Crissy is a knowledgeable and professional dog sitter. She was able to easily navigate our different dynamics, having a newly adopted dog who is still getting used to her new home & also an energetic fun-loving hound who can be a lot to handle. Crissy came and handled them with ease. Even took them on walks and sent plenty of pictures and updates. We are so glad we found her!

Everyone has their own needs that I make sure are filled each and everyday, from exercise all the way down to food. Pet care is definitely an everyday thing for me ! Whether it be my own pets or someone else’s. I’m available most all of the time ! We may not have a fenced in yard but as someone who has 2 dogs who can be off leash and 1 who cannot , I have taken every safety precaution I can to ensure everyone’s safety. We have an aerial runner and a normal runner set up with plans to have a fence put up! We also go on walks to ensure appropriate exercise. Everyone each separately and everyone’s meals are catered to their specific needs.

Janelle was an absolute blessing to our family! She took exceptional care of our three rambunctious mini dachshunds, giving us complete peace of mind so we could fully relax and enjoy our 30th anniversary trip to Mexico. Throughout our time away, she kept us updated with thoughtful communication and plenty of photos of our fur babies, which meant so much to us. When we returned home, we were amazed to find the house not only spotless but actually cleaner than when we left. She had even organized my disaster of a pantry—something I had been putting off for far too long! Her attention to detail and willingness to help in every way are truly remarkable. And as if that weren't enough, she welcomed us home with a delicious pasta dish and a loaf of homemade bread. That level of thoughtfulness and generosity is rare and speaks volumes about the kind of person she is. Janelle went far beyond anything we could have expected. She served our family with such kindness, care, and grace, and was truly the hands and feet of Jesus during a time when we needed it most. We are incredibly grateful for her and cannot recommend her highly enough. ❤️

About: I was raised on a dairy farm, and I've always had a soft spot for animals. I've had dogs for as long as I can remember, and my pups live the good life. Yours can too! I've got plenty of experience taking care of older dogs. No worries about things like CCD, incontinence, special diets, or medications - I've got it all covered! Thank you for your consideration I am a stay-at-home mum to my dogs. My life revolves around my dogs. The first potty break is at 5 AM. Yours will fit in just fine. I have a fenced-in backyard but also an acre of unfenced yard that I use to walk dogs on leash. It's a great place for dogs to go and explore new smells.

About: I am a long time pet owner with hands on experience caring for dogs, cats, and fish. I understand how important it is to feel confident and comfortable when leaving your pet in someone else's care. I currently have two pets of my own and I am very attentive to routines, personalities, and individual needs. I have experience with daily care tasks such as feeding, walks, litter box maintenance, playtime, brushing, and providing companionship. I'm comfortable with pets who need a little extra patients, including senior pets, shy cats, and animals who prefer calm, consistent care. I approach pet sittign the way I would want someone to care for my own pets. What sets me apart is my calm, dependable approach and strong focus on trust. I'm organized, communicative, and respectful of both pets and homes. I currently work full time during the day Monday-Friday. I offer pet sitting services such as check ins before and after work on weekdays. I also will consider overnight house/pet sitting in the local area through the week. I am willing to do overnight house/pet sitting at greater distances on Friday and Saturday nights. I don't rush visits, and I take time to make sure pets feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. I'm especially mindful of routines and instructions, and I provide updates so owners feel reassured while they're away. I work best with clients who value reliability, clear expectations, and thoughtful care over a one-size-fits-all approach.

About: I've been taking care of dogs for many years and have experience with dogs of different sizes, breeds, and personalities. I've helped with feeding, walking, playtime, administering basic care, and making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their owners are away. I'm attentive to each dog's personal routine and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and clear communications with pet owners! Pets care fits naturally into my routine. As a collage student, I have a flexible schedule, with classes only three days out of the week for a very short time. This allows me to provide dependable care throughout the week, including walks, drop-in visits, feeding, playtime, and quality time with pets. When caring for pets in a clients home, I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and routine. I carefully follow all instructions regarding feeding, medications (if needed), exercise, and special care requirements. I make sure pets have plenty of attention, playtime, and affection while respecting their individual boundaries. I also treat every home with the utmost respect by keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as I found it. I'll provide regular photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while your away!

About: With over a decade of experience in animal husbandry, I care for pets of all ages and species. I’ve provided reliable pet sitting through college and now as a biology professor, handling everything from daily routines to medications and special needs. My goal is to keep your pets comfortable, happy, and cared for just as if you were home. Flexible for mornings, nights, and extended stays. I teach from morning to midday on weekdays. I usually wake up early to spend time with client’s pets or my own and have plenty of time to work in enrichment time and meals in the evening. It’s very important to me to provide a sense of normalcy to your pet. I may start out as a stranger but your pet and I will soon become best buds. I keep a strict schedule for check ins and they very quickly pick up that I’m keeping with the program and this eliminates a lot of their stress. I prefer to stay in your home and stick to your walk schedule (unless you’d like a field trip to a walking trail) so that the only change they have to deal with is missing you!

FAQs for House Sitting - Fruithurst

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 160 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fruithurst. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fruithurst walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fruithurst maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fruithurst choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
