“First, Joana was very punctual and available to conduct a meet and greet for Envy, which is a must for me! She was happy to take Envy on her usual walk! She also gave her one of her beloved dental chew treats (:”

“Julia went above and beyond taking care of Skipper. We are completely satisifed with the drop in visits and walks through the week. Julia provided excellent updates and prompt communication. We would absolutely contract her services again and we recommend using Julia!”

“Justin has been walking our GSD for quite some time now. We would recommend him to anyone! He has been so good to ghost and has really helped him come out of his shell. Ghost has always looked forward to their walks and even gets annoyed with us when he realizes his walk with justin isn’t happening that day when we have had to reschedule lol. Ghost will definitely miss him when we move & we can’t thank him enough for treating him with such care and understanding as ghost was growing up. Thank you for working with our sour patch boy!”

“Leading up to my wedding, I was feeling nervous about all of our family being with us and how our dog would be taken care of. Saskia not only helped to completely remove those nerves, but truly treated our dog like her own. Our dog struggles with anxiety and can take a little to warm up to new people, but wagged her tail and got excited this morning smelling Saskia’s hat!! I knew from Saskia’s amazing communication and update pictures that our dog was in excellent hands, but that sealed the deal for me. My husband and I were not worried at all and able to be fully present at our wedding knowing our baby was so well taken care of.”

“I have a rescue pittie named Peter thats only been with me for about 4 months, and he currently needs a lot of extra care, attention, patience, and love. Nicole has been so kind and willing to accommodate his needs, and Peter loves her! He looks so happy in all the update pictures she sends— I’m grateful to have found somebody that both me and my dog feel comfy with.”

“Gabby is AH-MAZING! I am a helicopter dog mom and I don't trust just anyone with Nails. We are so happy to have Gabby to take care of him while we are gone. She really cares about animals amd is very much attention to detail. Our dog is quite the jerk but he loves Gabby and that makes my heart happy.”

I'm a stay at home dog Mom. We both have lots of energy for walks and hikes. I live on a 1 mile dirt, seasonal, dead end road with lake frontage and massive yard for playing hide and seek in the trees and hunting squirrels. My dog is dog friendly, loves playmates. (No jealousy). In your home care would be provided to your pets as we would discuss with a meet & greet.
About: Hi, nice to meet you! Please call me Eliza. Firstly, thank you for considering me to take care of your fur-babies while you're away. Here's a little bit about me and my history with pet care. When I was little, I always knew I wanted to work with animals in some capacity. My journey with pet care began when I was 12 years old. One of my neighbors had a black lab puppy that they never let inside & never had company. One day, I walked up to their door, knocked & asked them to hire me to walk their dog everyday. I never looked back. Since then, friends, family, neighbors & strangers alike have entrusted me with all of their pet's needs. When considering booking with me, please keep in mind that I also work 35 hours a week, giving me plenty of time to pay attention to your pets. I do not have breed restrictions & am happy to work with any special needs or requirements your pet may have. FOR ALL NEW CLIENTS, I do require a meet & greet before booking to ensure that everyone (including your pet) is comfortable and to be able to ask/answer any questions we may have for each other. I've found this helps to ensure trust between all of us. Please be upfront with any triggers or quirks so I know exactly how to take care of your pet. *The meet & greet is a FREE service to ensure we're all a good fit for each other before the stay. For the time being, I do not offer boarding in my home. During my stay with your pets, I provide the utmost care & attention to your pet & their needs. My main priorities are making sure your pet is as safe & as comfortable as possible in an already anxious situation with their parents being away. Thank you so much for considering me to take care of your fur-babies while you're away.

