they become problems.

About: I have had dogs my whole life, starting with a German shepherd mix when I was 8 years old. I have experience with dogs of all energy levels. I currently own two high drive, high energy border collies and 3 papillons. I am a member of a local obedience club and actively train in barn hunt, disc, and flyball. My dogs also have several obedience and trick titles, so your dog may come home knowing more tricks! I also have experience with exotic animals. I currently own several crested geckos and have owned bearded dragons, a uromastyx, and a chameleon in the past. Crate trained dogs only please! I am currently a stay at home mom so I will have plenty of time to play and train your four legged babies. I am very flexible with schedules. I have a fenced in yard and friendly dogs to keep your dog company. I also have 3 kids (7,12, and 16) who love animals to play with. My children have been taught how to be respectful to all animals.

About: I am very attentive to all animals. I allow animals in the house, and on the furniture. I have a dog that gets along great with other animals. I am willing to feed, and groom. I am easy going, and am very easy to get along with. I am very accommodating to every need that your sweet pet may need. If there are any medications or a certain diet that must be followed, I will make sure it happens. I have references to ease your mind, and to reassure you that your baby is in good hands. I can’t wait to work with you and your sweet babies! Hope to hear from you soon! I have a schedule that is different from most. I am a paramedic, so I work 24 hours at a time and off 48 hours. I am also active and looking for things to do on my two days off. My kids and I enjoy animals so much that we would love to bring a new friend around in our home. I am willing to keep whatever schedule your baby has going as normal as possible for them. I will feed and administer medication as needed. They have free range of the house and a yard to go potty.

FAQs for Dog Boarding - Geraldine

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 41 sitters on Rover offering Dog Boarding across Geraldine. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Geraldine home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Geraldine.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Geraldine sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in AL ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
