“Haley was awesome with our frenchie and two cats. This was our first time using Rover. She followed all the instructions for our babies. She made sure they received the attention they deserved and sent update photos for every visit. She was also on time every visit as well. She is much appreciated for the care she provided while me and my wife were away on vacation and I highly recommend her to others, and will be using her again in the future.”

About: I've taken care of dogs since I was little! I've always loved animals and wanted to take on the responsibility of caring for them. Whether this was my next door neighbors or my own, I was always up for the job! I own a mini horse (my 1 year old saint bernard), 1 inside only cat, and 2 outside cats. As for work, I am a fourth grade teacher and have the patience and enthusiasm to be the pet sitter you need. Currently, I am a 4th grade teacher and because of my schedule, I am only able to board animals from Friday afternoon through Sunday. I am available to do drop in visits Monday through Sunday. I have a fenced in backyard that connects to another fenced in yard belonging to my parents and their two dogs. These areas are closed off unless I want the dogs to have some play time. All 3 dogs, including my own, are very sweet and get along well! Dog can be easily crated if needed, I own a large crate with a lot of room. As for your home, I will treat it like it's my own and love your pets like they are my own. Animals provide a nice change from the chaos that goes on in the everyday life of a teacher. I look forward to taking your fur baby on walks, providing enrichment, and other pet related needs!

About: I have been taking care of animals for 3 years now. This includes horses, cats, bunnies, and dogs of all sizes and ages. I also volunteered at an animal hospital for 1 year and gained knowledgable information I still use today! I am currently working from home where I make my own schedule so I can fit any dates or times you may need your furry friend to be looked after! I am very careful with all animals no matter the activity. Wether that be having a firm and focused grip on a leash when walking your furry pal or being aware of other animals that could cause unforeseen troubles, I am very vigilant when it comes to the safety of your animal.
“Riley was great with our cats. It can be tough to handle 5 hungry babies at once, but she had no issues. She was able to care for our diabetic cat and give him his insulin injections at a timely manner, all while making sure he didn’t eat the other cat’s food. We would definitely hire her again in the future!”

“Sami was great with our girls. She communicated regularly and even stayed a bit longer when I was slower to respond. Very attentive and observant about change in behavior. Thank you for taking great care of our girls!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs almost my entire life, so caring for animals has always been a big part of who I am! For the past 5 years, I’ve been pet sitting for neighbors, friends, and family, giving me experience with dogs of all ages, sizes, and personalities. From energetic puppies who need extra attention and playtime to sweet senior dogs who need a little more patience and care, I love them all! I also have a big dog back home named Hank, so large breeds definitely don’t intimidate me! Whether your pet is big or small, young or old, I’m happy to give them all the love and attention they deserve. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I’ll treat your furry family members just like they’re my own! I am a full time student but my class schedule is flexible and gives me plenty of time for visits and time to take care of your pups multiple times throughout the day. One of my biggest priorities when caring for your pets is making sure they feel as comfortable, relaxed, and loved as possible! I know every pet has their own personality and routine, so I always do my best to match the energy and environment they’re used to at home. Whether that means lots of playtime, long walks, extra cuddles, or simply having someone there to keep them company, I’m happy to do whatever makes them feel most at ease! I understand that being away from their owners can sometimes be stressful for pets, so I want to be a familiar, comforting presence they can count on. My goal is to keep their routines as normal as possible and make sure they feel safe, happy, and cared for every step of the way.

I am big on staying fit and healthy, so I take daily walks to get my steps in. I am very accommodating, so nothing is ever too much for me. I’ve had pet parents ask me to scramble eggs for their fur babies and put it on top of their dog food, and I’ve also had pet parents tell me to only feed their fur baby with a spoon, so please don’t hesitate to ask for any special request, because I aim to please! I work from home during the week and I have lots of down-time allowing me to interact and play with your fur baby . I am off during weekends and holidays I have a big house with an unfenced yard, and a loving family that will play and love on your fur baby. We will take daily walks, play outdoors, and have lots of play time and cuddles.

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