About: With three years of experience as a veterinary assistant, I have developed strong skills in pet care, handling, and health monitoring. I am comfortable administering medications, recognizing signs of illness, and ensuring pets feel safe and comfortable. My background in a clinical setting means I understand the importance of proper nutrition, exercise, and individualized care for each pet. Whether it’s feeding, walking, or providing companionship, I prioritize their well-being and treat every pet as if they were my own. I can adjust my availability to meet your pet’s needs, whether it’s daily visits, extended stays, or last-minute requests. My open schedule ensures that your pets receive consistent care and attention whenever you need it. I care for pets in my client’s home by following their routine to ensure comfort and consistency. About: Hello pet owners! My name is Kylie, and I am a lover of all animals. I currently have 2 cats that are 7 years old, a Black Lab pup that is 6, a Hound dog that is 4 and our most recent rescue is a Pitbull pup that is 10 months old. I have also raised 2 other rescues that I had the joy of having from the time they were pups though their senior years. I have 20+ years of experience in animal care and would love to take care of your family members. I am currently a full time teacher looking to work with part time with your pet. I am currently able to do pet care in your home. At this time I am not able to take care of pets in our home. We are still working with the new rescue dog and getting him adapted to our home.

About: I have worked in the animal care industry since I was 14 years old. I grew up with my mother whom bred and showed various different breeds of dogs as well as we kept a small mixed livestock farm. I have worked as an equine manager, I have worked at TSC, and currently am employed at a veterinary clinic where I was originally working with boarders. My skills include basic training, basic grooming, administering preventatives and medication (including insulin), providing effective and safe restraint, and I have taken multiple educational courses on animal welfare, behavior, and stress-free approach to handling. I work full time, but only mid day so I am more than capable of doing morning and afternoon visits as well as mid day on the weekends. I take care of animals the same way I would want to be cared for: with patience, kindness and love but above all safely. Working at a veterinary clinic I have learned a great amount about safe animal care (including with reactive animals).
About: I've been a devoted dog owner for 4 years and grew up in a home where dogs were family. From caring for high energy 8-week-old puppies to providing the gentle, patient attention required by seniors, I have experience with every stage of a dog's life. Having lived with small, medium, and giant breeds, I'm comfortable managing all personalities and sizes in my fully fenced yard. I'm currently working full-time, but I'm able to accommodate full round-the-clock care Friday afternoons through Sunday. I can certainly accommodate drop off earlier on Friday as well, but there'll be a greater period of absence ptior to my return from work. My home is designed for safety and fun! Your dog will have 24/7 access to a fully fenced, secure backyard for play time and potty brakes. Inside, I maintain a calm, pet friendly environment where guest dogs are treated like family, meaning plenty of couch, snuggles and quiet areas for naps. I follow your specific feeding and medication schedule strictly to ensure your pups routine stays consistent while you're away.
About: Hiii I am stay at home dog mom. I have base access. I accept last minute request as long as I’m available of course. I wanted to venture out and take care of other dogs. I have taken care of both of my dogs since they were 6 weeks old. I have had to administer their own medication especially the very high energy lab. I have taken care of my workers and neighbors dogs before and thought why not venture out to other dogs owners who need help with their super pups :) I have a very flexible schedule. I am available pretty much all the time. I have a reading hobby but that would never hinder my schedule! My dogs are walked every day. They are pretty independent and are not high maintenance. I live in an apartment so they get walks outside and play time in the dog park near the apartment
“I’ve got a senior dog with some extra needs and Claire was super accommodating. The weather wasn’t great so she played with the pups inside since they didn’t get a long walk. Definitely recommend!”

About: What sets me apart from other sitters is the attentive energy I set with both puppies and senior pets! I love going for long walks and making sure every pet feels spoiled with toys and treats. As a pet owner I understand that pet care is a huge responsibility, with proper planning and communication I will insure that it will fit perfectly into my routine. I work part-time but I am flexible with scheduling as long as it is in advance. I understand how each pets personality varies, whether it's cuddling on the couch or playing with their favorite toys, I love spending quality time with them and making sure they're happy and healthy. When it comes to safety and trust, I take it very seriously. In my home, I make sure the environment is pet-friendly and safe as I have a cat of my own. I understand that prioritizing pets health is crucial, I will take them on walks to make sure they get plenty of exercise. In my client's home, I follow their guidelines and routines to ensure their pets feel comfortable and secure. Whether you want a solo or group walk depends on your dog's personality. Solo walks can be beneficial for dog parents with reactive dogs, puppies, or dogs who are anxious around unfamiliar animals. Many dog walkers on Rover offer private, one-on-one walking services.
Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Dexter. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.
For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Dexter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
