“We have used Alana for years. First in Winnemucca, then she moved to Elko. Then we moved back to Elko and we were so glad to use her again!! She’s the best. Always responsive to our concerns and messages. Just an all around damn good pet sitter!”

“Alexis has went above and beyond to take care of our dog Meadow. She ensured that Meadow took her medication even though she is very hard to get to take her pills! Alexis gave thorough report cards on Meadow and it made us feel that she was in good hands. Will definitely be booking Alexis again!”

“Sarah is fantastic! If you have a shy animal like my kitty Riley… she is amazing. On my second time hiring Sarah… she was able to pet Riley…he usually hides under bed. Everything is done perfectly… she even fills my bird feeders. I highly recommend Sarah”

“Melissa was very thoughtful in her care of Dexter. He can be very particular, but she went out of her way to make sure that he was comfortable with her. Will book with her again in the future!”

About: Hello! I have been taking care of animals my entire life. I love animals. I have been trying to find something to earn a bit of extra income to help pay for a new porch and pay off huge medical debt from cancer and a bone marrow transplant and thought I might as well get to see adorable dogs in the process. I am off for the summer as my normal 9-5 is teaching 7th graders Life Science. I’ve been doing that for 21 years. I figure if I can wrangle 180 7th graders well enough to be the Nevada Teacher of the Year and a national award winner then I can apply those same principals and wrangle your animals. I am dog and cat cpr trained. I work M- Th teaching and am home F-Su. The only reason I don’t watch animals at my home is I have two dogs, a Japanese Chin named Tonks and a Boston Terrier named Cronk and I don’t want your animal to have to get used to them and stress out more. I also don’t have a fenced in yard. My boys are not runners so there isn’t a need to have one. If you would like me to watch your animal in my home please know, I don’t have the best home or the typical Elko/Spring Creek gorgeous places. I lost everything to cancer and now I’ve in what I could pay off that couldn’t be taken from me: a double wide home on land in spring creek. If your okay with that then your fur baby is more than welcome to come hang with us. I will care for your pets the way you would like me to. I will stick to your schedule with feeding and potty and walking routines. I will do whatever you need me to do to keep your pet happy.
“I reached out to Lilli with a super last minute request to check in on my kitty while on vacation, and she was fantastic and so flexible. My cat loved her and she took great care of him. I think she went above and beyond! Will book again and highly recommend!”

About: My wife and I truly enjoy animals and are dedicated to ensuring they are well cared for. Proverbs 12:10 says, "The righteous care for the needs of their animals..." and we take this to heart. Aside from asking our dogs "who's a good boy?", we love engaging in playtime, fetch, and going for runs and hikes with them. Choose me for a pawsitively purrfect pet care experience where your pet's happiness and health are our utmost priority! I work as a team with my wife who is a homemaker, so we can adapt to meet most any schedule needs. I personally work a Monday - Thursday schedule, from 6am - 4pm. In our home, we offer a variety of secure and pet-friendly spaces. We have a small fenced area for safe outdoor play, a large kennel for cozy rest, and we have both a primary house and a mother-in-law house that can be used for pet care. Additionally, we have open acreage available for supervised exploration and exercise, providing plenty of space for pets to run and play. When caring for pets in client's homes, we follow their established routines and environments to ensure pets feel comfortable.

“Jasmine did a great job on her doggy visit yesterday. She sent me videos of how my pup was doing and everything that she did she logged in the app. Pretty satisfied with her and booked her for other days and dog boarding for a week I'll be traveling.”
“Richelle took wonderful care of my cat Moose! She definitely pays attention to the little details and you can tell she truly cares for the well-being of your pet. Would 100% book with her again!”

About: My first job was to walk a neighbors dog who could no longer do it herself. I have had dogs for most of my life and they are amazing. I currently only accept being able to do drop in visits and walks. I have 2 kids that will be with me but they know to leave cats or dogs until they are comfortable with them. I give all animals the attention and time they need. I am currently a stay at home mom so I have a pretty flexible schedule that I am available to help get dogs and cats the attention that they need while your away. I will keep the pets as comfortable with me as I can. I plan on allowing dogs to get their walks in that they need and for their energy to be let out. I also know cats all have unique personalities and I would adjust how I would interact with them accordingly.
About: My parents raised Rottweiler when I was growing up, I've always had a dog beside me my whole life. I love animals so much they truly our peace. I'm a very trustworthy person and I have had a backgrounds checks done for pervious jobs that were required. I love animals and plants I would love to be apart of your fluffy friends life. About: Grew up with teacup chihuahuas and came to own large dogs and a cat! I am experienced with all age animals. I am even experienced in reptile care! I took vet tech courses in high school, so I have basic knowledge of animal/breed health problems. I am completely open! I am currently painting to occupy time, otherwise taking care of your pets is my top priority. I can be flexible with all needs! I care and treat animals with love and respect. Although my pets are fully trained and I trust them, they are wild animals. I am knowledgeable about their body language, so I can respect their boundaries and space. I know these are your babies, and they will get just as much love from me as you give them. Same goes for your home!

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Elko
Alexis was absolutely wonderful! She took exceptional care of my three cats while I was away and gave me complete peace of mind. She was reliable, attentive, and clearly treated my cats like they were her own. I really appreciated the updates and knowing they were happy, comfortable, and well cared for while I was traveling. I came home to three happy kitties and everything was just as I left it. I couldn’t have asked for a better pet sitter, and I would absolutely trust Alexis again in the future. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable, caring, and professional to care for their pets!

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
