About: I’ve been caring for pets for over 15 years and truly enjoy spending time with animals. I understand how important it is to have someone you can trust with your pet while you’re away. I’ll make sure your pet gets plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, and affection while following their normal routine as closely as possible. I’m dependable, attentive, and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. I work a consistent schedule, but I’m available for pet care before or after work and have more flexibility on my days off. I’m happy to work with your pet’s normal routine, whether that includes walks, feeding, playtime, litter box care, or simply keeping them company. I’ll always communicate clearly about my availability. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will carefully follow all feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions you provide. I’ll respect your home and your pet’s routine, keep doors and gates secure, and provide regular photos and updates so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Jennifer was so great we our pups and took such a great care of our home while we were enjoying our vacation. Will definitely book her again next time we are out of town, and will recommend to family and friends.”

“Ashleigh comes over twice a week to walk my pups and so when I went out of town, I knew exactly who to contact to watch them! She was reliable as per usual, sent great pictures, and my dogs love her. I would highly recommend Ashleigh for any of your pet needs!”

I also provide updates and photos so owners know their pets are doing well.
“Thanks Ysla for the care of Oreo. Sending pics and updates were most appreciated Oreo’s care as an old dog was important to us. I know 12 days staying at our house was a long time to be away from your kitties 😊😊”

“took great care of the house and dogs while we were gone! she even accommodated a last-minute extension and having to administer medication to our senior dog who got sick right before we left.”

“Andres is hands down the best dog sitter we have ever had. Not only did he quickly win over us but our dog’s absolutely love him as well. Andres was extremely communicative- sent us pictures, videos and updates throughout the day. He followed all our requests and went above and beyond in the care he gave our dogs. Our dogs were walked multiple times a day and were even taken to the dog park- which they loved. Andres also took care of our home like it was his own- he even washed our dog covers and mopped our floors (our dogs are still being pee pad trained.) For the first time in three years we felt a 💯 comfortable being away from home, because we knew Andres was there taking care of our dogs. Highly recommend Andres for your dog sitting and/or dog walking needs.”

About: I have worked with dogs and cats for over 8 years! I love getting to know new pets, and taking it at their pace until they're comfortable with me. I have extensive experience in canine enrichment, and helping with basic manners (sitting at doorway, leash control, "focus".) I also am Pet First Aid certified! I can't wait to meet your fur-end! I'm currently working full time at a dog daycare/lodging facility. I can normally be free after 7pm any day of the week, and sporadic days off normally during the week. I am very passionate, gentle, and patient! I'm more than glad to accommodate your pet in any way necessary to ensure their happiness and comfort.
“We were in town for work and really wanted to bring our 16 weeknold Cavapoo with us as we just adopted him. We reached out to Ashley before arriving in San Antonio to ensure she had availability. We read reviews of various sitters and decided on Ashley. Upon I still contact right up to picking up our fur son, we felt comfortable. She was very accommodating and had a wonderful vide from initial contact up to when we picked up our puppy. We definitely will use her again if we are in town again. If she lived by us, we would hire her a a lot!”

About: I can't remember a time I didn't have a pet, since childhood. My childhood dog's name was Wallstreet and our cat was Clara. My dog Leia is my first dog as an independent adult. I've had her for 10 years. I started a cleaning business since 2019 and my clientele grew from word of mouth from people I would house sit and pet sit for since 2016. During that time I also cared for a woman with dementia for two years, checking on her twice a day, cleaning, going on outings, and giving meds. I still have my cleaning business and am looking for a new side hustle to supplement my income. I love animals and people and have a lot of free time, so this just made sense! I hope I can help spoil and love on your pets while you can't. I have a completely open and flexible schedule. The only things I do on a regular basis are some zoom calls at 7 pm early in the week and a couple outings/errands a week for an hour or two. In my home, dogs would be walked around the beautiful hills and scenery in my neighborhood. I don't have a fenced in yard. Cats and dogs would have full reign of the apartment. Animals are allowed on furniture. Actually, I am lucky they share the couch with me.
About: I love animals most of all I love dogs and I have experience with caring for Frenchies corgis poodles, mini poodles, Chihuahuas Pomeranian, and many other types of breeds it’s important for me to keep up with their meals. Thank you.❤️ I currently am a part of the morning/mid crew at work and I have the rest of my day to fit during my day to watch and care for your fur baby The way that I care for every fur baby is giving them my upmost attention and love I make sure to make their feeding an important moment of their day and having that care as well to keep up with their potty breaks and sharing a beautiful memory either as a walk or cuddles, I make sure to make them feel the most comfortable and happiest during their stay
About: I’ve been the go-to dog sitter for friends, family, and neighbors for over 5 years! From energetic pups to chill senior dogs, I’ve done it all—walks, cuddles, belly rubs, and even the occasional treat negotiation. I treat every pet like my own and love making tails wag while their humans are away! I currently work in the medical center for UT Health. I am usually at home when i’m not working, so it gives me more flexibility to make stops when needed. at home, I typically let the other dogs be around my golden doodle. If I am going to a client’s home, I just take care of them the way the owner would like me to because no one knows their dog better than them.
About: It is my favorite to train the dog here, so that the dog can not only have a good body, but I can also exercise with the dog myself and relax. I go out for a run with my dog every day, which not only works my body but also builds a trusting relationship between us. This way I can take better care of the dog and life. It is a must to go for a walk every day and take the dog to the park to play. Grooming, regular feeding, oral cleaning, nasal cleaning, ear canal cleaning, etc.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred D'Hanis walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in D'Hanis maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
<b>Tip:</b> Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in D'Hanis choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
