Mandy was happy to see Brian when he came out to greet us and loves Ashley and the children. Brian and Ashley are kind and gentle with our older girl and she is very happy staying with them. I so appreciate getting the daily pictures and updates on how Mandy is doing. I can't imagine leaving her with anyone else!

Our 2 dogs spent 10 days with Destiny, the longest they’ve ever been away from us, and Destiny was wonderful! She is welcoming & kind, loving & practical. Her home is perfect for dogs with plenty of indoor & outdoor space, hiking trails and a creek to splash in on hot summer days. Our dogs are pretty easy but very attached to us, and one of them needs daily meds. Destiny clearly made them comfortable with her immediately, and they looked incredibly happy in all of the photos she sent daily. The dogs were happy to see us when we arrived but also clearly happy, comfortable & well-loved in Destiny’s home. We’d love to leave them with Destiny again!

Our 3 dogs are: elderly & anxious; young & energetic; and a quintessential middle child with issues. We left them with Laura at the last minute for a trip we hadn’t been able to plan in advance, and we’d do it again in an instant! L When I dropped the dogs off, they were understandably nervous but within a few minutes were completely settled in Laura’s home & outdoor space! Throughout our trip, Laura sent photos and very sweet updates that showed how well she had gotten to know our dogs. She gave us positive news, but also let us trust that she would tell us if we needed to know anything concerning. In short, Laura is a pro and also a delightful caregiver for your treasured pets. I can’t recommend her highly enough!

Bee was absolutely wonderful! She seemed to have a magic touch with my goldens Daisy and Jude, who haven’t had much socialization with humans besides family. It was the first time they’ve ever been boarded, which was nerve wracking, but luckily she sent photos throughout their stay which put my mind at ease. They had a great time running around and playing in her big backyard, which is fenced. I would definitely recommend Bee and book with her again! ?

Charlene is definitely a five star dog sitter. She treated our dog as her own. She spoiled him with love and attention. She made us feel so comfortable at the meet and greet, that we had no qualms leaving him in her care. We received many photos and updates throughout the days our dog stayed with her. We would not hesitate to use her again. She’s the real deal! Sunny was well taken care of.

About: I have always had pets in my life. I was born into a house with cats and dogs and have had two dogs for as long as I can remember. I have taken care of the animals when my parents have been gone. We have had dogs old and young of all sizes and I love all animals big and small. I will love on animals and play with them, take care of them or just snuggle if they dont like to play. I will be with the animals as much as possible in between other jobs. I also have worked at petsmart in the pet hotel so I have a lot of knowledge and experience working with pets. I am currently working full time but I can let the dogs out before I go to work and then can go right after work as well. I go in at 8 am and get off at 330 pm I will take special care with each pet and be sure to follow the rules that are set by the pet parent. Because of working at petsmart I pay close attention to details and take special care of pets.

About: I've had dogs my entire life from puppies to rescues! I've also been a grooming salon manager in Ithaca for 9 years. I've cared for many different breeds, ages, temperaments, and quirks all dogs have and I love them all the same. I have two dogs of my own Luke and Yoda. Luke is a 6 year old lab mix around 35 lbs. He is very loving and playful. Yoda is a 5 year old miniature fox terrier mix who has unlimited energy and is the sweetest snuggler. I am home all day with my baby and two dogs of my own so I can give the same care to some extra dogs! I treat every dog as if they are my own. I have lots of extra blankets to make sure they have there own space (i do recommend to bring some of there stuff like blankets, beds, and toys to make them more comfortable) and have extra room to separate them if they need to be alone. I will always make sure they are comfortable, happy, loved, and safe!

About: Ever since I was 5 years old I was taught the responsibility and knowledge to handle dogs and animals of all varieties. I cared for parakeets, doves, fish, chinchilla, kids, many dogs both big and small, rescued and pure bred, and have had many canine friends over the years. I’ll treat your fur babies as lovingly as I treat mine! I don’t mind cleaning them, bathing, walking, feeding, exercising, or any other thing needed to their specifications. I will follow your instructions to the T. I have all the time to give them my full attention and love, and never less. I ensure you, that with me, you’re barking up the right tree! I am open any and all times, I’m looking for any jobs. I I’m not picky about my times and I’m more than happy to accommodate. I always do my very best to follow instructions as perfect as possible. I ask that you write me a note or send me a text telling me what you want me to do, so I can refer back to it.

Every sitter on Rover has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

100% of Cincinnatus sitters also include daily walks in the neighborhood during dog boarding stays. You can also request photo and message updates throughout the stay so you can see which Cincinnatus landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Cincinnatus home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
  • Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Cincinnatus.

Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.

You and your Cincinnatus sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in NY ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
