About: My passion is taking care of animals and I am currently studying to be a veterinary technician. I have experience with in-home medical care for pets. Including giving oral medications, insulin shots, fluids, and other various treatments! I am currently spending most of my time completing my online education for my vet tech program, so I have a very flexible schedule for pet sitting! Ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and happiness of any pet that is in my care is always the highest priority of mine. My goal is to provide high-quality care for all pets to the owners’ satisfaction.
“I so appreciate Ellise's dedication to the job and our little Middy. Because of the fires we worked out a plan for evacuation. She stayed in communication with us while we all monitored the situation. Luckily no evacuation was needed. Also, Middy needed medication several times during the day and she was on it! The house was clean when we returned and Middy was a happy pup! Thanks, Ellise!!”

“Mary was so sweet and great with our Dane. She took good care of her. She cares about your animals and we trusted her with our baby. Will definitely go with her again!”

About: I love all animals and all breeds. Since I was young I have been caring for and around numerous types and breeds of animals. I have learned that much like people every dog, cat, lizard, etc has its own personality and needs. Im ready and willing to give your pets the best care and love imaginable while you're away. Im not afraid of difficult animals with harder temperaments. Im patient and want to be your pets new friend. This will be one of the main ways I earn money in parallel with Uber eats. If I take a pet sit job it will be prioritized over UberEats. My days and nights are pretty open. Im a single father of an almost 3 year old little girl. She loves animals too and if your fur baby is ok with kids she would love to play as well. I will follow all stipulations and requests for your pet to help keep their routine and keep them comfy and happy. I have a decent sized property. Some fenced. Most open. We are out in chattaroy so not much of the city by us. If your pets like other dogs/animals we do have 3 dogs that regularly visit the property. They all 3 are extremely friendly and playful. As I said above I will follow all regimens and requests by owner to keep your pets happy and comfortable in their routine.
“Katherine came through in the clutch for my dogs after my previous sitter had to cancel last minute. She was great with my dogs and sent pictures to me each day so I could see that they were having a blast with her. I would use her services again.”

About: I grew up with cats and dogs, learning how to properly take care of them and treat them to the best possible life! I have 2 wonderful kitties of my own currently! I actively pet sit for several different people in my life from co-workers, friends, and family! I have leash trained and command trained several different dogs at various ages of my life! Hi there! My name is Jensen! Monday-Friday I work as a gymnastics coach in the evenings. When I am not at work your fur babies have my full attention! I love to read and cuddle them on the couch, play some fetch or tug-a-war, or maybe some chase the string with kitties! My day to day hours can vary. For specifics please feel free to reach out I would love to chat and see if your fur babies and I could make a great pair! I like to think of pet sitting as a “doggy/kitty staycation” I prioritize not only the animals physical wellbeing but also their emotional wellbeing. I want every pet in my care to feel as though they’re on a little staycation with me! I ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all animals by allowing them to approach me when they feel safe to do so! I want to not only earn the trust of the owners i sit for but also the animals! If you’re looking for your pets new best friend you’ve found the right place! send me a message and we can schedule a time to talk! Or if you just have a question I’d be happy to answer it!
“Lauren was so great with our pets. It was the first time we used rover and she assured us every step of the way how our animals were doing and even sent pictures. We are moving out of state so we won't be able to use her again but will definitely recommend her to all our friends and family”

About: In the last three years I’ve raised 3 different puppies and taken care of a personal rescue. Aswell I’ve taken care of 3 senior/weak dogs at the same time with no issues. I currently work as a farm hand on my mom’s horse facility. So when home I’m out doing projects. But I can leave and stay anywhere if without much fuss. I have a nice fenced yard for free play time aswell as some land for them to really stretch the legs. I have two healers at my home. One spayed female 2yrs old, and one 7 month old male not neutered. They love to play but also jsut chill and cuddle.
“Tierra was amazing. Very kind and exceptional communication. She is very well-versed in animal care and was so good to our pups. She left the house nice and tidy and kept us updated while we were gone. Will absolutely book with her again.”
“Meredith was available for the Fourth of July holiday weekend which I appreciated very much. During our meet and greet, it was apparent Meredith has a very calm demeanor. Perfect for one of my pups who is a lil anxious. My fur babes took to Meredith right away, and she sent me pictures of them canoodling on her lap. Thank you so much!”
“Betty did a wonderful job taking care of our three dogs! She was very communicative and sent awesome photos and seemed to really just love on our pups while we were out of town for the weekend.”

“Sara was communicative and took great care of the our dogs and house! She gave updates and sent photos and worked with our dogs to make sure they were comfortable. We’d definitely work with her again.”

