“We were heartbroken when our normal sitter we found on here moved away! We tried a few others on here and none loved them like Jessica did… until now! I felt completely at ease as soon as we walked in and Lucy made herself right at home. Alexa has kept me updated the whole time and loved her like she was her own. She has become our new favorite dog person!”

“Jennifer and her family did a wonderful job taking care of Maggie. She appeared to fit right in! Very convenient to the Kingsport area, rates are fair, and they are exceptionally friendly.”

“This is our second time leaving Kiddo with Mikayla and Skyler. They took really good care of our little boy. We surely got back a happy and tired pup. I would totally recommend them.”

“David Tool great care of Nova and I am thankful he had time so spontaneously. He updated me with pictures every day and she was looking very happy! Will book with David again in the future! 😊”

“Ken was a fantastic parent to our Ava while we were visiting Bristol for a bit. He let us come on and get our dog acquainted with the surroundings and kept us up to date with pictures throughout the stay. He genuinely seems to care for the animals he watches and treats them as guests in his home. Highly recommend!”

“They are so great, they care for our boys like their own. They understand their different personalities and cater to them. We were running out of town and forgot a couple things but they were so accommodating. The boys always come back healthy and well care for. We are already booking our next trip out of town and will use them again :)”
“I’m always anxious leaving my dogs with someone new/ you never know what they’ll experience while away from home. Lori definitely set my mind at ease and was kind to our pets and treated them like her own. We will be using her again.”

“Linda and Wendy did a great job taking care of Licorice, who can be fussy. They administered oral medications twice a day, took him outside constantly (he's on a diuretic), and allowed him to sleep in one of their beds. They sent pictures and updates while I was away, and their two little dogs were great company for mine. :) Would definitely use again!”

About: My name is Annabell, and I'm a self-proclaimed animal lover with years of pet sitting experience. I grew up surrounded by pets of all shapes and sizes, and I've always had a soft spot for furry friends. I’m currently working part time at the animal shelter I specialize in caring for dogs and cats, but I'm also comfortable with small mammals, reptiles, and even the occasional exotic pet. I'm always up for a challenge, and I love learning about new animals and their unique needs. One of the things that sets me apart from other pet sitters is my ability to connect with animals on a deeper level. I pride myself on being able to read an animal's body language and understand their needs, even if they can't tell me in words. I'm also experienced in administering medication, so you can rest assured that your pet is in good hands. I know that pets are more than just animals - they're family members - and I treat them with the same love and care that I would want for my own pets. When I'm not pet sitting, you can usually find me exploring the great outdoors with my own furry friend. I'm an avid hiker and nature lover, and I believe that spending time in nature is just as important for pets as it is for humans. If you're looking for a fun-loving and experienced pet sitter who truly cares about your furry friend, look no further. I can't wait to meet you and your pet! I understand trust is a big factor in finding the right sitter. I always do meet and greets beforehand to make sure you and your pet are comfortable with me. In my time of being a pet owner myself and professionally sitting I have a developed a high understanding of the care, temperament and just fun activities for the the doggos and cats to enjoy! ( and of course all your farm, exotic and aquatic friends)
“Jacades was awesome! She accepted us last minute, she was great with duke and made our trip less stressful and more enjoyable and at peace with where Duke was at. Duke had a great time with them and I would 100000000% use her and her fiancé again! She sent me updates without asking, he looked very content with them. Thank you so much jacades for taking such great care of my boy!”

“Callie was great with my dog, and I felt very comfortable leaving her for the weekend. She sent me pictures and updates throughout Ari's stay. I will definitely use her again!”

Aaric was a scared little dog when we took him but he appeared to have a great time during the stay. We thought there was only going to be a cat when we originally booked but it worked out very well. He was able to interact with other dogs which was a positive for his development. Brionna did well and had more cleanup to do than she or we expected as Aaric had accidents several times. Over all very positive.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Colonial Heights home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Colonial Heights.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Colonial Heights sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
