“Casey was amazing with our three large dogs. They can be very high energy and a lot to handle at times. One of our pups has separation anxiety away from home but he seemed to do soooo well with Casey. And she was so attentive to all their needs. She did a wonderful job with all three of them and their crazy personalities. She took them on lots of walks. We loved the picture updates. It made us so happy that our pups seemed so content on their vacation away from home. We will definitely rebook in the future! Thanks so much, Casey!!!”

“We use Brenda exclusively. She is the best! She sends photos and updates and we always know they are well cared for. Sissy runs in when we get there as if to let everyone know she has arrived. This confirms to me she loves staying with Brenda. I’m so glad we found her.”

“Wow! This experience couldn't have been better! First off, Amy is kind, professional, and clearly loves what she does! From the meet and greet to the first weekend stay, everything went perfectly. Mac immediately felt safe, happy, and at home - and I can tell he did because Amy sent plenty of photos and videos to give me that assurance. Mac fell in love with her too right away and made some dog friends! Mac and I found our new go-to! PS - if you live a little farther out, it's so worth the drive.”

“Our dog Willie had a blast with Caroline and Spencer! They gave me regular updates and pictures to let me know how he was doing. He has some health issues and they accommodated everything he needed. They communicated any questions they had and were always available for any questions I had. Willow, their dog was a perfect playmate for Willie while he was there. I would highly recommend!”

“Absolutely awesome! Jolene has been awesome to work with and she has been flexible with drop off and pick up times if anything unexpected comes up. She’s so kind and took great care of my pup! I really appreciate her!”

“Great communication about Lulu and how she was doing while away! Lulu was comfortable with Wendy from the moment she met her. Thank you for taking great care of her while we were away!”

“I cannot recommend her enough! She watched Otis for 2 nights and treated him like he was her own. From the moment I dropped him off, I felt completely at ease. She was so kind, communicative, and thoughtful throughout the entire stay. She sent me lots of updates and photos, which meant so much and made being away from my boy so much easier. You could genuinely tell how much love and attention he was getting the whole time. He came home happy, comfortable, and clearly very well cared for. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, attentive, and truly loving with animals, she is absolutely the person to book. I would 100% use her again!”

“Jessica did an excellent job caring for my dog Rupi. She took Rupi on long walks every day and sent pictures/updates regularly. I would highly recommend Jessica.”

“Falen and family were great with my dog! We received updates and pictures which made the experience more at ease! They also gave treats and cuddles which enhanced the experience for my pet as well. Thanks Falen! We’d recommend and request you in the future!”

“Our dogs loved being at John and Stephanie's home. They were so well cared for and the communication about how they were doing while we were away was terrific. Thank you so much.”

“Ruby was excited and enjoyed staying with Madison. She did not appear to be at all anxious when we dropped her off, or when we picked her up. Often Ruby is initially uncomfortable and worried during her first stay, but that was not the case. We will definitely schedule her stay with Madison in the future!”

“April was great! Our senior dog was well taken care of, and we felt comfortable while on our trip. We received updates and pics. Candace even got a to-go bag of treats when we picked her up. Will definitely rebook when needed again and would highly recommend. Thanks, April!”

95% of sitters in Clifford can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.

- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Clifford.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in VA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
