About: What sets me apart as a sitter is the level of care, attention, and adaptability I bring to every pet I look after. I treat each animal like they’re my own, which means taking the time to understand their personality, routine, and specific needs so they feel safe and comfortable while you’re away. I currently work fulltime but weekends I am fully available! I love animals and always have since I was little. Growing up we’ve always have had dogs and cats. I have a fenced yard and we have plenty of room for the dogs to run around. I do also have a pug that is 6 years old but he is super friendly.

About: I have hands-on experience caring for multiple dogs at once, including a variety of breeds like Chihuahuas, Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, and Labs. Because of this, I’m very comfortable managing different temperaments, energy levels, and routines all at the same time. I have experience with puppies (feeding schedules, potty training support, and basic routine building) as well as adult and senior dogs who may need a calmer, more attentive approach. I’m also familiar with dogs that have sensitive skin or dietary needs, and I can carefully follow feeding instructions, including toppers or specific diets. What sets me apart is my ability to handle multi-dog households confidently while still giving each pet individual attention. I’m patient, observant, and focused on keeping pets comfortable, safe, and stress-free. I treat every dog like my own and always make sure they feel secure while you’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I already care for multiple dogs at home. I’m used to structured feeding times, walks, playtime, and rest schedules, so I’m very consistent and reliable with routines. I am flexible throughout the week and can adjust my schedule to meet the needs of each pet. Whether it’s early morning walks, midday drop-ins, or evening care, I make sure pets are checked on and cared for on time. I prioritize pet care as part of my daily responsibilities, not something I rush or squeeze in. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priority. I always follow owner instructions carefully, including feeding routines, medication schedules, and behavior guidelines. I pay close attention to each pet’s behavior so I can quickly notice if anything seems off. In my care, pets are kept in a calm, supervised, and pet-friendly environment. I make sure they always have clean water, a safe space to rest, and plenty of attention. If caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect your space, keep everything clean and organized, and follow your home rules exactly as instructed. I understand how important trust is when leaving your pet with someone, and I communicate regularly with updates, photos, and messages so you always know how your pet is doing

My dog has given her paw & wags of approval to ReShan. As a rescue, she takes her time to give trust & affection, & she has given both to ReShan. He has helped with walking & boarding my dog, who is large, strong & not well-trained. ReShan has her walking nice on the leash, giving me hope that I can also achieve it. He treats us both with love & respect. I am so thankful for his involvement in our lives. Thank you, ReShan, for your loving care of my best buddy.

About: Hi there, my name is Sarah. Aside from having my own dogs and cats, I’ve worked at two local pet hotels and have been around all sorts of animals my whole life. I love animals of all kinds, shapes, and sizes and I promise to treat yours like they’re my own. 😌 I’ve had pets since I was 4 years old and have volunteered at shelters in the Fresno area so I’m well versed in pet care. I also lived on a farm and have worked at 2 pet hotels so I have professional experience as well! I have a fenced yard and a bedroom dedicated to my boarders! Fit with a couch, a little TV, and many toys and blankets. Your pet will feel right at home! As for sitting, I take care to follow all pet parents instructions and contact the parent daily.

About: I like working with animals because they are so kind and have the best hearts. I've always loved animals. I have 2 cats but want a dog someday as well. I'm definitely both a dog person and a cat person. Being around animals brings me so much joy! I'm looking for a job that I can enjoy and truly look forward to during my free time. I have just recently graduated with a Master in Speech Pathology and I am working part time as a speech therapist. My love for animals makes this the perfect job for me! One thing you should know about me is that I was raised to be very respectful of one's home and space. This is very important to me to express as I apply for these positions. I want pet owners to feel assured that I will be mindful in their home and that I am grateful of their trust in me to take care of their fur baby/babies. I am currently only working on Mondays and Fridays. Every other day I have open to take care of your furry friends! I am open to overnights as well. I have 2 cats that I love with my whole heart. While I know that cat care and dog care are very different, the love that I would provide is the same. To me, it is important to give our pets the exercise, nutrition, and attention that they need.

About: I have worked in the animal care setting for 10 years. 2 years were in a shelter setting and 8 were as a Veterinary Assistant. I have also done pet sitting for about 8 years. I have ample experience working with pets both with and without medical issues and am comfortable administering medications and basic wound care (as prescribed or recommended by the pet's veterinarian). I have experience with basic behavioral assessment. I am confident working with all life stages and types of pets. I work from home so I get to spend all day with my cats. I feel like they provide more entertainment for me than any other source. I also routinely pet sit for friends and acquaintances. I take my cues from the client in how the pet is most comfortable in their home. I try to make the transition as easy as possible and not disturb the pet's daily routine to minimize stress and confusion. I provide the type of attention and affection that the pet is most comfortable with as well as trying to keep feeding, walking, and potty schedules as normal as possible.

About: From the time I was brought home from the hospital to mom life at 30, I’ve always had a dog by my side. Pets are like children and I care for them in just that way. We’ve adopted everything from abandoned puppies with no training, to senior dogs. Friends have relied on me to house sit their pups while away during the hot summer months, and have experience fostering kittens, dogs on medication and puppies going through potty training. I’m currently a stay at home mom. Two girls👧🏽👶🏽 and two boys🐶🐶. I’m rarely out of the house and have lots of time to play. We take walks daily, but also love our time on the couch, and would easily welcome another to snuggle with! My fur babies are great companions to both humans and other dogs so they’ll have a friend here if yours needs one. If there is ever any need for separation our yard is fenced and has a dividing gate down the middle. The main living space in our home can also be divided/closed off by Dutch doors which keeps the dogs from wondering, and allows me to keep them in close proximity to me. If keeping our boys separated from your fur babies makes you more comfortable we have a detached studio/garage we would be happy to utilize to keep ours in. If I am needed at your home, where your pet is most comfortable, I can easily be there to care for them. I also understand the importance of making sure everything is how you left it and that pets are secured inside when leaving. Knowing your babies are in loving hands is important. Let my family and I be their comfort blanket while away!

FAQs for Dog Walking - Elk

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 808 sitters on Rover offering Dog Walking across Elk. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Elk. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Elk.

Got specific details you'd like the dog walker to include? Message them in the app before your dog’s walk begins.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Elk. On Rover:

  • 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 100% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
