“She went out of her way to not only fill the water (which was normal) but she filled up our back porch water fountain as well! She sent pictures and she was kind and diligent with our animals. Very thankful!”

“Bethany was amazing! I expected my girl to be afraid of a stranger but she took right to her. I felt comfortable being gone for the weekend. Will definitely be using her services again.”

“Belinda goes above and beyond when caring for our pets. We had a sick doggy and we had to change the schedule around 3 or 4 times.. She was so understanding and accommodating, she took care of modifying the schedule each time! Our dogs love her and we would highly recommend her! She treats our pets as she would her own!! Thanks Belinda! You are the best!! :)”

“Lex was absolutely amazing and very accommodating! She took amazing care of my babies, she’s incredibly kind, and you can tell she takes pride in the work she does! Will definitely be hiring her again! 10/10”

“Nicole went above and beyond doing everything that I asked and more. I wanted somebody to come by and feed my cats because I didn’t want to leave them in kennels anymore when I’m gone. I wanted them to be in their home in each other’s company. Nicole not only fed them, changed their water, and changed their litter in their litter boxes but she gave them the love and attention that they needed in order to keep them happy in my absence. She communicated perfectly with me by posting pictures of them.”

“Ariel did a great job with our kitty -- took care of everything he needed and was diligent about her arrival timing. We appreciate this first visit and getting to know her and looking forward to more!”

About: My name is Nickole and I have been in the industry for over 14 years. I am canine CPR certified and a professional dog trainer. I am currently in training to become a Master Dog trainer. I have worked in several different kennels, rescues, and also have veterinary technician experience. During your furry family members stay they will get adequate playtime with others( non spay/neuter will get seperate play time alone). I have experience will all breeds, sizes, and temperaments!!! Rest assured that your leaving your baby in good hands. Dogs must be kennel trained or a fee will apply for nightime kennel training, for their safety all are kenneled at night and when/if someone isnt home.(Grocery shopping etc etc) Pet care is my full time job, I also work at a pet play place that your pups can come with me as long as they are up to date on shots! I always make sure your pets safety is my main concern, never outside with no leash unless the yard is fenced or allowed to play with other dogs while walking.
About: Hi!! I have had animals my WHOLE life, grew up on a farm so I’ve always been around animals. I have a cat that’s declawed and two kiddos in my home that love meeting new friends. I work from home and would love to help others by dog sitting and/or walking. I’m able to take the dogs out first thing in the morning, lunch time, and 2x in the evenings. I do have a fenced yard for the zoomies and a neighborhood with a sidewalk for walks. I look forward to getting to know your family pets and working together :) I take bookings only when I know I will have plenty of time during your pets stay to be sure they’re being walked and supervised while running around the yard. I have a fenced in yard for letting your pets outside and a crate, if your pet is crate trained. I am happy to follow any special instructions that you may have for your pets.
“Jennifer is the BEST! We wouldn’t want anyone else watching our pup at this point! Her communication, commitment to her animals, and her positive attitude make her the best sitter for when you need someone! We are so appreciative!”

About: I’m reliable and flexible. I will spend quality time with your babies. I will take them for walks and play. I will love them like they are my own. I can follow whatever routine you have. I do work full time but before and after work won’t be a problem. I will make sure to keep them on the same routine. I can care for your pets in your home better than them being boarded or kenneled. I can housesit and take care of your pets. If your dogs need to be bathed I can bath them.
“Sarah was fantastic! We have a senior cat with health issues that requires medication every day. We were very worried about leaving her for so long we needed someone we could feel confident in to care for her. Sarah communicated every day and made us feel very at ease the entire time.”

“We love Courtney, she was so sweet with the boys! Sent me some adorable photos of them and we had a quick meet and greet just a couple days before on short notice, so that was super helpful and I greatly appreciated it. I’ll definitely be booking with her again eleven the time arrives. 😊”

About: I have not only been taking care of my own dogs, but my friends, families, and neighbors as well! I’m very gentle and I keep a close eye on them. Making sure that they are always fed, watered, and HAPPY! I will do my best to keep your pet on their daily routine. This means that their feeding schedule and potty breaks will remain the same. That’s the best way to ensure they continue to feel happy and comfortable with me! My schedule is very very flexible! I can watch your pet on weekdays, weekends, holidays, and overnight! Whatever you need, I can do! I also understand that travel plans could abruptly change, (flights get delayed, etc.) so don’t worry. If something happens, I will not leave your pet until you are able to get home. I would love to not only get to know your pet, but you as well! I have a fenced in yard with two wonderful dogs! I have also watched my sisters apartment dog, who needs to be walked for potty breaks. I feed my animals twice a day, they always have water, snuggles and walks… with the occasional treat as well! ☺️

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Elberta. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
