“Lutisa was very helpful in that I needed a sitter ASAP, and she agreed to take my Myra. I was so appreciative that I didn't have to leave her alone for many hours. She took very good care of her.”

“Tulasi did wonderful with Paco we've never left her with anybody but family and she just loved her and was excited to go back the next day and I've already setting up to book three more overnight visits within the next few months so I would highly recommend her”

“Jessica was incredible. We had a very last minute need and she was responsive, confident and we felt from the beginning that there wasn't a situation that she couldn't handle when it came to our dog. He can be a little anxiously attached and she didn't bat an eye. She was a godsend when we needed one!”

“Rachelle and Christopher are so great with my girls. I can tell how much they love my dogs by how excited my dogs get when we arrive each week. Thank you for loving them like family!”

“Woody and Shamira are great with our puppy Mello! We’ve boarded her for a weekend and returned for daycare. We know she’s in good hands and will continue to return :)”

“Morgan and her family were absolutely AMAZING to my sweet pup! You can really tell that she (along with her children) really just love to care for animals. I was very satisfied with everything, my pup had two days of “day care” when my work schedule was extremely busy & my pup was so excited to go back the next day and see her family. Thank you again Morgan!”

About: I can’t remember a time in my life that I didn’t have a dog (or two). Big dogs, little dogs and in between. Now that I am retired, I devote most of my time to caring for my two “baby girls”. Daisy & Bella are litter sisters although they don’t look a like. They are Teddy Bear/Schicons (1/2 Bichon Frise and 1/2 Shih Tzu). They are inseparable, looking out for each other or wrestling together, where there’s one there is the other. They do play well with others. My sister’s little girl is a Shih Tzu and she is an only child, we laugh and call her the Princess. I sit for her for a week or long weekends when my sister visits her daughter out of town. She also comes over for play dates. They all respect each other’s boundaries and the Princess has learned to play with “the Court Jesters”. My dogs and visitors are allowed on furniture and beds. My yard is not fenced, but I do have a radio frequency collar system that I can use or walk on leash per owner’s preference. I live a long way from the road so it is safe. We go on golf cart rides around the property in the afternoon, my girls look forward to it. I am retired, so unless I have a doctor appointment or go grocery shopping, I am home 100% of the time. I do go to church on Sunday morning. My girls have the run of our home but I can use a crate if owner desires. I will treat your fur baby like I do my own. They are my #1 priority, always. They have a feeding schedule twice daily with a few treats throughout the day. They get lots of love and snuggles to their satisfaction. I encourage them to play with toys inside interacting with each other and myself. They will get plenty of exercise indoors and outdoors. I refreshed their water several times daily.

“Mary is wonderful! She’s kind, responsible, and good-natured. Lilo had a blast with her and her kids, and we loved getting all the updates and cute photos during her stay. Lilo can't wait for her next visit- thanks again, Mary!”

“Super job. Cassie loved it there and I didn’t have to worry about my baby! They are an awesome family and great environment. Gave great care and attention to Cassie.”

“Sally Ann enjoyed daycare with Elizabeth and her doggies. We were sent many pictures throughout the day, and communication through text was great! We certainly hope Sally would be welcome to come again,”
“Loren took wonderful care of my Shih Tzu, Charlie. She did a great job of introducing her 2 big dogs to little 10lb Charlie. Loren communicated with messages and pictures throughout the day. Charlie was worn out and happy when I picked him up. I will definitely use Loren again when I need care for Charlie.”

About: I’ve personally had dogs my whole life! I have experience with caring for senior dogs as well as puppies. I have a special place in my heart for labs, but I love them all! I’ve yet to meet a dog I don’t like. I have experience is administering meds, crate training, and providing overall care to your pet 😀 As a dog owner myself, caring for pets is part of my everyday life. I love spending time with animals and making sure they feel safe, happy, and comfortable. For boarding, I offer Thursday evening drop-offs, and pets must be picked up by Sunday. This helps me ensure each pet gets the best care possible during their stay In my home, pets are treated like family. I have two friendly dogs of my own, Sunny and Ruby, so I understand the importance of maintaining a safe, loving, and structured environment. I follow each pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, playtime, medication administration (if needed), and plenty of affection and attention. I also make sure pet parents receive regular updates and photos so they can feel confident their furry family member is happy and well cared for

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Danbury commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
