“Nice work!”

“Abby's initial response to Micki on her introductory meeting was so positive I knew immediately she would be a great sitter! Though Abby is usually shy and reticent at first, she was happy to see Micki and accepted treats from her as if she were an old friend. I felt confident in her being taken care of and didn't give it a second thought on a very busy day: it gave me huge peace of mind. Thanks, Micki...we'll call you again for sure!!”

“Olivia was amazing with my puppy, Sir Elton! I trusted her completely and he was so happy and fulfilled after his day with her. Highly recommend Olivia.”

About: I've been caring for dogs and cats since I was 10 years old, giving me years of hands-on experience. I'm comfortable with pets of all ages—from playful puppies to senior companions—and I treat every animal like family. I'm available for pet care every weekday after 5 PM and fully available all day and night on weekends. Whether it's evening walks, overnight stays, or weekend visits, I can provide reliable and flexible care to fit your pet's needs. I treat every pet as if they were my own, making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved whether in my home or theirs. I also send regular updates so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands. My home features a fully fenced, secure backyard where dogs can safely play and relax under supervision.

About: I have been dog sitting for years but started Rover in 2022. I started out caring for my two pugs and cat, and have been sitting for family, friends, and folks on Rover. The rest of the days I am here to help, so they can get all the love and attention they can get while you’re away! When I am at a client’s home I make sure fencing is secured if needed. My home has a fence as well. I also make sure they have enough place to play whether it could be inside or out. I prefer to be outside with them! I love being active with animals but if you’re pet is somewhat a couch potato OR old, I can comfort them in whatever way they feel comfortable.

“Paola did a great job caring for my cats. They hid out a lot, but she made sure that they were well fed and taken care of. I would certainly use her again.”

“Clair is the best! Trusting someone with our baby has been tough, and she makes us all feel comfortable every step of the way. She also pays attention to important details and is flexible and reliable.”

About: I live all first friends and critters! From caring for young puppies learning potty training to senior kitties with medical needs, I feel comfortable learning the best way to help your loved ones feel safe and comfortable☮️ sometimes a pet wants to run and play and sometimes they want to just share some quiet time from a distance, the best way to care for a pet is to read their body language! I work full time but have lots of time on weekends for pet care! Dog walks are best for me during the week but weekends afford me more time for longer visits. I take safely and security very seriously. It is absolutely imperative to me to follow owners instructions with care and attention to detail. I would never take a risk with a pet and my full attention is on your loved one during the visit.

About: There is not a time in my life pets have not been present. I grew up in the country living with and caring for dogs, cats, goats, pigs, chickens and horses. My partner and I currently have three whippets that we consider members of our family. I train my whippets for show and racing but have had experience with many breeds in my lifetime and I love them all. If you have sighthounds, I know how difficult it can be to find someone capable of understanding the unique nature of these prey driven yet comfort seeking breeds and caring for them in the way they require. Ours sleep in our beds with us and love snuggling on the sofa. In a past career, I was an equine physical therapist so I am adept at taking care of animals that have special requirements (ie. Administering meds, special exercise and diet restrictions, wound dressings, puppies, etc). I will treat your pet(s) like they are my own so they feel secure and happy when they are in our home as they assimilate to our pack of friendly whippets. We live on three horse-fenced, secure acres in rural Sebastopol and our dogs have anywhere from 2-6 hours (weather depending), or more of supervised outdoor playtime and exploration. I have never met a dog that doesn’t love staying with us. We look forward to meeting and welcoming your family member! I work full-time from home which gives me flexibility to spend time caring for our pets. We are generally up by 7am when everyone goes out for their morning potty time, then back in the house for breakfast and relaxing. I don’t let our dogs run until at least 30 minutes after they have eaten. Once it’s warm enough outside we go out for our morning romp around the property and ball play. Then back in the house while I work. All dogs want to be where I’m working. Our dogs are always with us and follow us everywhere, inside or outside. We are a happy pack. In the afternoon, we generally all go out again, but everyone always has access to outdoors when necessary. Occasionally, we will venture down the road for walkies when I need my exercise, I can only take a couple at a time. Feeding times are between 6-7 pm depending on time of year and we do our best to manage that so there aren’t any issues with stealing food, etc. In the evenings we relax and watch tv with everyone around us or on top of us (whippets are Olympic level cuddlers). No soft surface is off limits and everyone can find a comfortable place to relax. Before I accept a client, I will need to meet you and your pet at our home to make sure it is a good fit with our pack of three whippets. They are very friendly and we have not had any issues with other guests.

About: I’ve had a pack my whole life. We are currently only home to one pup and we thought we might do some Doggie day care to fill the hole left in our hearts when our Zoey and Nora crossed the rainbow bridge. We recently returned to our home in Occidental after 18 months in Vermont. Since I’m in between jobs, and we have all this space, I though we would do a little doggie day care. I have a fenced acre yard and multiple kennels for pups who like the security of a crate. We also do some crate training and basic command training.
