About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 10 years and understand that every animal has its own personality and needs. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to feed, walk, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. I treat every pet like family and focus on making them feel safe, comfortable, and loved. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, young, or senior, I’ll provide patient and dependable care while keeping you updated with photos and messages. I have a flexible schedule that allows me to provide consistent attention and care throughout the day. This gives me plenty of time for feeding, playtime, walks, and companionship. I understand how important routines are for pets and will do my best to maintain your pet’s normal schedule to help them feel comfortable and secure while you’re away. Your pet’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I provide a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment where animals can feel comfortable and relaxed. I carefully follow all feeding instructions, medication schedules, and special care requests. I also pay close attention to each pet’s behavior and needs to ensure they remain safe, happy, and stress-free. You can expect regular updates, photos, and communication so you always know how your pet is doing.

About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have always been a huge animal lover. Recently moved out with my fiancé so I miss my two fur babies so much! (luckily they’re at my parents house not too far, so i see them as often as possible). In addition to caring for my own pets over the years, I have about 3 years of experience dog and cat sitting for others. I’m comfortable caring for dogs of different ages, personalities, and energy levels. I’ve cared for older dogs who prefer a slower pace and lots of relaxation, as well as younger, high-energy dogs who need more activity, walks, and playtime. While I have more experience with dogs, I’ve also cared for cats and am comfortable with their basic care, including feeding, spending time with them, and cleaning litter boxes. I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I’m happy to follow your instructions and adjust to what makes your pet happiest and most comfortable. Whether that means going for a walk, playing, or just keeping them company, I’ll make sure they get plenty of care and attention while you’re away. I currently work as a nanny, which gives me availability on most Mondays and Fridays until 12 PM, unless kids are home from school. I am also available on evenings/weekends depending on timing and the needs of your pet. I’m open to overnight pet sitting as well and have experience with overnight stays, although availability may depend on the timing and circumstances of each booking. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s schedule and needs to see what works best! When caring for pets in a client’s home, I do my best to keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. I’ll follow your instructions for feeding, walks, potty breaks, playtime, medications if needed and discussed beforehand, and any other parts of their daily routine. I’m happy to spend time playing with higher-energy pets or simply provide companionship and attention for pets who prefer a more relaxed environment. For cats, I’m comfortable with feeding, refreshing water, playtime and attention, and cleaning litter boxes. I’ll also respect your home and make sure your pet’s space is kept clean and comfortable. I’m happy to send pictures and updates while you’re away so you know how your pet is doing!

“Kat was exceptional! She not only did what was needed but went above and beyond for our furbabies. Even after one specific hard day she still made a point to do her check in even though it wasn’t specifically needed. She communicated with me the whole time and sent lovely pictures. She even cleaned up a little on her last day as a special cherry on top. Will be using her services again!”

Super easy to communicate with, and when we got home, the house was swept, the litter boxes were clean, and our kitties were happy. We’ll definitely be booking her again next time we’re away. Highly highly recommend!”

She was able to care for our diabetic cat and give him his insulin injections at a timely manner, all while making sure he didn’t eat the other cat’s food. We would definitely hire her again in the future!”

About: I have had both cats and dogs almost my entire life and have worked as a Veterinarian Technician in an animal shelter and for a small family owned Vet. I strive to bring my knowledge and love for animals to my community so that pet care can be more affordable for regular people (such as myself). With the knowledge I have gathered from both working in office, having pets, sitting family pets, and my many years of pet grooming I hope to make my home a safe haven for your pet. We can also discuss natural treatments for pets which I've studied for a while now when it comes to specific breeds, mixed breeds, and their genetic ailments. I will soon be making all natural dog & cat treats for pets. I can also train pets through the treat/clicker system which has worked well for all of my pets and a plenty of others. If you would like for me to train them please let me know. Please contact me directly. I currently work from home and have a really flexible schedule. More than likely your pet will stay in the room with me (if they choose as i love cuddles as much as they might). Your pet can also hang out in the living room if they choose. They will go outside as many times as needed through the day until I get off at 5:30pm which then we will go for a walk. I also have a back yard. In which I will allow them to exert any additional energy throughout the day. I care for pets by paying attention to them and understanding the small hints they give indicating what they need at that time. I also create a potty schedule based on the dogs water/food intake to avoid accidents. I have no pets at the time so your pet will have my full attention. If permitted by the owner, I will groom, bathe, and train their pets.

About: While I am new to rover I have experience with my parents senior dog and administering medications as needed, I am a proud owner of a stubborn chihuahua and my schedule is flexible to meet the individual needs of my clients. I also have base access for our military families. Before booking with me you should be aware: I can accept bookings as little as 3 days before your trip, depending on availability. I do require a meet and greet beforehand with you and your pets to make sure everyone is comfortable and that it’s a good fit. A few things to know: 🐾 All pets behavior must match what is listed on their profile. 🐾 All pets must be potty trained. 🐾 I do not take puppies or kittens. 🐾 Any medications, dietary restrictions, behavioral issues, or special care needs need to be discussed before booking and demonstrated prior to stay. I really value keeping pets on their normal routine and making sure they’re comfortable while their owners are away. If you’re interested or have questions, feel free to message me on Rover. My schedule is flexible. I am a stay at home mom and am able to schedule care into my day. If there is anything I am unable to do I will be open and honest with you. Safety is my #1 priority in my home, I have a two small kids and a small dog of my own and would need to do a meet at greet prior to establishing care. I also have a late yard for pets to stretch their legs. In your home I can play with your pets, take them on a walk, and administer medications. I would need a meet and greet with your pet to ensure safety as well.

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and animals my entire life, raised puppies and nursed elderly dogs! Definitely a passion of mine. I’ve trained a few rescues as well. I work part time so I’m home quite often, other than that I spend my free time hiking or taking walks with my own pup Willow. Open spaced home, great walking neighborhood with dog park only .10 mile away. Willow I’ve raised since a puppy, she’s a 6 year old lab who is insanely affectionate and energetic, and beyond sweet. She does get overly excited meeting new dogs, and loves making new friends! It’s different for each sitting and depends on what each owner is looking for. I will not take on opportunities that I can’t be fully invested and present for. Plenty of free time to accommodate your pups needs! Communication with other owners is vital from both ends to be sure everyone is taken care of and happy.

FAQs for Pet Sitting - Faro

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.

Before booking, confirm:

  • the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
  • the care instructions the sitter should follow;
  • which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
  • how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.

Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.

The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .

sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
