“Mason did a great job pet-sitting our dogs! She is very kind and our pups love her! She is reliable, kept the house tidy, and communicated with us very consistently!”

“Everything went fine. Certainly was great to find her in a late minute jam. She made it very accommodating. Her love for Carmie was genuine! Great experience! ??”

About: I would love to be considered to watch your fur baby!! I love them like my own, and make sure to take care of them like my own :) I currently do photography for income, so I’m pretty much available whenever I do like to keep weekends open as much as possible, but during the day and maybe a few times during the week evenings, I am available!! I make sure to keep an eye out on your dog 24/7 to make sure they don’t get into something they’re not supposed to and to make sure that they are happy and active or taking a nap!
“I cannot say enough how happy I was with Blakey! It was our first time leaving them with someone in our home and my 2 dogs didn’t even act like I had been gone when I came back! I’m pretty sure they were happy being spoiled by Blakey! Will definitely book her in the future!”

About: I am Shaylei, I am 25years old, and I love working with animals. I have had many different types of animals like dogs and cats to take care of while I was growing up. I also work at the Noble Dog Lodge so I do have professional dog care experience as well. I like the cuddlers, playful, and lazy doggies. I can also teach your dog a few tricks if you’d like as well. I know how to teach sit, stay, shake, and a couple more! I’ve dealt with harder to work with dogs, and very laid back dogs. I’ve dealt with Chihuahuas and Dobermans so any size works for me. I've also worked with the hyper puppies and the senior dogs that just need patience. Your pet will be in good hands if you decide to choose me as your main provider for your pet care needs. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I do work fulltime at a dog boarding and daycare facility. On my days off, I don't mind continuing to provide excellent care for animals that need some extra love while their parents are away. Weather I stay the whole day or do a drop in visit, I always make sure to give each pet the same care and attention. I know your babies miss you and you miss them while you're away. I want them to feel good about me caring for them. So, weather we play fetch, cuddle, or go on a walk I will always treat your babies with the respect and happiness they deserve.

About: I’ve been a dog owner for over a decade with a mix of different temperaments and personalities. I’ve also been dog and cat sitting for almost as long for friends and family. From little chihuahuas to Rottweilers, I’ve cared for many doggies. I’ve even helped train my mom’s three Belgian Malinois. Though I wouldn’t do it now with my toddler, I trained/rehabbed an abused Pitt bull seven years ago. She became the sweetest of all my dogs. My son, who is 16 months old and accompanying me, is very active, so we pretty much live outside (yes! Even when there is snow on the ground). We have a very flexible schedule except maybe when he goes to bed around 7:30/8pm Since people’s homes vary, I’m flexible with doing whatever it takes to keep your pet and others safe. Having no fence is not a problem as long as we have a leash :)

“Nechelle was amazing ! She was a lifesaver and did amazing with our 3 dogs! We were able to go on a cruise for 8 days and our babies were well cared for with great communication everyday. We've found our permanent sitter A+++++++”

“Frances was Wonderful taking care of my babies while I was on vacation. I was gone for 5 days, and have two dogs….a German Shepherd and a Boxer, and they were well taken care of. I would highly recommend Frances for any of your dog sitting needs and will definitely use her again!”

About: I have extensive experience caring for both dogs and cats, having owned pets throughout my life and provided pet-sitting services since 2020. Recently, I have managed the care of multiple pets simultaneously, including supervising and caring for up to four dogs from both one and multiple owners. This experience has strengthened my ability to multitask, stay organized, and ensure each pet receives attentive, individualized care. Currently working part time with plenty of flexibility, I am able to stay the night, wake up early and stay up late to attend to any specific needs for any pet(s) with extra needs. I am able to stay overnight for pet and house sitting, I keep to myself and only go in places I am permitted to while staying or visiting in an owners home. I give updates when asked to and will do everything I can to ensure the wellness of a pet or home. I also offer cleaning services for house and pet sitting.

About: I love all animals. I will play with them, walk them, and be sure to give them lots of love and attention. I have had pets my whole life and I am used to many difffent types of breeds. I am willing to walk them, jog with them, and just lay around and relax with them. If I could just sit pets for my whole life as a full time job I would. I can look after both your pet and your house! Both will be in very good and capable hands. I know how important pets are, they are like family. I am the most free on weekends, but can do some things during the week in the evenings and mornings before work. I’m off on Fridays during the summer. I treat my own pets like family, and will do the same for yours. I will follow all of your guidelines and be sure to give them the love and attention they deserve.
“Keely was the first dog and house sitter we've ever had and we couldn't have asked for a better person or experience! She took care of both my large dogs with absolutely no problems, she provided updates on her own and when we inquired. The girls loved that she played with them both outside and inside. I know we will be using her again!”

“Katelyn was amazing with our 3 pups! She kept us updated the whole time and sent lots of pictures. She even checked on our two cats with no extra charge! Our animals loved her and seemed to be very comfortable with her while we were away. We will definitely have her stay with our pets in the future.”

“Teegan was a fantastic house/dog sitter. She took excellent care of our two dogs in our home while we were out of town for the weekend. She was very communicative and sent us lots of pictures. We would happily have her watch our dogs again!”

“Jonathan was great with my puppies! He gave updates daily, played with them, spent time with them! It was was such a relief having someone reliable and that was going to be good to my pups stay with them. We’ll definitely be rebooking with him soon!”

“Alex is amazing with animals and was great with my dog daisy. I have a 2-year old mountain feist that still has a lot of energy and Alex was able to give her the exercise and attention that she needed while I was away.”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 351 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Forest City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Forest City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Forest City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Forest City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Forest City. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
