“Stacey was amazing! Our baby has pretty high energy and he was having a really hard time the first day but she had so much patience with him & kept working with him to make him feel more comfortable. She even did daily check ins with me. We will definitely be using her again! :)”

“This is the first time I've used Rover.com. I was a bit nervous having a perfect stranger staying in my house. I shouldn't have worried. Shelly was great. My dog is healthy and happy and my house is fine. I was surprised to find she had washed the bedding and towels she used and remade the bed. Thanks, Shelly.”

About: I have experience caring for dogs through dog sitting and training. I provide a safe, caring, and comfortable environment while making sure each dog gets plenty of attention, exercise, and positive interaction. I enjoy getting to know each dog’s personality and making sure they feel happy, secure, and well cared for while their owners are away. I have flexible availability for dog sitting throughout my daily schedule. I can work around your needs and provide care, walks, playtime, and attention while you’re at work, running errands, or away for the day. I can provide reliable and loving care for your dogs while you’re away or at work. I’ll make sure they get plenty of attention, exercise, food, fresh water, and bathroom breaks while keeping them safe and comfortable. I’ll treat your pets like my own and give you peace of mind knowing they’re well cared for.

About: I’ve taken care of cats and dogs my entire life. I’ve always had animals in my household. Neighbors, family, and friends have always trusted me to watch their furry friends while they were away. I work part time at a school from august to may. I have plenty of time every day at home to watch and play with your animals. I have a large fenced in yard for my dogs at home. I live with parents so my dogs have multiple people to let them out and play when needed. In clients homes I let them out often and I am able to walk them and play with them frequently.
“Miranda took great care of our dogs and bunnies! She communicated with daily reports while we were gone. She went above and beyond to keep our house neat and tidy. As a first time Rover customer this was a great first experience. I would rebook with Miranda in the future, and recommend her to others.”

“We felt very comfortable with Tracy at our meet and greet. Our cat, who hides from most people came right up to Tracy immediately. Tracy kept in touch with us regularly and sent pictures while we were away. I've never felt more comfortable and she seemed to know how we felt and did everything right and even left our house looking perfect, took care of plants inside and out and birdfeeders and even offered more help that we hadn't mentioned. Tracy went above and beyond and we will definitely use her again if we ever leave for more than a day. Leaving pets is very difficult but Tracy truly understands and gives your pets everything they need with no complaints and she enjoys being the type of help that's extremely difficult to find. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts! We recommend her wholeheartedly!”

About: I’ve grown up caring for multiple dogs throughout my life, giving me hands-on experience with feeding, walking, playtime, and everyday care. I treat every dog like family and prioritize their safety and happiness. I am currently home from college for the summer. I do not have other responsibilities, so caring for your pet is my top priority. I am free every day to be able to feed, walk, and play with them. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize maintaining their everyday routine to help them feel comfortable and secure. Whether I’m providing walks, drop-in visits, or overnight care, I’ll ensure your pet receives plenty of attention, exercise, fresh water, meals, and any other care instructions you provide.

“Lo took great care of our dogs and the house. I will be using her again and highly recommend. My dogs take a minute to let new people in their circle and she did great with them. They loved her!”

“Brooke was fantastic to work with and did a great job taking care of Scarlett while we were out of town. She sent daily updates and pictures letting us know our Lil Miss was doing just fine. She ran the vacuum and left the kitchen spotless. We will definitely use her again.”

“Heather agreed to watch my pup for a weekend on such short notice. She sent a lot of updates and pictures so I knew my dog was being cared for while I was away. Thank you Heather!”

“Tasha is amazing!!! She was prompt, easily reachable, very communicative and sent lots of updates and pictures of our dogs Rock and Dre. Tasha was honest and fair and I look forward to working with her again soon.”

“Ava still doesn't like when we leave, but Shawna P. has done a great job making her feel as comfortable as possible. Ava still yells at us when we get home, but she is much more relaxed and happier than if she spent the time boarding at the kennel.”

“Hannah was very flexible, meet n greet, and is kind, confident, and understanding. She clearly has experience with loud and large dogs as well. I would trust her to watch the dogs again!”
About: Hi, I’m Bri! 🐾 I’m the kind of pet sitter who treats your pets like family — with patience, love, and plenty of attention to the little things that make them feel safe and comfortable. Whether your cat needs a calm companion, your pup needs extra playtime, or your pet simply needs someone reliable while you’re away, I’m here to make sure they feel cared for in their own home. I’ll follow their routine, respect their personality, and keep you updated so you can relax knowing they’re in good hands. ❤️ My goal isn’t just to “watch” your pet — it’s to make them feel loved, secure, and spoiled while you’re away. 🐶🐱 I work full-time, but pet sitting is something I genuinely enjoy doing outside of work. I understand how hard it can be to find someone trustworthy to care for your pets when you’re busy, traveling, or away from home. While my weekday availability is centered around my work schedule, I’m dependable about the times I commit to and make the most of every visit. I’ll give your pets plenty of attention, follow their normal routines, and make sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I’m especially passionate about providing reliable, personalized care rather than treating every pet the same. I’ll take the time to learn their personality, needs, and little quirks — and I’ll keep you updated so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. ❤️ **Your pets get my full attention when I’m with them, and you get a sitter you can count on.** 🐶🐱🐾 Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I believe great pet sitting starts with creating a calm, secure, and trustworthy environment where your pets can feel relaxed while you’re away. I take the time to understand your pet’s routine, personality, and needs, while making sure their surroundings stay clean, safe, and comfortable. I’m attentive to details, respectful of your home, and committed to providing dependable care you can feel confident in. Whether your pet is playful, shy, energetic, or simply loves to relax, I’ll give them the patience, supervision, and personalized attention they deserve. **Your home is their safe space, and I’ll treat it — and your pets — with the same care and respect I would want for my own. ❤️🐶🐱**

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Exchange walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Exchange maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Exchange choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Exchange. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
