About: I’ve cared for many different kinds of animals since I was young, from dogs and cats to reptiles, birds, and rodents. I have experience understanding and providing for the unique needs of different animals, including feeding routines, handling, enrichment, and daily care. I also have a lizard of my own at home, which has given me hands-on experience with reptile care. I’m reliable, attentive, and genuinely passionate about animals. I treat every pet like my own and want to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. As a college student, I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to easily fit pet care into my daily and weekly routine. I am not currently working another job, but I am looking for potential job opportunities, so my schedule is flexible and I can plan around the needs of the pets I’m caring for. I’m available for regular visits, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship, and I’m happy to adjust my schedule when needed. I’m dependable and will make sure your pets receive the care, attention, and love they need while you’re away I have a new house that doesn’t allow furry animals, but I do have a bearded dragon that I care for at home. Because I’m unable to have furry pets in my own home, I’m happy to care for them in their own environment where they feel most comfortable. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I would treat them like my own, follow their normal routines and care instructions, and make sure they receive plenty of attention, love, and companionship. I would also be respectful of your home and make sure everything is left just as I found it.

Kandy is always so helpful when we go out of town! Our Henry is a handful of an old man and we were always so worried about leaving him with someone when we were gone! I am so lucky to have found her! Henry might not show that he’s having a good time, but I know that he’s been well taken care of!

We couldn’t be happier with the care our three dogs received! From the moment we left, she kept us updated with regular messages and adorable photos that gave us total peace of mind. It was so clear she treated them not just as clients, but as her own — they were loved, comfortable, and happy the entire time. We will absolutely be booking again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter who truly goes above and beyond!

About: I have taken care of pets since I was 11 years old. I have bathed, fed, walked, and played with dogs and cats alike. I love it a lot and animals just bring me joy. I currently work part time at another job so I’ll have time to help take care of your pets throughout the week and keep them company. I am able to move around a bunch to play with your pet! I can also cuddle and relax with them if that’s more their speed. I understand every pet is different and I can work with them however they need! I’ll also make sure to stay communicative, letting you know what’s going on and sending pictures of your fur baby’s.

About: Rover Bio Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover with 15 years of experience as a dog owner, so I understand just how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member. 🐾 I live an active, athletic lifestyle and love staying busy—whether that means getting outside for a walk, going for a run, playing in the yard, or simply enjoying some fresh air. I’m happy to match your pup’s energy level, whether they’re ready for an adventure or prefer a slower stroll. But don’t let the athletic side fool you—I’m also a huge fan of couch cuddles, and quality time. I’ll treat your dog like they’re part of the family and make sure they get plenty of exercise, attention, affection, and love while you’re away. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and my goal is to give you peace of mind while making sure your pup has a safe, happy, and fun time! I’m currently working a flexible hybrid positions as a wedding planner! I work most Saturdays but have week day flexibility. I spend my days working from home and have ample time to care for your pets needs! I aim to create a comfortable environment for your pets and to keep their routine as normal as possible! I’m a very clean person and want to ensure your house is just as you left it!

I have trained 2 service dogs and a therapy dog as well as scent work foundations. Animals are my biggest passion, my goal is to help and love your animals as my own in order to help you achieve all goals you may have in mind. even if its as simple as a good walk. I spend my time taking care of my own dogs, walking, training and grooming. I still have time in the day to help others and this is my best idea to achieve that. I have 2 friendly dogs, Tyson who is around 8 he is extremely neutral and coda was is a bit older then a year old who has tones of energy for play. I have harness and long lines to make sure your dog has the ability to run and play safely even though I don't have a fenced in yard. My dogs will only interact with yours if you ask for it, as I know some dog just prefer to be on their own. I have toys of all sizes and types. All dog will be leashed before any door is opened to ensure no dog will be getting loose. I know how to administer medications if needed along with how to give the dog the Heimlich. About: I have been caring for dogs for over 16 years, and I truly love it. I currently have four friendly dogs, and I would be delighted to provide care for your pet as well. Why choose a kennel when you can leave your pet in a loving home? Your furry friend will enjoy walks, playtime, and lots of fun, so you won’t have to worry while you’re away. I live in a great neighborhood for walking, and I am available to care for your pet any day of the week. Your pet will have little time without human companionship. All of my dogs are friendly and welcome interactions with others. I encourage a meet-and-greet so you and your pet can feel comfortable before making a decision. I will ensure your pet stays on a schedule. I work less than 10 minutes away and can check in for lunch if needed; however, there will usually be someone home with your pet. We typically go for walks at least three times a day. In my household, your pet will become part of the family. I look forward to hearing from you! While I maintain a full-time job, my significant other works opposite hours, allowing them to provide care for your pet during the day while I’m at work. Together, we are committed to ensuring a consistent and nurturing daily routine for your furry friend. I have three friendly dogs who enjoy the company of other pets. When your furry friend stays with us, they will be treated like family and showered with love and attention. If needed, I can easily create a peaceful environment by separating pets in different rooms or kennels. My dogs are accustomed to welcoming visitors, and they happily share the spotlight, allowing me to focus on giving your pet the care and affection they deserve. Your pet will feel right at home!

FAQs for House Sitting - Fairmont

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Fairmont on Rover is $29.96 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 129 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Fairmont. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Fairmont walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Fairmont maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Fairmont choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Fairmont. On Rover:

  • 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
