About: Hello! I am a stay at home mom to a 1.5 year old little girl and I am looking to make some extra cash for our family. I've owned dogs since I was a little girl. I have had two labs, one Boston terrier, one pug, and one chihuahua. My husband and I have two dogs of our own, a Mini Australian Shepard and a Lab/Dachshund mix. I love all animals and will dedicate my time to taking care of, having fun, and being a companion to them. I have always been a dog person, but have also owned a cat in the past. Therefore, I would love to care for both! My friends and family would describe me as a caring person with a big heart. I am very easygoing and down to Earth. I love caring for animals and children. If you choose me as a sitter or walker, you would not be disappointed! I am looking forward to meeting with you! I live in a very safe, family-friendly neighborhood in Topeka with a fenced-in backyard. I am willing to travel up to 15 miles if needed to provide care!

About: Located on 10 acres in rural Hoyt, Kansas, Hughes & Hounds provides a spacious safe haven for your furry family members. Our set-up, previously used for dog breeding, includes two (working on three) spacious backyard pens that are the full package deal, including: big shade trees, big water bowls, a doggie igloo and free doggie treats (if you approve of course!). For a small additional fee, you may request a small dog pool in your dog's pen for the duration of their stay, for those hot summer months. Please note that our dog daycare and boarding services are OUTDOOR ONLY and really for farm/outside dogs, bigger dogs, or dogs with high energy. We will accept any sized dog as long as they’re used to staying outside during the day! With two young kids in the home, we will only bring your dogs inside if the owner provides a crate and only if requested for night time (with the exception of severe weather where they would be crated indoors as well). Our schedules are unique in that we are home most days, aside from running errands, and will be able to check on your furry pals often during their week & weekend stays with us. We are flexible and want to make sure your wishes are heard. So if you want us to play with your dogs, send you pictures, give treats - we are here for it. But if your dog prefers to not be bothered too much and is good with the essentials - we are here for that too. You tell us how we can provide the most comfortable atmosphere for your dogs. As far as experience goes, I've been a dog sitter on and off from elementary school through college and have volunteered lots of hours to our local shelter.... I love dogs and they're in good hands! :) This is a NEW and fun business adventure for our small family and we do not take it lightly! Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions-we will respond promptly. I stay at home with my kids and my husband's schedule allows him to be home more days than not so we feel confident that we can take good care of your dog(s) while they stay here. Since we have the space we thought "why not?" when it came to the idea of dog boarding. We were not using our back 3 pens, other than allowing our dogs to roam them. There were some escape artists when the pens were originally used for breeding, so safety features include covered corners so dogs are unable to climb up and out using the corner fencing. Cement was also laid around the boundaries of the pens so digging cannot occur. If your dog likes to jump fences that would be a concern and a reason why we may not be a good fit for you. Of course, plenty of cold, fresh water will always be available to your dog(s) during their stay.

About: Dogs and cats have always been part of my world, and I’ve always connected with them deeper than most! Coming into adulthood, my first fur baby was “adopted” from my grandparents. Since then, I’ve adopted two fur babies, become a fur step mama and fostered several others! Caring for your pets the way I care for my own is my passion and a non-negotiable in my work. My current clients often refer to me as “Aunt Nae” when it comes to their fur babies, THAT is how much I mean to them and them to me! The only job I have is remote, and as necessary! So I am able to be around with and for your pets 24/7. One of my standard practices is to only leave your pet(s) for 4 hours or less, unless previously given the pet parents permission. Your pets will be treated as my own would, while following your house rules! If they’re allowed on furniture, I’ll snuggle them on the couch and in the bed! If they’re not, I respect that too! Used to getting up and walking at 5am? I’ll keep that routine! My goal is to maintain their “normal” while you are away and to be the best stand in “auntie” or caregiver for them.
