“This was our initial time using Rover. We are very particular with our fur babies. Kristina was very welcoming and assuring. We had a meet and greet with just her and then with our girls. I left having every confidence in her ability. We were gone for a week and she sent daily photos and updates. She treated our girls like her own. We will definitively be using her services again, and I highly recommend her. Thank you so much!”

“As always, Matthew goes above and beyond what is asked of him. His interaction with our kitty is excellent, even when jasper wakes him up at 3 AM. Matthew is attentive to jasper and our home, which is much appreciated. He's terrific!”

“Jenna was an amazing dog sitter. After our dog sitter cancelled last minute we were rushing to find someone. We are so happy we found Jenna. She provided us daily updates and pictures of our pup. She was also responsive and gave us comfort knowing our dog was well taken care of when we were away. She even collected our packages, mail and left our house exactly the way we left it. We would 100% recommend Jenna and hope she will be back soon to take good care of our doggy.”

“Kellen exceeded our expectations. She did amazing with our big girls and Mal! She was very attentive to all of their needs. She had great communication and sent us pictures everyday! I would recommend her for all of your pet sitting needs.”

About: I’ve taken care of multiple animals since the age of 7. I’ve had 3 different dogs and dog breeds, and they were always loving and happy to be in my care. I currently have an 11 year old healthy yorkie who has had such a happy life filled with love, people think she’s a puppy still. I am naturally knowledgeable about important information when dealing with animals, and I’ve also been a temporary care taker for my grandma. Im currently an 18 year old who’s finished with highschool, aspiring to become a student in esthetician school so I have plenty of time for your adorable fur babies! I’m available from 6 am- 7 pm. I have a fenced backyard, an alarm system on my house, a quiet, clean home, and a calm, kind 11 year old female yorkshire terrier at home along with my mom and my 5 year old little brother.
“Karissa took very good care of our dogs while we were away. Our dogs are like our kids and Karissa went above and beyond to ensure they were comfortable and given proper care. Highly recommend her to take care of your loved ones.”

“Caleigh was absolutely wonderful with our three animals. One of them is older and requires extra care and medication, and she handled everything with so much patience and attention. She sent daily updates and pictures, which gave us real peace of mind while we were away. You can tell she genuinely cares and treats pets like her own. We would not hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a thoughtful, reliable sitter!”
“We had another amazing experience with Danielle! Her communication, timeliness, and service exceeded our expectations once again. We will continue to use her services in the future. Huge thanks to Danielle for taking care of our puppy and for making our lives less stressful. 😊”

About: I am a psychology major with a LOVE for taking care of animals. My first job was when I was only ten years old - watching my neighbors’ two dogs & 1 cat 🐾 I have experience working in pet stores as well! Animals have always been a huge part of my life and working with them has brought me so much joy throughout the years. I am a cat mom to my own furry baby, Pongo as well. Pet care fits into my daily routine because I have my own furry baby! I have a siamese cat, Pongo, who I’m always making sure is attended to. Whether that’s refilling his bowl, cleaning the litterbox, or throwing his favorite blanket in the dryer so he can have a warm blanket to kneed on, I am always on my toes making sure Pongo is loved. I care for my client’s pets by first, having a consultation with the owners to get to know their needs. Whether there’s a dietary restriction, or something I need to take the extra step in making the pet or owner comfortable, I make sure to check all my boxes.
About: Hi!! I’m Kimberly 😊 A little about me: I’m a mom of three boys 💙 (a newborn, a 2-year-old, and a 7-year-old), so life is definitely full in the best way. Animals have always been a big part of my life, and that’s something my kids have naturally picked up too. They absolutely love animals and have learned to be gentle, kind, and respectful from a young age. I’ve been caring for animals for over 15 years now, both personally and for others, and it’s something I truly enjoy. I grew up in a home full of pets. At one point we had 26 birds, 24 guinea pigs, 2 cats, and 3 dogs, so being around animals has always just felt natural to me. My faith is a big part of who I am and how I treat others. It guides me to be patient, attentive, and genuinely caring, not just with people but with every pet I’m trusted with. I understand how much they mean to you, and I take that responsibility seriously. We live in Mocksville, NC, and I’m in the Clemmons and Winston area often, so I’m very flexible depending on your location and needs. My husband is a U.S. Navy veteran, so we have a deep appreciation for those who serve and a special place in our hearts for military families. At the end of the day, I want you to feel completely comfortable knowing your pet is being cared for with attention, patience, and genuine love while you’re away. I’m currently a stay at home mom, which gives me a lot of flexibility throughout the day. On weekdays, I do school drop off between 7:45am and 9:30am and need to be home again by 3pm for pick up. Outside of those times, I’m generally very open and able to accommodate visits and walks. If a drop-in or walk falls within those school hours, my kids may come along with me. They absolutely love animals and are always gentle, respectful, and happy to give your fur baby a little extra love and attention 😊 ⸻ Note: I’ve adjusted my 30 minute drop in and walking rate because I often find myself staying a little longer to make sure your pet truly gets the attention and care they need. In my opinion, 30 minutes can feel rushed, especially for pets who have been alone for a while. I never want your pet to feel hurried, so I do my best to include extra time whenever possible so they feel comfortable, cared for, and loved on. My rate is flexible depending on your pet’s needs, so please feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m always happy to chat! I am very respectful of my home as well as others. I like to keep things clean and take pride in maintaining a well-kept space. I’m not one to pry, and I’m very self-aware, always making sure I’m being respectful of your home. I will treat your home the same way I would want my own to be treated. I’m great with following directions and instructions, and when it comes to your pets, I take my time to make sure their needs are fully met. You can definitely expect a bunch of updates and pictures while your furry or feathered babies are in my care.
About: I have many years of experience taking care of my dogs since I was a kid, and I have been involved independently owning a rabbit in college! I am a committed owner and have had experience in walking, feeding, and bathing my dogs! I am going to graduate school in September, so I have the summer off and am able to take care of your pet during the mornings and afternoons! I have plenty of free time! I would try to create a safe environment that allows your pet to be themselves! I would also try and ask questions upfront to see what kind of signs I should look for that they need to go outside or are upset! I will make sure to be very attentive with your pet!