“this was the second time we used Wini to care for our dog, Sadie. Wini stayed with Sadie for 3 weeks so we could take an European bucket list trip over the holidays. Wini is amazing and provided such wonderful care for Sadie, we rarely worried about being gone. Communication remains excellent and the care provided by Wini is superior. I am certain we will book with Wini again when we need her supreme care! Thank you Wini.”

About: Hello, my name is Daphne! Before my black lab passed, I took care of her with my family for thirteen years. I’ve house sat and cared for dogs of friends in the past numerous times. Last year, I lived with a puppy training to be a service dog. I walked her every day, fed her, taught her different commands and spent lots of time taking her outside! I am very comfortable taking care of animals. My schedule is fairly flexible. I’m working two jobs but I make time for bookings. I love caring for pets because I don’t have any at the moment! I provide lots of love and care but also can be stern if a situation calls for correction. I’m very attentive to signs of emotional distress and can react accordingly whether that’s through physical affection, putting an animal in the crate or tending to whatever need they have!
“Liz was by far the best dog sitter we have had! I will absolutely book her again in the future. The dogs were happy, healthy and relaxed when we returned back home from a last minute trip so we could not have asked for a better sitter. She sent daily pics of the pups playing and updates on how everyone was doing. I would recommend her to house sit for everyone without any reservations. Thanks Liz again for house sitting for us!”

About: Animals and animal care has always been my passion, I’m currently working towards getting my bachelors degree in animal science and zoology! I’ve taken care of all kinds of animals and I’ve done a lot of rescue and rehoming! I love animals, from cats to fish, lizards and birds. I’m crazy about all of them. I’ve cared for babies and elderly of a lot of different species and I pride myself in always doing my best in taking care of all their needs. Ive got quite a few of my own babies at the moment but they’re all very friendly and adjust easily to new animals. I don’t currently work because I’m working towards getting my bachelors degree in animal science/zoology, so I’m home 24/7 to care for my own pets and school, I have two crate trained dogs, five cats, two frogs, two birds, fish, and a hamster, so I’m basically always cleaning and playing or training one or the other! While I live in an apartment, we have multiple fenced dog parks and ample walking area away from the roads for walkies with the dogs, my apartment is pretty spacious especially in the living room and animals are allowed around the whole apartment. If I were to watch your babies at your residence I would stick strictly to the rules you set for me and never overstep your boundaries or rules.
“Victorian (Tori) did such a great job with our senior dogs. She was patient and loving with them. She kept us updated and they and our house were well looked after. We so appreciated what she did for them and us. Great dog sitter.”

About: I’m not claiming to be the best pet sitter, but here’s what I do know. I love animals & I love a clean house! A little about me—I'm a 51 year old, mom of 2 twenty year old college students, & a big wellness chaser. I absolutely love animals and have always enjoyed caring for pets as if they were my own. Spending quality time with animals is something I genuinely look forward to, whether that's going for neighborhood walks, playing outside, or simply keeping them company. As an active tennis and pickleball player & runner, I appreciate being outdoors as often as possible. I also understand how important it is to leave a home exactly as I'd want someone to leave mine. I take pride in being clean, organized, and respectful of other people's spaces. My goal is always for homeowners to return to a happy, well-cared-for pet and a spotless, welcoming home. I'm comfortable following feeding schedules and administering medications as well. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I’m an active person, and caring for a pet complements my lifestyle perfectly. During the week, I easily schedule morning and evening walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship around my work schedule (which is flexible), and my tennis and pickleball activities. On weekends, my schedule is even more flexible, allowing for extra walks, outdoor adventures, and quality time. I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals, so making sure they’re happy, exercised, and well cared for is always a priority. I understand that leaving a beloved pet in someone else’s care requires a great deal of trust, and I take that responsibility seriously. My goal is to keep your pet’s routine as consistent as possible so they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’ll carefully follow your instructions for feeding, medications, walks, exercise, and any special preferences or routines you’ve established. I also believe a calm, tidy home helps pets feel secure. I’ll treat your home with the same respect and care I do my own, keeping it clean, locked, and well maintained. I’ll make sure your pet has plenty of attention, affection, exercise, and companionship while also watching for any changes in behavior or health. I’m happy to provide regular updates and photos so you can relax knowing your pet is happy, safe, and receiving excellent care until you return home.

“Ellie was great with our dogs while we are gone on vacation. She was able to handle all three of our dogs no problem and gave us updates daily so we could be at ease knowing they were in good hands the whole time. Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of September 2026, there are 696 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Elk. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Elk walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Elk maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Elk choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Elk. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
