“Simply put, Patty is top notch!!! She is most definitely a animal lover. She took the time to come meet our boys the day before. During here drop in visits, she sent pics and videos of the boys playing and relaxing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND using PATTY V.”

About: I have cared for dogs for many years. I can walk, feed, and play with dogs of different sizes and personalities. I will treat your pet like my own and make sure they feel safe and loved. It's a large part of my daily routine. I have three dogs, all different breeds, which means I take care of them differently because of their different personalities. I have a part-time job; however I work a maximum of 6 hours and I am free before and after work. Right now, I don't offer in-home care at my residence; however, when caring for a client's pet, their safety is my priority. I make sure fences and doors are secure and pay close attention to any illnesses or special needs.
“Susie was great. She did drop-ins for my dog, Peanut, and always made sure to send pictures and video updates, so I didn’t have to worry about anything. She also followed all the instructions I gave her for Peanut. I will definitely be reaching out to her again the next time I need a sitter for Peanut.”

“Azrael has become our go-to person whenever we need someone to take care of our boys, and we honestly couldn’t imagine trusting anyone else with them. Every time we leave our puppies with her, we know they’re going to be loved, spoiled, and cared for just like they’re at home with us. She goes above and beyond every single time, and the peace of mind we get knowing our boys are in her hands is priceless. She’s dependable, caring, trustworthy, and genuinely treats our puppies like family. We’re so grateful we found Azrael and will continue coming back to her every time we need someone to care for our boys! ❤️”

About: I have been a dog mom most of my life. More recently I’ve worked with a rescue and have experience fostering dogs . All 3 of my dogs are rescues and they are all very different so I’ve learned that they all their own individualized plan I currently work full time so I am available most weekends for boarding. Sometimes I’m off over the summer so my availability opens up then I have a really big fenced yard and a cozy pet friendly home. I have 3 small dogs who I love very much. My heeler mix is a bit fear aggressive towards new people and large dogs but he is obedient and I am working on socializing him more and I know exactly to manage. I’ve fostered a variety of dogs the last year and he just needs time to warm up to new dogs and people. My other 2 are terrier mixes and have been socialized since they were pups.
About: I’ve always loved being around animals and have some experience caring for dogs and cats for family. Me myself have had cats and dogs in the past. I enjoy going on walks, playing with pets, and making sure they feel comfortable and safe. I’m patient, responsible, and pay attention to each pet’s needs. I’ll care for your pet and make sure they’re happy! I’m available throughout the week. Pet care fits into my routine naturally because I love spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and happy while their owners are away. I enjoy going on walks, playing, and giving attention to each pet, and I’m happy to adjust my schedule to meet your pet’s needs. Whether I’m caring for pets in your home or mine, I make sure the environment is safe and clean. I keep doors and gates secure, supervise pets during playtime, and make sure they have fresh water, food, and a comfortable space. I pay attention to their personality and needs, ensuring they feel relaxed and happy. I also follow any instructions you leave carefully so your pet is well cared for and safe at all times.
“Lolita is very good with our boy, Gunner. He seems comfortable and responds well to her. She is definitely going to be someone we look to the future with. Time will tell whether she wants to continue caring for him. Thank you, Lolita.”

“Anessa is a fantastic pet sitter! I needed last minute pet care and she was there instantly. We met to walk through my dog’s routine and she was so kind and sweet to my dog and I. I can tell that she loves animals and treats them with love and care. She would update me constantly when something came up or if it involved my dog. She responds very quick which I really appreciated. I would definitely hire her again for any pet sitting needs. It felt like a friend was watching my dog for me.”

About: I’ve taken care of my personal animals since I was a little girl and have been pet sitting for about 4 years. I have about 4 years of Veterinary experience currently working as a Veterinary Assistant. I am currently a vet assistant at a veterinary clinic but have free time whenever I’m not there. Animals are just a part of my life and I’d love for that to continue. I will care for pets in a safe and loving way. I also will follow the instructions given to me by the owners and will take good care of any property or home I am in. I am very cautious when it comes to each animal, their behaviors and their needs. I’m very understanding about pets being very nervous, I go very slow and let them warm up to me in their own way, being nervous is normal and nothing to be shamed for.
About: I’m a proud toy poodle mom of two, so caring for small dogs is part of my everyday life. Dogs are very special to me, especially as a deaf person—I rely on body language and visual awareness, which makes me extremely observant and attentive to a dog’s needs, behavior, and safety. What sets me apart is my patience, calm energy, and strong understanding of how dogs communicate without words. I’m especially comfortable with small breeds, shy dogs, and dogs who need gentle care. I work alongside my mom in her home childcare business, which is located right next to my house. Because of this, I am home most of the day and nearby at all times. My schedule is very flexible, and I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks, feeding, playtime, and supervision. Pets in my care are rarely left alone for long periods. They become part of our calm, structured daily routine and receive lots of attention and care throughout the day. Safety and comfort are my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, and supervised home environment. I closely monitor body language and behavior to ensure every dog feels safe and relaxed. I follow feeding schedules, give regular potty breaks, and keep pet parents updated with messages and photos. Your pet will be treated with love and care, just like my own two toy poodles.

About: What sets me apart as a sitter is the level of care, attention, and adaptability I bring to every pet I look after. I treat each animal like they’re my own, which means taking the time to understand their personality, routine, and specific needs so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I currently work fulltime but weekends I am fully available! I love animals and always have since I was little. Growing up we’ve always have had dogs and cats. I have a fenced yard and we have plenty of room for the dogs to run around. I do also have a pug that is 6 years old but he is super friendly.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
