About: I've grown up with no less than 2 dogs at a time. Now I have 3 of my own and I am looking to open my home and offer my services since I am home full time!! We are always outside playing, going for walks and experiencing nature!! I would love to have the opportunity to care for other peoples animals!! The passion I have for animals could definitely be of use to many :) Let me know how I can help!! I work from home and I’m able to constantly care for my 3 pups. The more the merrier! I get up early and run the pups, feed them and let them sunbathe out back. Pets are allowed on our furniture and are treated as the family that they are. I have a fully fenced in yard, plenty of toys and puppy friends to keep your babe occupied and having the time of their lives! My dogs also have their own crates if our visitor is uneasy around our dogs.

About: Hi! I’m Allie, and I’d love to be your pet’s new favorite sitter! 🐾 I know how hard it can be to leave your pets with someone else, so my goal is to make that experience as easy and stress-free as possible. I’m dependable, attentive, and genuinely love animals. Your pets will get plenty of love, attention, playtime, and care while you’re away. I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I’m also happy to follow your pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, special instructions, and plenty of cuddles. ❤️ Communication is important to me, so you can expect regular updates and photos while your pet is in my care. I want you to be able to relax knowing they’re being well taken care of. Whether your pet needs a quick walk, a midday check-in, or someone to keep them company while you’re away, I’d be happy to help! I’m self-employed and work primarily from home, which gives me a very flexible schedule and allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day. I’m able to work my schedule around walks, potty breaks, feeding times, and playtime, rather than leaving pets alone for long periods. I love having animals around while I work, and I’m happy to provide the companionship and care they need throughout the day! Whether I’m caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I focus on making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, potty breaks, medications, playtime, and any special instructions. I’m respectful of your home and your pet’s space, and I take the time to get to know each pet’s personality and individual needs. I’ll also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and well cared for while you’re away. 🐾❤️
About: I’ve grown up surrounded by dogs since I was little, from tiny friends to big, gentle giants. I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while you’re away. I’m dependable and will send timely updates so you can feel at ease knowing your pets are in good hands. I have experience caring for puppies through senior dogs and will happily stick to their usual routines to help them feel comfortable. While I wasn’t raised with cats in my home, I’ve had experience caring for them as well. Neighbors, family, friends, and even strangers have trusted me with their pets for check-ins, walks, feeding, playtime, and more. I can’t wait to meet you and get to know your pets! I’m currently working part time so I have plenty of time to care for your pups! Friday-Monday I am available around the clock for check-ins, walks, playtime, and feeding. Since I am available in your home, I will stick to your already established safety measures to keep your pet safe while you are away!
“Five paws up! 🐾 Our sitter sent our humans lots of pictures, kept them updated, and gave us tons of love while they were away. We felt happy, safe, and very spoiled. We highly recommend her-and hope she comes back to hang out with us again soon! -Turkey & Kona 🐶🐶”

“Noelle is great and goes above and beyond. She stayed with my two dogs for multiple nights which is not easy. My dogs are lovable but they are rescues who were abused so they have behavioral issues. Noelle wasn’t worried and came to spend time with them ahead of our travel to ensure she understood their challenges and learned how to handle them. One of my dogs is people selective but loved Noelle from the start. I felt very comfortable leaving my dogs with her. She even worked on some training techniques with them during her stay. She is a true animal lover and it’s evident in her care towards all animals, treating them as her own. I highly recommend her!”

“Briana house sat and watched my dog for multiple days while I was out of town. She is communicative and always very kind to my anxious little guy. Will continue to book with her. Thank you!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for about 6 years now, all different breeds and sizes. My family, friends, neighbors, and bosses have hired me to take care of their own dogs for days at a time. This included walking, playing, feeding, taking to vet appointments and much for for their beloved dog. I am currently a junior at West Chester University, studying Finance. I will be free everyday in between classes, after classes, evenings and weekends. I have a very flexible schedule! I live in an apartment so I would not be allowed to have dogs stay for a long period of time. I do have my own reliable transportation so I can be anywhere where I am needed!

About: Hi my name is Michael. I am a current senior at Wilkes who is looking to get involved in the local community. I have spent several years caring for dogs. I have two of my own at home in Stroudsburg (pit mixes), and in high school and over breaks I have pet sat and walked dogs for over a dozen homes in my community. I take pride in being a student leader and a future educator, as well as being responsible, dependable, and knowledgeable. For instance, I am well versed in dog body language, basic obedience, and many different breeds and personalities (small to big, guardian breeds, I love them all!). I am happy to reinforce the rules, expectations, and training that you have with your pet, or teach small new things like leash manners. Whether your dog needs to burn some energy, or just needs someone to check in on them throughout the week, I hope that you will consider me! Being a college student, my schedule is actually pretty flexible. I am generally available for: Morning/Midday walks/check-ins throughout the work week. Afternoon and evening visits on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Weekend stays or longer visits potentially as well. If you have any questions please reach out and I can see if we can work something out! Being a pet parent myself, I understand the varying needs and concerns when it comes to a pet sitter. Because of that, I take time to speak with all owners about expectations, routines, and how they would like me to approach their home and pets. I usually like to meet all pets with the owners before beginning care as well, simply to ensure that they are comfortable with me. Generally, I will also take notice and respond to any body language or comfort concerns, exercise and training expectations, feeding and medication routines, and any other requests that an owner or pet may bring! If you have any questions please also reach out!
About: Since the day I was born I’ve always had a dog around to take care of. He was my entire world, always treated him like my baby. My Grandparents also had two cats that I would take care from time to time. I just moved from Orlando Florida back to Laflin pa where I originally grew up and I’m currently a middle school teacher in Wilkes Barre I unfortunately do not offer boarding but I have no problem hanging out with furry friends in the comfort their own home! I’m very neat and ALWAYS treat a clients home with respect.
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Elmhurst
Natalie was such a great pet sitter for our dog Cinnamon! She gave us regular updates and always made sure to check in if she had questions about Cinnamon’s care. In the pictures she sent us, we could clearly see that Cinnamon was very comfortable with Natalie which is always super reassuring to see. Natalie was also extremely helpful when our flight home got canceled last minute and she was able to stay for an extra day to take care of Cinnamon. Will be reaching out to Natalie in the future with pet sitting needs!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Elmhurst walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Elmhurst maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Elmhurst choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
