About: While I am new to offering services on Rover, I bring over 23 years of experience managing and caring for multi-dog households. I’ve raised, trained, and cared for dogs through every life stage—from high-energy puppies to gentle seniors needing extra patience and mobility support. I know firsthand that dogs aren't just pets; they're full family members who thrive on consistent routines, clear boundaries, and genuine companionship. Key Strengths & Skills Multi-Dog Household Management: Skilled at reading canine body language, managing energy levels, and maintaining harmony among multiple dogs. Routine & Schedule Continuity: Accustomed to following strict feeding, exercise, medication, and sleep schedules to ensure your dog feels secure while you're away. Safety & Environment First: Experienced in dog-proofing homes and yards, handling leash walks securely, and keeping safety as the top priority during all interactions. I work from home, so my schedule is very flexible. I am usually up with my dogs fairly early in the morning. I am available most week days and weekends. I know how important it is for pets to stay in their comfortable, familiar routine—especially when their owners are away. When caring for your pets in your home, I prioritize security, routine, and personalized care.
“Jessica was a fantastic sitter. She took great care of my 8 month old kitten. She gave me updates with lots of pictures after every visit. And perhaps the best review came from my kitten who ran around the house looking for Jessica when I got home.”

“Mary and Derek have been reliable and consistent taking care of Bruno. He can be a finicky eater and tends to be a little diva some times, but he has been comfortable and well cared for. Thank You!”

“Amanda was amazing! She cared for our 2 dogs as if they were her own. She worked with us being first time users of the app. She went out of her way to ensure we as well as our dogs were comfortable and at ease! Thank you for the wonderful job you did for us!”

“Amanda is amazing! We feel fortunate she was able to help us watch our cat. We had to leave in a hurry and did not get to set everything up so Amanda had to sift through some of our things to help take care of our cat. Thank you again so much for all you did and we will definitely book her again.”

“Audrey did an amazing job watching over my cat, Binx. It is always hard to leave her behind, but it was truly such a relief to know my baby was being taken care of. I would use Audrey again for sure!”

About: I’ve owned dogs, cats, and horses my entire life. I’ve been dog sitting for others for 7 years. I’ve owned dogs with behavioral issues from resource guarding to fear reactivity towards other people and animals and medical needs like Degenerative Myelopathy, ACL tears, dental disease, and an enlarged heart requiring specialized attention and care. I am a lead volunteer trainer of new volunteer dog handlers at the Harrisburg Humane Society. When I’m not training new volunteers, I handle dogs of all ages, sizes, breeds, behavioral, and medical needs. I’ve taken dogs to off site events for exposure and I’m an adoption counselor helping pair families with the right dog for their home. I have worked with rescue and foster dogs. I will make sure that your dog’s needs are met and will meet them at their level while helping them grow. I will work on patience and consistency, and I will even work on commands with them. I have experience walking multiple dogs at once as well. Your dog’s needs will be met and they will be just as loved and happy until you get home to them! I am currently a high school English teacher and pursuing my Masters in Business Administration and Strategic Leadership while also running volunteer trainings at the Humane Society of Harrisburg weekly. I love working with people and animals while educating both and this allows me the flexibility to do what I love. From the end of August-middle of June I primarily have hours after 4 and through the evening during the week. While I am on breaks throughout the year and during summer, my availability is open during the mornings and daytime as well. I can be flexible on weekends depending on the time and day! I will meet every need you have for your dog or cat. I am reliable, patient, and consistent. I can work on things your pet is struggling with like impulse control, commands, leash walking, etc. I am comfortable crating and separating pets as needed. If your dog has reactivity with new people or other animals - I have an extra soft spot for them as my own pets have struggled with that. I will do slow introductions to make sure your pet is building a relationship with me that is safe and comfortable at their pace. Consistency, patience, and structure is key. I can provide a mix of walks and play time as well as enrichment if the weather is bad. I do not mind the weather changes or daylight changes as their needs come first. Even if your dog wants a quick walk and cuddle time, we will do what they need. I will also communicate with you each time by sending a detailed pet update or report card so you know how they are doing.

“Sophie was wonderful with my puppy! She kept great communication throughout the entire time, sent me the cutest photos every day, and took him on nice walks. He looked so happy and comfortable with her, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. She followed all of my instructions very well, and I would definitely trust her to take care of him again. Highly recommend!”

“Taylor did a wonderful job making sure our dog was well cared for while we were away. We were worried as this was our first time away from him and he was a rescue, but Taylor gave good updates and photos.”

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
