About: I have cared for friends and neighbors pets for years. Mostly dogs and cats. Usually for walks & drop ins, giving medication and bathes when needed. I work full time & I am available on weekends. I work Monday through Friday at my full time job. I am willing to schedule walks and drop ins. I always respect the client’s home and the rules there. I understand certain dogs and cats require a schedule and a specific routine in their home.
“Callie checked in on my two cats for three days, spending 30 minutes per visit. She was reliable and followed the care instructions I provided. I appreciated the updates and photos she sent, which reassured me that my cats were doing well!”

About: My experience mainly comes from caring for my own pets and family pets, including providing aftercare for injured pets by giving medications and following their recovery routines. I’m also often the person who can’t resist taking in a stray or two! I genuinely love animals and take their comfort and happiness seriously. I understand how much trust goes into leaving your pet with someone, and I want you to feel confident knowing they’re being cared for with the same patience, attention, and love I’d want for my own My schedule is currently very flexible, allowing me to provide consistent and attentive care throughout the week. I’m available for daytime, evening, overnight, and weekend bookings, and I can accommodate last-minute requests. This flexibility allows me to give each pet the time, patience, and individualized attention they deserve. I have a fenced yard and two friendly dogs of my own. I can provide supervised outdoor time, and I’m able to keep pets separated from my dogs if they prefer their own space or need extra comfort. I’m happy to follow your pet’s routine and any safety instructions you provide, and I’ll always prioritize their comfort and wellbeing while they’re in my care. At your home or mine.
About: Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved animals. I think fur babies are the sweetest thing because although they’re only with you for a little of their lives, you’re with them for all of theirs. I currently have a Shih Tzu & tuxedo cat of my own named Marble who are big babies. I currently work remotely Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM so I’ll be home just about the whole day with your furry ones! Potty breaks, walks, and movie nights here won’t be a problem! I have a large yard next to my house so potty breaks won’t be a problem. Also I have an adult fixed Shih Tzu that loves naps, belly rubs, and playing to keep your fur one company!
“Deisha is wonderful! She sent me updates everyday and really provided me peace of mind while I was away. I can't thank her enough and will definitely be booking her again in the future.”

“Kyra was absolutely wonderful taking care of our sweet Aspen while we were away! 🐱💕 She was incredibly reliable, attentive, communicative, and followed all of our care instructions perfectly. She kept us updated throughout the entire trip, which gave us so much peace of mind knowing Aspen was safe, comfortable, and getting plenty of love and attention. It’s obvious Kyra genuinely cares about the animals she looks after, and we felt completely comfortable trusting Aspen and our home to her care. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for kitty! 🥰 We would absolutely book Kyra again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a dependable and caring pet sitter. Thank you so much, Kyra! ❤️🐾”

About: I’ve been caring for animals my entire life and currently share my home with three dogs and three cats of my own. Animals have always been central to my life, and I understand how important it is to know your pets are safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for while you’re away. In addition to lifelong pet ownership, I have extensive experience in dog rescue. At one point I was actively caring for and rehabilitating 14 dogs at once, working with animals from a variety of backgrounds, temperaments, and medical needs. That experience taught me patience, strong observation skills, and how to quickly recognize changes in behavior or health. I’m comfortable caring for pets at every life stage — energetic puppies and kittens, adult animals with established routines, and seniors who need extra time and compassion. I also have hands-on experience with special needs pets, including administering medications, maintaining detailed care schedules, and assisting animals with mobility challenges. Most recently, I cared for a senior pit bull with hind-end weakness who required lifting assistance to stand and walk, along with consistent medication management. Providing calm, steady support for pets who need extra help is something I truly enjoy. My goal is to keep your pet’s routine familiar and low-stress while providing dependable care, lots of affection, and clear communication so you always know how things are going at home. I treat every pet as if they were my own and provide regular photo and message updates so you always know your pet is safe, comfortable, and happy while you’re away. I currently work part-time as a work-from-home contractor, which allows me a very flexible schedule and makes it easy to adapt my day around pet care needs. Because I’m home much of the time, I’m able to provide consistent attention, regular check-ins, and reliable care throughout the day. I plan my schedule around the pets I’m caring for to ensure feeding times, walks, medication schedules, and companionship needs are met without disruption. Whether it’s short visits, overnight stays, or extended care, I’m able to adjust my routine to prioritize your pet’s comfort and consistency. When caring for pets in a client’s home, my priority is maintaining their normal routine and environment as closely as possible to reduce stress. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, walk routines, medication needs, and any specific behavioral or medical guidelines. I approach each home with respect and responsibility, keeping things clean, secure, and exactly as I found them. I understand the importance of trust when someone is caring for both your pets and your space, and I communicate regularly so you always know how things are going. With experience caring for animals of all ages—including rescues, seniors, and pets with special medical needs—I’m comfortable adapting to whatever level of care is required. My goal is always to provide calm, attentive care so your pets feel safe, understood, and well cared for in your absence.
“Danna did a great job taking care of our cat while we were on vacation and sent us pics and videos periodically during the time our cat was boarded at her place. Would rebook again in the future.”

“Bayleigh is fantastic! She is genuine and reliable and just a really great person. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her and will absolutely be having her care for Remi again. It’s great to feel free to travel and know that Remi is well cared for. Remi loves everybody, but he really took to Bayleigh, probably because of her calm and kind manner with him.”

About: I’ve been in pet care for many years taking care of my own pets and other pets in my pre-vet collegiate career. I have background experience in agriculture and large animal care as well. I work from home so my pets are my day long coworkers! They help give me structure and a routine instead of sitting at my desk all day long. Spending time with them is always something to look forward to. I treat any animal the same as I treat my own pets. My dog is the light of my life and I know other pet parents feel the same about their own babies.

About: Pet lover! I have always had a pet in my life and have over 12 years of experience with them. I have open availability on weekends and can make time during the week with notice! I will always show them affection and care to their needs. I’ll treat them like my own! I will bring them treats and toys. We will take many bathroom breaks and make sure they are comfortable while their best friend is away. My time spent with your pet will be one hundred percent revolved around them and I will always strive to keep them safe and happy. You will be at peace while you are away from your fur friend! Open to any requests you have. I currently work at a hospital during the week, but with notice my schedule can be flexible and I can fit certain services in. Please do not hesitate to reach out! I like to meet your fur babies prior to our time together and make sure everyone is comfortable. I’ll go over what your pet enjoys and expects on a daily basis so that I can make sure they are as happy as can be while you’re away.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
