About: I have adored animals for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I've had the privilege of caring for dogs of all sizes, cats, birds, and fish! I'm committed to providing the same level of love and care for others that I provide for my own pet, a wonderfully wiggly cocker spaniel. I received two degrees from the University of Nebraska; a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife, and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. Two of my favorite activities include spending time outside, and giving lots of love to animals. I am currently working to build a strong client base and have lots of time to play, walk, or keep your pet company. Have any questions? Ask away! I can accommodate your preferences- whether that's providing company, playing, exercising, or doing some scent work exercises to work your pooch's brain! The safety of your pet is my number one priority. On walks, I practice situational awareness and always keep an eye out for off-leash dogs or other potential hazards.
About: I grew up on a farm, so I've worked with many different kinds of animals. I also used to help out on my great grandpa's farm before my family had our own. Animals are my life, and I can't see my life without them in it! I grew up in Minnesota, and I've never had a memory where we didn't have a dog. After moving to Ames, I've had the experience of not having my own dog and it was definitely weird to me. So, after my friend started working at Ames Pet Resort and told me how much she liked it, I decided to work there too! I've met sooo many dogs since I started, and I've been enjoying it very much. If you asked me to, I could name so many dogs that I adore. And show you pictures! I see dogs as part of the family, and many of them have touched my heart. I love them as if they were my own. I hope your family member(s) will touch my heart the same way. While I was living in Minnesota, I worked for my friend's parents. They taught me so much, and that was where my journey of working more with dogs had started. I was still working with the animals at home as well. I worked at Ames Pet Resort for little over a year, and I learned much since day one. I can give meds if need be, and I can walk various sizes of dogs. I can give the right dosages of medicine, syringes, and pills. I've also dealt with many man aggressive dogs, dog aggressive dogs, boundary aggressive tendency dogs, food aggressive, and same sex aggressive dogs, ect. For my job, I've also had training for doggy daycare so if you need any training tips, let me know! Additionally, I worked at Bark Avenue as a manager for about 7 months. In those 7 months, I was unable to do rover because my schedule didn't allow me to. Now that I work part time at an assisted living facility, it enables me to have more time to spend with your sweet companions! ❤️ Now that I no longer work for Ames Pet Resort, my schedule is pretty open. However, I may also have bookings outside of the Rover app. I will do my best to update my availability based on that. If you need your pup walked/fed in the morning, I can do that before work! 🙂 One thing I would like for people to know is that I require meet and greets before I agree to watch your pet. If you'd like to schedule one to see if it's a good fit, please let me know! My availability is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays. I have every other weekend off, so if you need me during the weekend, just let me know and I can try to figure something out! If you require more than a few days for me to stay in your home, please try to let me know between 1-2 weeks in advance. I would like to try to work it out with my roommate since I have a pup of my own. While I watch your pet, I will update you multiple times a day with pictures and videos! And if you would like more updates, feel free to let me know. I understand how leaving your animals behind can be stressful, and wanting to check on them often is understandable. If I have any questions regarding your pet, I will ask right away. I do my best to keep the line of communication open with my clients for the wellbeing of their animal(s). If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
About: We've owned a wide variety of dogs since I was little. Taking care of them and helping care for others pets has always been a passion of mine. We recently had a litter of eleven puppies. From newborn to elderly I've helped train, care for, and love them all. I currently work full time but have evenings, Fridays, and weekends off. I enjoy taking evening walks and would love to make some new fur friends while doing so. I treat anyone's pet as if they are my own. I respect any boundaries or special training requests others might have for their fur babies.
About: Lifelong animal experience – I’ve cared for animals my entire life, not just as a job but as a way of life. • Real dog-owner perspective – With 2 dogs of my own, I understand routines, energy levels, training reinforcement, and emotional needs. • Calm, patient care – Great for shy, anxious, senior, or high-energy dogs who need consistency and understanding. • Individualized attention – I don’t do “one-size-fits-all” care. Walks, play, feeding, and downtime are tailored to your dog. • Trust & reliability – I show up on time, follow instructions closely, and communicate clearly so you can relax while you’re away. • Home-style love – Your dog is treated like family, not a booking. Hi! I’m Shelbie, a lifelong animal lover with experience caring for dogs and cats of all personalities. I live in a peaceful rural area with plenty of space for play, walks, and safe adventures. Your furry friend will get the love, attention, and care they deserve while you’re away! Dog Boarding (In My Home – Female Dogs Only) For the safety and comfort of all pets in my care, I only board female dogs. My Australian Shepherd has a strong personality, and keeping our home harmonious means I cannot accept male dogs. Female pups are always welcome, and they’ll receive lots of love, playtime, and cuddles in a safe, home environment. I work full-time from 8–5, but I’m happy to stop by during my lunch break for local drop-ins to take your sweet guy or girl out for a potty break, walk, or some love. I’m available after 5 PM, all day on Wednesdays, and all weekends. I’m reliable, flexible, and always happy to work with your pet’s routine whenever possible. I care for pets with patience, consistency, and lots of love—whether in my home or yours. While I don’t have a yard yet, I live close to a dog park and provide plenty of walks, playtime, and mental stimulation to keep dogs happy and exercised. I follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, walks, play, and downtime. Safety and comfort always come first, and I make sure pets get individual attention, affection, and enrichment. In your home, I respect your space while ensuring your pet feels secure and relaxed in their familiar environment. I’m attentive, reliable, and treat every pet as if they were my own.
