“Erica was amazing with our babies! We have a senior pup that needs special attention and Erica took extra special care for her and did amazing. We were so pleased we immediately book her for another longer stay. She is now our go to person!!”

“Charlayne was amazing! She took excellent care of my 3 while i was away for a week! She had a busy schedule during this time but still managed to prioritize the care of my pups! She sent photos with updates throughout my trip. I also came home to a clean house! It’s an amazing feeling not having to worry about my fur babies while on vacation and then to come home to peace is such a blessing! Thank you so much!”

“It was my first time using Rover and Rachel made sure it was a good experience. She clarified any needs for the dogs, asked what was acceptable to not cross any boundaries already set, and made sure they had an enjoyable day. Couldn’t be happier to have them watched by her. Would recommend her if you need a sitter.”

“Isabelle took fantastic care of our two dogs and the house while we were out of town! She left the house tidy and was very respectful of our space and our wishes. I expect to ask her to come again the next time we need help!”

“Dakota is great! Very reliable and trustworthy. He sat with my fur babies (2 dogs and 1 cat) for a full week and they were well loved! Will book with him again! Thanks again, Dakota!”

“Haley is the best sitter we have had! She takes the time to meet and understand your dogs’ needs first. I really appreciate all the updates she provides-videos, photos and messages so you know what is going on with your babies. She is extremely kind to my dogs and communicates very well. Highly recommend!”

About: I have taken care of dogs of every breed and size since I was young. I have always had dogs growing up and I still have my childhood dog of 10 years+. I am able to walk, feed, and bathe the pets if needed. I can also help with tricks and crate training as well! I am currently going back to school for my doctorate in occupational therapy and it is a hybrid program, I want the flexibility of having my own schedule and arranging it around my school schedule. My pets have a schedule and understand their schedule, so if your pup has that, I will be happy to help! I also have three types of breeds within my home, so I understand the importance of boundaries, separate feedings, crating, and ensuring each dog is taken care of on their individual needs.
“I was so pleased with Tania, would I book her again absolutely. I probably have to leave Kittycat no more than twice a year and so she is not use to having a person she doesn’t know live in her house, but Tania loved her and took care of her so well the pictures that Tania sent showed how Kittycat was completely comfortable and well looked after. Thank you again Tania.”

“Destini was so great! She took good care of our pups while we were out and stayed in touch with us. No doubt they were a bit trying at times but she handled it like a pro! Definitely recommend!”

“Julie was fantastic! I have three big dogs and she took excellent care of them and the house! She came a couple times before our trip to better understand our needs and get to know the dogs. She communicated well while we were gone. She even cleaned the house! I will definitely be looking to work with her again!”

“We hired Heather to housesit and watch our two dogs for two nights. She was a dream to work with! She left my home how we left it; frankly I couldn’t even tell anyone was there. She was very respectful of my house rules & my dog care preferences. Heather was punctual, respectful and has great communication. Our pups clearly enjoyed her presence and also, they loved staying home and not going to a traditional boarding situation which was huge for us. We have a large breed #110 dog and a #6 dog which she handled both with ease. We look forward to booking her again in the future and would recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve had dogs for most of my life and have always been the friend people call when they need an extra hand with their pups! I have experience with everything from puppies still learning their routines to senior dogs who need a little more patience and care, including German Shepherds. I’m happy to follow your dog’s normal routine, help reinforce training, give medications and, of course, make sure they get plenty of walks, playtime and love. I work mostly remotely, so my schedule is pretty flexible for walks, drop-ins and spending time with your dog in their own home. I’m also always happy to do a meet-and-greet first so everyone feels comfortable! I work mostly remotely, so I have a lot of flexibility throughout the day and week. I’m happy to work around your dog’s normal schedule for walks, drop-ins, morning or evening visits, and longer visits when needed. I want your dog to feel comfortable in their own space, so I’ll follow the routine and rules you already have in place. I’m always happy to do a meet-and-greet beforehand so you can show me around, walk me through their routine and make sure your dog is comfortable with me before their first visit.
About: Hi. I'm a born caregiver and that includes pets. Until their passing recently, I was my housemates dog walker, caregiver, sitter and dog uncle since 2010. While they were her dogs she routinely joked she was jealous they were far more affectionate with me. :) They were fed regularly, walked, played with, I put proper meds in their food, and often they fall asleep next to me. I also was my friends first choice for dog sitting and even pet sit for a CEO and SVP. In this job, you're not doing this to get rich, you do this because you CARE for animals. Because I cannot have pets where I live at, this allows me to be around pets to enjoy their company as pets have a way of making me smile and enjoy life even a bit more. I will treat your pet as my own and send you lots of pics and updates so you know your furry family member is cared for like you would. I currently work as a video/film editor as well as animation and music production so doing this PT allows me to continue that dream while getting exercise and being around pets as I cannot really have them at my place. I listen to your directions and will treat your pet with the same care and love I would want with a pet if I had one. While others say one thing and do another, you really can trust that I'm honest, loving, caring. I can also help medicate if I'm placing meds inside their foods.
About: I’ve had a dog since I could remember and taken care of my friend’s and family’s loving pets throughout my 40 years of life. I’ll be happy to walk, feed, and care for your pets. I do work remotely from home so I’ll be readily available to care for your pets. I work remotely from home, I may run an errand before or after work or do my hot yoga, but for the most part I work 9-5pm from home. I have a nice corner lot home with a large fenced in backyard with plenty of room to run around. I pick up the dog poop after my own puppy. My house is clean and pets are allowed to roam without having to be crated.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 157 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Emhouse. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Emhouse walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Emhouse maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Emhouse choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Emhouse. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
