About: Hi! I’m a college student based in Dover, also serving the Sandpoint area. I’ve grown up around dogs and have had my own for several years, so I’m very familiar with daily care like walks, feeding, and maintaining routine. Having cared for my own very energetic dog, I’m comfortable with dogs of different sizes, energy levels, and personalities. I’m calm and patient with dogs and take time to make sure they feel comfortable with me. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors — hiking, running, and staying active — so I’m more than happy to take dogs on walks or play outside. I’m available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and occasional house sitting. My priority is to make your pet feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. I’m also happy to send regular photo and video updates so you can see how your pet is doing. I have a flexible schedule, so pet care fits well into my weekly routine, and I’m able to plan my day around bookings. I’m available for dog walking, drop-in visits, and house sitting. I’m typically active during the day and enjoy spending time outdoors, so walks and visits fit in naturally. I treat every client’s home with respect and follow all care instructions closely. I focus on keeping pets safe, comfortable, and well cared for while I’m with them. I’m also happy to send photo and video updates of your pet.

About: I LOVE animals! Dogs, cats, goats, horses, rabbits, basically all of the furry friends! We've had dogs and cats my whole life (from puppies and kittens to grumpy old men dogs). I've taken care of many of my friends and families dogs in my home and in their homes. Summer hours can vary but someone is generally home to give pets plenty of attention and potty breaks. I’m working 4 nights a week while my husband works 5 days a week and my 12 year old kiddo is on summer break. I have six acres with trails for walking your dogs! I have an old, friendly dog plus two dog savvy cats. I do not have a fenced area but will leash walk the dogs (or no leash at owners request). I have hard wood floors and stairs that may not be ideal for tripods or aging senior dogs (unless they’re used to that). I no longer have a kennel, but if you bring one and want your dog kenneled I can do that. Your pup will enjoy lots of pets, snuggles, play time both indoors and outdoors and of course treats (as approved by pet parents)!

Michelle is amazing! She was able to help us with a haphazard walking schedule for our almost 1 year old German shepherd on very short notice. We met and I could tell she is a lover of dogs. Rex was clearly well loved and cared for in her time spent with him over about 6 visits or so. I’d definitely reach out to her again with future needs!!

About: Over the last 5 years, I have taken care of friends’ dogs and have done a bit on Rover as well. I’ve had my own fur ball for over 3 years now and he is my world. I love the connection and love we can share with dogs, no matter the shape, size, breed, or gender. I’m currently working part time so I’ll have plenty of time to play with your pups! When I do work, I don’t start until 3pm so we’ll have the whole morning. Along with dog-sitting, I have done a lot of house cleaning in the past so I know how to leave a house better off than I found it. I also have a super friendly border collie/lab mix that loves to play with other dogs!

About: Growing up, I raised dogs, cats, rabbits, ducks, and chickens, actively participating in 4-H. Now my husband and I have two active, large dogs, one we raised as a puppy and the other we adopted as an adult. We did PetSmart training for our two dogs so we have some tips and tricks if you are interested. We walk or go to the park daily for exercise for our two dogs, but we are open to different routines for our guest pups! I work from home full-time so will be with your pets during the day. We walk our dogs daily or go to the dog park. My husband is in and out due to his schedule, but generally one or both of us is always home with the dogs. Our dogs are inside most of the time (with me) but can go outside when needed. They have free reign of our home. Lots of love given during the day, plus fetch in the yard! If we are gone for a bit, we leave them inside for safety. We can easily accommodate kennels for your pups! We typically keep our dogs separate from yours. People in the home include me and my husband (no children). We are in a house with a fenced yard and no pool.

About: I have been house and dog sitting since I was in my teens. I have a Yorkie myself that is registered as a service animal and needs to travel with me, but she is amazing with both dogs and cats, is hypoallergenic, doesn’t shed, and is house-trained. I know how important it is for some pets to be in their familiar environment while you are away, and I’m here to help meet whatever needs they have in their normal routine, including walks, medications, watering plants, bringing in mail/packages, and cleaning up any unexpected messes your pet may have. I’m meticulously clean, responsible, and respectful of your space. I love to hike with my own dog and we’re very active so I’m happy to meet any exercise needs your dog may have as well. Reach out to book today! Your fur babies and home are in good hands. I work full-time M-F, but I’m salaried and could absolutely come check on your pet every couple of hours, if needed, around work meetings. I’m happy to provide walks in the morning, afternoon or evening to maintain your pet’s normal routine. I’m available all day on weekends and all evening. I know how important it is for some pets to remain in their home when their parents are away. I’m happy to give your pet that comfort and security while providing additional services, such as cleaning up any unexpected pet messes, bringing in your mail, and watering houseplants. I have a small service dog that needs to travel with me, but she is great with both cats and dogs, is hypoallergenic, and doesn’t shed. I’m meticulously clean and responsible, and love animals.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
