Isabella is really good with dogs. She did a great job! She kept my husband and I updated. Sent pics and texts. Very knowledgeable made me actually enjoy my trip knowing Tyson & Cooper were in good hand. House was in clean when we got home, she went ahead and made sure everything was good. Highly recommend. Thank you!

I cannot recommend Syd highly enough! She stayed at my home for two weeks while I was away and took amazing care of my Leo. From the moment I left, I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. She kept me updated, gave Leo plenty of love, attention and care, and treated him like he was her own. Not only did she take wonderful care of Leo, but she also looked after the fish, watered my plants, and kept my house in great shape. Coming home to a happy dog and a well-cared-for home was such a relief. She went above and beyond in every way, and I would absolutely book her again. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, responsible, and genuinely caring, Syd is the one!

Ilene was amazing and took great care of our 2 dogs and cat while we were out of town for the weekend. Our dogs can be a little wary of new people, but warmed up to Ilene right away. We appreciated the updates and communication and would definitely rebook with Ilene again in the future!

About: I worked at a kennel for a year but I've had dogs all my life. There's never been a year I haven't had a dog. I have three dogs of my own currently so I take care of them almost every day. I also play and cuddle them every day and give them all the love they deserve. I have three dogs of my own currently so I take care of them almost every day. Renee was awesome! She took very good care of our dogs while we were gone. I have spoiled, finicky dogs and she followed directions to a T. She is a true dog lover. She sent updates and pictures daily. As an added bonus, my house was cleaner when I returned than when I left. I highly recommend Renee to pet and house sit.

For the first time ever, our cat wasn't traumatized by our vacation so Khadijah has my high recommendation! She kept trying to make friends with our antisocial kitty, took good care of him, our bird feeding, our plants and our home. She reported daily with photos which I really appreciated. She's responsible and caring and I'm grateful to her!

About: I give personal, one-on-one care. I am not overbooked or rushing between multiple pets. When your dog is with me, they become my priority. I follow your routines carefully, keeping you updated with photos and notes, and create a comfortable environment where they can relax. I’m dependable and genuinely invested in making your dog feel safe and well cared for every single time. I am with my kids most days, so dog sitting fits into our regular home routine. The dogs are part of the household during their stay- they get walks, playtime, and attention throughout the day while kids are at school or busy doing their own activities. I’m always home and focused on making sure every dog feels safe and well cared for. When I’m not with kids I’m am very open to bringing my services to other homes. I care for dogs in my home, where they become part of my daily routine. They get regular walks, playtime, and quiet rest in a comfortable space. I stick closely to their normal schedule so they feel at ease in a new place. You’ll get updates with photos so you never have to wonder how they are doing.

This was our first-time using Rover for our dog, and we had a very positive experience with Abigail! She did a meet & greet, which was very helpful and made us confident that she and Cooper would be a good match. She sent pictures and kept us posted when her plans changed, and she needed to take Cooper to her house to finish the week...the pictures she sent proved he made himself right at home! We were very pleased and will definitely use her again. Thank you!

We had a great experience with Deanna while we were away for 5 nights! Leaving our two pups, Dino and Ghost, is never easy but knowing they were in such good hands gave us so much peace of mind. What stood out to us was how quickly Ghost, usually slow to warm up to new people, felt comfortable. That’s a huge deal for us as pet parents! Deanna was calm, patient, and clearly has a special way with animals. We came home to two happy, relaxed dogs, and our home was just as we left it. We truly appreciated the updates and communication while we were away, and it’s clear our pups were loved and well taken care of the entire time. Highly recommend and would welcome Deanna back anytime! 🐾

In-home pet care for our two older dogs is preferable to boarding and Kristine did a great job looking after our fur babies while we were out of town for a long weekend. Kristine communicated with us on a regular basis and was not hesitant to ask questions. We will definitely consider using Kristine's services again when needed.

About: I’ve taken care of pets for family & friends over the years, and I’m looking to pet-sit/house-sit more often by using Rover! I have experience with dogs and cats. I mostly stay in the home while the owner is away to maintain stability for the pet, while owners are away on trips. I love spending time with animals and snapping funny or cute photos of them to share with their owners while they’re away! I’ll take good care of your fur-baby and show them lots of love! I’m available for walks, feedings, potty breaks and play time for individual days or several days at a time! I work full time M-F but can work remotely from your home and take breaks! I believe that pets are most comfortable when we stick to their schedules, so I do my best to keep to them! I also enjoy texting photos and updates to their owner.

I know how important it is to provide calm, attentive care and make pets feel safe and loved while their people are away! My schedule is very open and flexible for pet care! I’m available most days and can easily adjust my routine around each pets need- whether that’s early morning walks, middays visits or evening cuddles. I am also available for weekend care and overnight stays so your pup always has company and consistency while you’re away. About: I’ve taken care of lots of animals including dogs for over 13 years! In addition to caring for my own animals, I have been relied on by others to care for their pets as well. I consistently work on training with both my dog and cat. Currently, my dog Nani is learning to search for edible mushrooms on our hikes! I work remotely and make my own schedule so I have lots of flexibility/availability throughout the week! My work allows me to take time during the day to go on walks or to work on training/socializing as needed. I have my own friendly dog and cat who are very active. We go on lots of walks and play throughout the day. My focus is creating healthy stimulation and activities for our pets.

About: I have two dogs, Murphy who is 5, and Moose who is 3. I’ve had bunnies, plenty of cat experience, and even turtles! I feed, bathe, walk, and take care of family pets and friends pets when they are away. I’m currently about to start my first year of college! Pet care and sitting will be more suitable for me than most other jobs since I can work with hours that best suit me I have a yard and two small dogs, I do prefer to watch and care for animals in my clients home just due to Murphy being a tad skittish.

FAQs for House Sitting - Drehersville

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 605 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Drehersville. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Drehersville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Drehersville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Drehersville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Drehersville. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 93% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 93% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
