“We’d used Bonnie for over-night pet care. Bonnie was attentive to the needs of our dogs and dependable. When something unusual came up, she was able to make things work. We plan to use her in the future.”

“Kayla did an amazing job accommodating all of our requests and made us feel very comfortable leaving our boys with her! She kept us updated and sent us all the pictures we asked for. The dogs were so comfortable I’m not even sure they realized we were gone. We will definitely be using her in the future!”

“Kinzley was great with our Joscoe! He loves her and we know she spoiled him while we were gone. We felt very comfortable with her staying in our home and caring for our big boy. Highly recommend her for your house sitting/pet sitting needs.”
“Leigha took wonderful care of our cat and our home! She sent daily videos, photos and texts of our fur baby. She came over for a meet and greet ahead of the stay, and asked lots of questions to ensure our cat would be happy and comfortable. She practiced putting him on a leash (not everyone walks their cat!) and took him out for a stroll. We really appreciated her attention to detail. She only sits for one family at a time so she could give her full attention to our cat. We could relax on vacation knowing she was spending the night and caring for our kitty. Thanks, Leigha!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs of all ages and personalities — from energetic puppies who need endless playtime to senior pups who just want a cozy nap buddy. I grew up around animals, and I know every dog has their own quirks, routines, and favorite toys. Whether it’s long walks, belly rubs, or just keeping their tails wagging while you’re away, I make sure every pup feels safe, loved, and right at home. ❤️ I’m currently working 9-5 but always have time during the day to take care of your pups! I can’t provide potty breaks on lunch and more! I have a fenced in yard and three dogs of my own to keep yours company! I can also kennel your pup if needed during times I am away.
About: I am a certified animal lover- newly retired non-profit director who loves to care for animals and loves the outdoors! I will care for your loved ones as I care for my own! I'm very active and newly retired! I've wanted to work with animals all my life. I'd be happy to met your fur family and care for them as I do my own! I have an open backyard with a dog run or a Dogwatch (warning beep only) and a lovely sunroom for them. I can also come to your home. I am newly retired and flexible!
About: I LOVE all dogs! I have had a dog in my life since I was 4, with large and medium sizes being my bread and butter. I know the little dogs can be timid but I can snuggle them until they tolerate me 😬. I am a millennial dog/cat mom, so you know I love scritches, belly rubs, snuggles, and giving treat-o’s. My dog doesn’t fetch but I’ll play with yours til the cows come home! I worked for a dog groomer as the bathing attendant for two summers as a kid, so if your babies need a quick bath while I’m there, depending on how they can handle it with a new person, I am available. I’m versed in giving pets medication, so no need to worry if your pupper needs a little something to help them stay healthy! I work from home full time currently, but if I need to leave during the day to go check on your fur baby/they’re on a bathroom/medication schedule, my boss is very lenient and lets me make up time. Walks would primarily only be available in the afternoons/evenings to avoid the heat around here. I am very organized and like to write down any rules/quirks/schedules that your pet needs to be on. I’m also not afraid to ask/answer questions, so if you’re open to conversations via the app, I’m your girl!
“First time to have Justin take care of my two dogs. They were well cared for, really appreciated not having to leave their home and very happy. Justin is friendly, listens and follows instructions and dependable. I will use his services many times in the future.”
“Monique provided chicken care to our flock of hens, and cat care to our family of four cats while we traveled for 11 days. She owns chickens too and I had confidence as soon as I met her that our little farm would be in good hands. Monique adjusted nicely to unexpected situations that popped up -- equipment malfunctions, cat shinanagans, and a broody chicken. I had no worries trusting her decisions. She gave our animals lots of love and I enjoyed her updates and photos. I highly recommend Monique and will certainly call on her again.”

I live with my husband, Jason, and share our home with our three cats- Bones, Minx and Tiko- and our two beloved rescue pups, Sadie and Lil Bit! I’ve been surrounded by family pets for as long as I can remember, and caring for animals is my priority and passion! I have enjoyed the wonderful opportunity of working with pets every day, and I am excited to offer quality home visits- with time for play and walks - and of course, treats (if allowed) -with lots of pets and snuggles! Animals are the true joy of the world, wouldn't you agree?! Please let me know if you are interested in allowing me the opportunity to pet sit and care for your pet! I currently have open availability, most days of the week, but I do work a part time job from 9am to 2pm Mon thru Fri, so my availability is flexible around that. I am always willing to work with what you and your pet may need, in order to provide them with the best experience and give the most loving care possible while you are away, but please be aware I will be away for a small portion of the day. I appreciate any insight into your pets typical daily routine, and I will always attempt to follow any specific instructions given closely. I realize how important it is for your pet(s) to recieve consistent care, and I strive to provide your pet(s) with a stress-free transition with minimal disruption while away from their pet parent.
“Mary did an amazing job taking care of our senior dog, Chestnut! She followed all of our care instructions extremely well and was so attentive to his needs. She sent regular updates and pictures, which gave us so much peace of mind, and even took him on a walk—something he absolutely loves. We also came home to a house that was cleaner than when we left it, which was such a nice surprise. Mary was on time, easy to communicate with, and truly went above and beyond. We would absolutely recommend her and will definitely be working with her again!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Fort Smith
As a VERY attached, semi-neurotic pet mom, with needy doggos, I felt much more at ease knowing my babies were in the hands of Bonnie. She went above and beyond to reassure me and give my dogs the attention and time they need and deserve in my absence this weekend. So thankful for her and would 100% rebook with her.

Linda was absolutely wonderful with Leeloo and Sweeney! She watched them for 6 days, and I came home to two incredibly happy, well-exercised dogs. On top of taking such great care of my pups, she left my house spotlessly clean. I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter and will definitely be booking her again. Highly recommend!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Fort Smith on Rover is $36.63 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 75 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fort Smith. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fort Smith walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fort Smith maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fort Smith choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fort Smith. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 90% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
