“Our dogsitter did a great job! She sent plenty of pictures of our boys and was quick to answer any questions or requests we had. Not to mention, our house was left just as it was when we left.”

About: I have personally walked miles and miles with my own, very energetic Weimer. I had Cooper (my Weimer) for 14 years and we walked literally every single day, rain, snow, cold etc. We now have our 2nd Weimer and back at it again; love the exercise they provide for us!! I often walk my sisters dogs when she can’t due to health issues. I’m ready, and have my walking shoes on! I’m retired now and walking my dog keeps me moving and I love it! I’m ready to add additional exercise for your dogs too! Let’s go! We have a fenced yard and one 9 year old friendly Weimer. We keep our dog inside but playtime occurs outdoors on every good day we find!!
About: I'm Steve and I have my own very well behaved 5 year old chocolate lab named Beanie. We have a welcoming home for you and your pets. I'm pretty flexible at the moment. I can come to your house for walks or feedings but cannot stay the night. Me and my mom are both home alot so we can keep an eye on and take very good care of your pets. I have a fenced yard, pet door to the back yard, a sweet chocolate lab, a helpful mother and a good neighborhood. Let's see if we're a good fit!
About: I have always grown up with dogs. My dogs are my babies. I have always been someone friends and family call to watch their animals when they’re out of town. I love all kinds of dogs (large, small, senior, puppies) you name it I’ll love it. I currently have a full time day job but am always available after 5pm. I am almost always available on the weekends. I am willing to stop by anytime I can as long as it fits into my workweek schedule. I am always respectful of the home, property, and animals. I am very respectful and professional. I am a very neat and clean person who will always pick up after themselves!

About: I have taken care of pets since I was 9. I have raised several dogs from puppies to senior dogs. I am very well versed in potty training, bathing, and responsible play. For many years I have bathed and walked dogs for my family and friends in addition to taking care of my own. I absolutely love animals and look forward to giving yours all the love and attention it needs! I am a stay at home mom whose kids are all in school now. So that means I have a lot of free time for your pets! I currently have a dog who does not like other dogs, so staying at my house is unfortunately not an option. I do however love getting to visit other pets and thoroughly enjoy taking long walks with them or having a play session with them.

About: I’ve had several family dogs growing up which jumpstarted my passion and love for animals. Over a year ago I adopted my own dog from a local shelter(it was the best decision I have ever made)! Throughout high school I would pick up dog sitting gigs, where I would watch after the house and tend to the pets needs, providing love and enrichment. Im very flexible with my schedule and would love to help a fellow pet parent out! I currently am enrolled in college, and finish classes in the early afternoon and will be working a part-time job at the university. With this being said it will leave me with plenty time for your fur babies! I live in an apartment with a dog park where your furry friend is always welcome! I also have a very friendly rescue pup of my own, and she’s always looking for a new friend! Having a border collie mix, I know the importance of walks and frequent enrichment!
“We had an amazing experience with Rachael! She watched our Rottweiler, Maggie, for an extended period of time and took such great care of her. Rachael was incredibly friendly, kept us updated with pictures, and gave Maggie plenty of love and attention while we were away. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our fur baby was in great hands. We would absolutely recommend Rachael and will definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve cared for animals my entire life and have owned and trained animals professionally for 7 years. I would love to take care of yours! I work from home on my farm, Longhorn Arena. Meaning I am with the animals 24/7. I ride and train horses professionally and run a rodeo arena. I live on property and have the perfect set up to care for your furry friends. I have 4 friendly dogs on property, and the set up to crate several dogs if necessary. The arena is set on 30 acres of pasture land. So they can sniff and explore to their hearts content, including running in the fenced arenas, as well as miles of walkable roads surrounding us. We are off a state highway so safety is my biggest priority.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Duquesne
Autumn has a truly special way with dogs. During our first meet-and-greet at the park, Pica-Miel—who is usually reserved—quickly warmed up to her and allowed her to pet her within minutes. Parcero, as friendly as ever, felt comfortable with her right away. While I was away for two weeks, Autumn provided daily updates with videos and photos, which brought me so much peace of mind. It was my first time leaving my dogs with someone else, and her thoughtful communication made all the difference. She is reliable, caring, and brings a calm, positive energy that animals naturally respond to. I feel genuinely lucky to have crossed paths with her in Joplin MO. Thank you!

The average cost of House Sitting in Duquesne is $31 per night as of October 2026. Most bookings cost between $29 and $37 per night. On Rover, sitters set their own rates based on factors such as their experience, the length of care, the number of pets, and your pet’s specific needs. Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Duquesne walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Duquesne maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Duquesne choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
