“Gigi was very receptive to my wishes for my dogs. Both my dogs suffer from a range of reactivity issues and Gigi handled them so wonderfully. She showed such love and compassion toward them. They are looking forward to their weekly walks with her!”

About: For nearly 20 years, I’ve lovingly cared for my own pets and friends’ animals, providing them with feeding, walks, meds, playtime, and lots of reliable care. I currently work remotely and set my own schedule, which allows me to provide cat sitting during regular business hours (evening visits are typically okay as well), seven days a week. I’m flexible when needed, within reason. I provide care exclusively in my clients’ homes so pets can stay comfortable in their familiar environment. I don’t offer care in my own residence because I have two cats who don’t mix well with other pets. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding, walks, medication, playtime, and companionship, while keeping their space clean and stress-free.
“Polaris was very punctual and professional! She also quickly made a strong relationship with my usually shy/lazy dog, which i really appreciated! I will absolutely book with Polaris again!”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs of all ages and many different breeds over the past 12+ years. I have experience with special needs dogs and puppies as well! I’m currently working part-time but have availability most weekends, especially Sun-Mon. I also love to workout and run, so I’d love to bring your dogs along with me on my runs if interested! I have a big backyard that is electrically fenced, and I live near many nice walking trails. I also have a puppy at home that is very friendly and loves playing with other pups!
“Emma is wonderful! She does such a good job with my energetic Australian Shepherd! Their mid-day walks have been perfect to burn extra energy! So grateful for Emma’s flexibility and my dog absolutely loves her.”

About: I have grown up with animals my entire life and have had the privilege of living alongside dogs, cats, reptiles, and fish. I love caring for any and all animals- and also plants. I currently have a purebred mutt who has been my traveling companion and best friend for a few years now. She is very energetic and loves the outdoors, so we frequently go adventuring around Juneau, AK. Aside from pets, I also have experience caring for aquatic animals in a research setting. I currently have a handful of other part-time jobs; however, my schedule is flexible so I can always make time to watch and walk your fur baby (or other) as needed. I am rather active and am able to cater to the needs of your pet whether it be a long hike on a local trail or an easy slow-paced stroll through the neighborhood. I would also love to come keep your pet company if needed, whether it be a puppy who can hardly stay out of trouble or an older pet who needs a little extra love on those long workdays. I can also do drop-in visits to feed other animals such as fish! ><>
About: I am ready to look after your sweet dogs! I have been an animal lover for my whole life, and have a wide variety of experiences with dogs and paying attention to their unique needs. All animals communicate, and I'm ready to hear what your dogs have to say. As I have over 10 years of experience looking after my own dogs and dog sitting, I am well prepared to handle anything your dogs might try to throw at me (usually I throw for them, I adore a game of fetch). I am a great snuggler as well as an enthusiastic outdoors person. Your pet will probably go hiking, berry picking, or snowshoeing! I love an adventure buddy. Your pet's comfort and happiness are of utmost priority. I am here to keep them happy, and give you peace of mind. I am currently working a flexible part time, so I will have plenty of time for your pups. I have availability for dog sitting, but I am available during the day for walks as well. I want your dog to be comfortable, which makes staying in your space while dog sitting a priority. I would prefer to adapt to their space than them to mine. I'd love to know what their favorite treats and comfortable spot are in your house.
About: I’ve owned pets all my life. From cats, dogs, rats, fish, chameleons and snakes, I love them all! I’m heavily trusted by friends and family whenever they need care for their animals. We also love a long walk in this alaskan rainforest. Looking forward to meeting your fur baby! I have a pretty light work schedule until summertime rolls in, so I have lots of time to walk and play! I’m available for play dates, drop ins, and walks most days depending on the time. Currently Thursdays and Fridays are completely open. I have a lovely humble one bedroom apartment downtown. My 9 year old Shepard mix lives here with me. We go on long walks on the flume and perseverance trail, and visit the dog park and beach for swimming. I love taking dogs out on adventures and getting them tired! There’s nothing that makes me happier than being out with them.
“I needed help with dog walking super last-minute and Lauryn was very flexible and responsive. I really appreciate her taking great care of my senior dog and would recommend you reach out to her!”

About: I worked in a doggy boarding/daycare facility for over a year as a Kennel Tech, which gave me experience in all ages, breeds, and sizes. Ive also got lots of knowledge in animal behavior, as I had to run behaviorist tests on each one to group them properly for play camp. Your furry friends deserve a knowledgeable & understanding caregiver, and I’m your girl! I’m currently unemployed, as I just moved here from TN not long ago. Aside from caring for my two year old son, I have unlimited time! Working with pups has been a passion of mine for over two years & I’ve got all the time in the world to spend with yours while you’re away! Your fur baby can be crated as needed, although it’s unlikely. But if a crate is not present, a lead will do to keep them safe!
“Lisa is phenomenal. There’s not enough words to describe my appreciation for her! Miss Sadie has a great time on all of their adventures, and we’re incredibly grateful for all she does!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and cats all my life! I’ve lived in Alaska for 3 years now and with my 2 year old lab, Hobbes. I’m very active and outdoorsy person who understands the juggles of work and making sure you pet is cared for! Happy to follow whatever routine you and your pet have or any other pet care requests! My works hours fluctuate a lot during the week and weekend. I am off during the day on some days and working nights other days. I sometimes work weekends. So I’ll be very open and upfront if my schedule doesn’t align with your pet’s care routine! I am huge on meeting you and your pet prior to beginning services to ensure you and your pet are comfortable with me prior to drop-ins or walks! I am happy to bring my dog, Hobbes, or leave him at home. My top goal is to be flexible to whatever your pet’s needs are to ensure you and your pet feel safe and comfortable.
About: I’ve lived with dogs for 15 years and love spending time with and caring for them. I’ve had 3 puppies at once and cared for a senior dog for years! I currently have no in-person obligations, so I am free every day any time of the week to be there for your pets, early mornings and late nights! I am able to care for your pets in your home, and I have trustworthy transportation to safely take them on adventures (if you’d like!).
About: My mom is a lover of dogs, so naturally, growing up with at least 10 at a time, I became a dog lover too. Our dogs ranged from 100 lbs to 5 lbs, and as you can imagine, each with very unique personalities. Taking care of animals is second nature to me. I also had the pleasure of owning multiple cats, birds, bunnies and yes, even ducks! I have a lot of energy & love to excersize, so going to the park, on a walk, a run or to the beach is something I sincerely enjoy doing :) Unfortunately, as per my renters lease, I cannot allow animals into my home but will be happy to walk/care for and/or animal sit at your home! I work seasonal (summer job), and have all the time for animal care in the winter! I can accommodate any schedule that your animal is used to. I prefer a meet and greet prior, so that I can fully understand and run through your schedule with your pet/pets. I believe it is important to maintain that schedule for them while you are away.

Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Douglas. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Douglas.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every walker on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
