About: I have taken care of my friends pets for a few years now, either going over to their house to check on them, let them out and play with them or even taking them on walks. I currently have 3 dogs at home, and I have been taking care of them since they were puppies as well as the dogs I have had previously as well. I know how to handle small dogs and medium/large dogs, whether it comes to walks or just checking in to play with them, or let them out for the bathroom. I am currently working a part-time job, so I have all the time during the day to walk dogs and care for them. I am free anytime after 9 am. I currently have three dogs of my own at home. I play with them a lot inside the house when it gets too hot, and every few hours I let them out for the bathroom and play and tire them out, when outside, depending on how hot it is. I walk around outside with them to get some walking in up and down our driveway.

About: What truly sets me apart is my professional background. As a special education teacher with seven years of experience in the classroom, patience, structure, and the ability to adapt to individual needs are woven into everything I do. I bring that exact same mindset to pet care. I understand that every animal learns and communicates differently, and I excel at reading body language and adjusting my approach to make sure every pet feels safe, understood, and comfortable. Alongside having pets my entire life, I have spent the last 8 years providing dedicated pet care for family members and neighbors. Because of my teaching background, I am highly reliable when it comes to maintaining strict daily routines. This makes me particularly well-equipped to handle the unique needs of different life stages: Senior Care: I am incredibly patient and comfortable maintaining the slow, gentle pacing and strict medication or dietary schedules that senior pets often require to thrive in their golden years. Puppy Care & Training: I thrive on consistency and positive reinforcement. I am highly capable of maintaining the firm but gentle boundaries, frequent potty breaks, and structured play that young pets need while they are still learning their manners. Whether your pet needs quiet, gentle companionship or structured, engaging play, I have the experience, reliability, and heart to provide care that is perfectly tailored to them. I believe in complete transparency regarding my schedule so you know exactly when your pet is receiving my undivided attention: Summer Hours (Now – August): I am currently working a shorter schedule and am fully available for walks, drop-ins, and playtime every day after 1:30 PM. Fall Hours (Starting in September): I will be working my regular full-time schedule until 4:00 PM. However, my evenings will be completely open and dedicated to after-work walks, dinner routines, and evening companionship! I look forward to meeting your best friend and providing them with the highest level of care! I know firsthand that leaving your furry family members can be stressful. My goal is to provide a safe, engaging, and loving environment so you can have complete peace of mind while you are away. I treat every animal in my care with the exact same affection and attentiveness I give my own. My Experience I have been surrounded by pets my entire life, which has given me a deep, intuitive understanding of the daily care, patience, and affection animals require. For the past 8 years, I have been the trusted, go-to pet sitter for my neighbors and extended family. This hands-on experience has taught me how to adapt to different temperaments, respect established household rules, and quickly recognize when a pet might be feeling anxious. As a special education teacher, patience, compassion, and structure are at the core of who I am—and I bring those same qualities into how I care for your pets.

This means I can be present for your pet at any time of day, ensuring their needs are met without delay or scheduling conflicts My experience allows me to confidently handle various temperaments and requirements, whether your pet is a baby, an adult, or a senior pet. About: Hello, my name is Ashley. I am a Certified Veterinary Technician with 20 years of experience in general practice, emergency & critical care, and radiation oncology. My career has been dedicated to providing attentive, high level care to animals, with a focus on safety, comfort, and individualized attention. As a military spouse for the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working in veterinary practices across the country, gaining extensive specialty experience and caring for pets with a wide range of medical and emotional needs. These experiences shaped my calm, adaptable approach and deep understanding that every pet deserves thoughtful, personalized care. I am certified in both Basic Life Support (BLS CPR) and Advanced Life Support (ALS CPR), and I’m especially comfortable caring for senior pets, anxious pets, post procedure/operative patients, and medically complex animals who benefit from experienced handling and close observation. My goal is to provide a seamless, stress free experience for both pets and their owners. Whether your pet prefers quiet companionship, structured routines, or extra reassurance while you’re away, they will be cared for with professionalism, patience, and genuine affection. I understand the level of trust it takes to place your pet in someone else’s care, and I strive to offer the same level of attentiveness and reliability I would want for my own animals. After spending 20 years in veterinary specialty hospitals, I’ve decided to step away from clinical medicine and focus on what I love most, providing compassionate, personalized care for pets in my community. My background allows me to comfortably care for pets with specialized medical needs, seniors, anxiety, medications, and post-procedure care. While safety and medical knowledge are a huge part of my experience, my goal now is simple: to give pets the love, comfort, cuddles, patience, and pampering they deserve. As someone who understands that unexpected work trips, emergencies, long days, and last minute plans happen, I purposely keep my schedule as open and flexible as possible to help support pet owners when they need it most. At this time, I provide care exclusively in your pet’s home environment rather than offering in home boarding or daycare services. I currently have pets of my own at home, and I believe this allows me to give your pet the safest, calmest, and most individualized experience possible in the comfort of their familiar surroundings. Providing care in your home also helps minimize stress, maintain routines, and allows me to focus on personalized attention, specialized care, cuddles, companionship, and pampering tailored to your pet’s unique needs.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