“Ruah was very communicative and reliable during her stay with our kitties. She left the place immaculate and we came home to two happy, healthy fur babies. Would work with Ruah again!”

About: When I was 10, I kept my tamagotchi Dalmatian alive for 2 months. If for some reason that doesn't impress you...buckle up and read on. Most of the sitter profiles on Rover claim their "Pet Care Experience" and "love for animals" began in childhood. They will use every animal interaction they've had in the past 25 years as “Pet Care Experience.” Um...no. Let's break this down. 1. You feeding Cheetos to the family of feral cats living in that field next to your Elementary School. Might have earned you a scouting badge. However, it doesn't count towards your "experience." 2. Loving animals as a kid is not something unique. Nor does it equate having "experience." Is anyone here shocked by the news that a child loves animals?? No, of course not. Ever asked a child what their favorite animal is? Only to have the answer be, "None. I hate all animals. Animals are the worst." Nope you haven't. (If you have, that child is most likely going to be a serial killer or work at a slaughter house. Proceed with caution.) Alright.. moving right along... here's a little about me: From birth to now I've had a wide range of animals. The list is long but it ends at most birds. I don’t do most birds. Well Ducks? yes. Sparrows, parrots, albatross? No, no thanks. I did have peacocks growing up and my dad owned an Ostrich farm for several years.. which is super weird. Let's move on...Don’t really do cats in my home either. For multiple reasons. Bird & cat pets aside. Im pro-pet. Hip hip!! Sidebar*** (we have a bearded dragon and a Greek Tortoise. If you have a reptile or small animal that need to be boarded or dropped in on. we would be happy to help you with that.) Like any normal pet owner, I enjoy keeping my animals alive and healthy. Not once have I tried to starve my animals or neglect them in such a way that would render them a spot on the sad commercial with the “Arms of the Angel” song playing in the background. Those owners are the worst. Lucky for you...I am not the worst! Sarcasm aside…I’ll treat your pets like I would want someone to treat my pets. I’ll accommodate their/your needs and give you peace of mind as you vacation or do time in prison. (No judgements) If your animal has medical issues, a drug or alcohol addiction, gang affiliation, is running from the law or needs special care. I got it. If I don’t got it… I’ll Google it. Chat GPT is amazing! Duh! Unless your Pekinese needs a kidney transplant or your doodle wants a face lift. I should be able to keep them happy! I walk my dogs every day, if your pet wants to join us, great. If not, great. Sleep on the bed or sleep on the floor? Again don’t care. Im good with both. Last and certainly not least… There is 1 thing I will not do. I refuse to call your dog a fur baby or any other lame name like that. Why? Because it's weird and stupid. I cringe & immediately check out of a conversation when someone starts talking about “furbabies.” I just can’t. Plus your pet doesn’t like it either. They just put up with it because you feed them. I’m a stay at home mom. While my kid is at school and I do normal homemaker things. We have some after school activities & events but for the most part we will be around. These questions….I’ll make sure to put away all of my broken glass pieces and lock the door to the room where I keep all the poisons and explosives… whatever. My house is safe, I have a yard, real safe. If you have special requests just tell me and I’ll do what you ask me to do…unless it’s weird or gross.
About: I grew up taking care of all different breeds of dogs, and there’s nothing else I’d rather do! I started out caring for my own, then I started caring for my family’s and friend’s pets too. My experience ranges from caring for puppies and senior dogs. I had a 14 year old lab that I had to provide senior care on, from feeding by hand, cleaning her up, and administering medicine. I am working full time at the moment but am more than excited to spend my days off with your fur babies! As of right now I am available most weekends, and nights. I care for my dogs by letting them run around during the day, I have a huge yard with plenty of space. At night my dogs like to sleep in their crate.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs my whole life since I was 10 years old I have 3 myself. I volunteer at a dog shelter I got 1 of mine from. I always have time for pet care but I currently work part time since I am a college student. So my hours are pretty flexible. I can easily do for your dogs what I do for mine whether it’s crating them, walking them, making sure they feel safe and having fun or even just petting them while they fall asleep.
About: I have always had a fondness for animals, I believe they show us the best parts of love! I have taken care of many animals including cats, dogs, and goats for many friends and family. I love spending time with the little babies who need a bit of extra attention, time, and patience! I am currently employed full time within walking distance from my apartment. I go on walks in the morning and evening, and would love more companions! I have a knack for reading how people/animals are doing in new situations, so I do my best to provide a gentle, patient, and loving home away from home!
About: I have taken care of dogs/animals since i was little. I have many exotic animals and 5 pups of my own that I absolutely adore! I am a stay at home pet mom. And have loves of enriching fun!
“Lauren did a phenomenal job with our fur babies. From the time she replied to our request she took the time to listen and understand our challenges. Then she came over and took the time to familiarize herself with both of our babies ensuring there wouldn’t be any issues. Great job and great person.”

FAQs for House Sitting - Courtney
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 711 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Courtney. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Courtney walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Courtney maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Courtney choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Courtney. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
