About: I have two dogs of my own. My older dog, Ive raised from puppy to dog and give oral meds to him daily. My younger dog, I took over caring for from my parents but he is the best addition to my home. I have cared for dogs in the past for my parents, friends and others dog owners when they go out of town. I am experienced with all dog types and would love to meet your pet! I love to get outside with my dogs after work, either playing fetch or eating bubbles! I would love to do the same with your pets. I have watched both peoples houses and pets while they have been on vacation so you don't need to worry about either when you are away from your pets. I can also take care of any house plants and other types of pets as well!
About: I’ve been surrounded by cats and dogs my entire life and have over the last 8 years been a pet parent myself! I currently have 6 cats and 1 sweet, cat-loving dog which has made me very familiar with different pet personalities, routines, and individual needs. My dog has also struggled with separation anxiety since he was first adopted and I worked patiently with him to help him feel more comfortable and secure. This assured me even more the importance of patience, consistency, understanding, and creating a calm, loving environment for animals who may need a little extra reassurance. Whether your pet is energetic, shy, anxious, playful, or just loves to cuddle, I’ll treat them with the same love, attention, and care I give my own. I know how important it is to trust someone with your furry family members, and my goal is to make sure both you and your pets feel safe, happy, and comfortable while you’re away! I currently am a stay at home mama, homeschooling my young kiddo so I have plenty of flexibility during the week and weekends to hang out and love on your pets. I strive to create a safe, loving, and comfortable environment where every pet feels right at home! In my home, there is a designated cat room that only my kitties and humans can access, giving my cats a peaceful space to relax and have their own privacy when needed. There are also plenty of cozy beds, blankets, and comfy spots for naps, cuddles, and snuggles! My home has a spacious, open-floor basement and main level, providing lots of room for indoor playtime, toys, and fun! I also live near several parks and in a walkable neighborhood where I enjoy taking my furry friends on walks, exploring, and getting fresh air! When caring for pets in your home, I do my best to maintain their normal routines so they feel safe, happy, and comfortable in their familiar surroundings. Whether that means feeding, walks, playtime, litter box care, cuddles, or simply keeping them company, I’ll make sure they receive plenty of love and attention.
“We needed a sitter for a drop in visit pretty last minute and Shannon was a God send! She agreed to a meet and greet the following day and we instantly knew she would be a great match. Our pup also was instantly drawn to her. She spent extra time with him after the scheduled 30 minutes, fed him, and even folded blankets on the couch haha. She brought in packages when we had deliveries and always made sure to lock up and leave a light on for our dog, as requested. Would definitely recommend her!!”

About: I was born and raised on a family farm. From the time I was born I have been riding in tractors and taking care of all sorts of animals. Growing up we always had dogs and cats in our home. I have always loved rescuing strays and rehabilitating injured animals of all shapes and sizes. I now have three fur babies of my very own and they are my life! If you entrust your pet with me I will not take it lightly as it is a deep honor and privilege. I love spoiling animals and giving them all the love. If I ever won the lottery I would adopt all of the oldest animals at the shelter and take them to my pet sanctuary. Please consider booking me so that I can continue to stay at home with my human baby as much as possible! 🐾 I am very part time right now since I stay home with my little one. I pick up evening shifts here and there but I am fairly free in the evenings once my husband gets home from work. Let me know what you need and we can work out a routine! I typically work with children and for that reason I understand the importance of trust, flexibility, and kindness. I will always uphold your privacy and I promise to do my best in every situation. I like to call myself an “over communicator” so I will always share details on your pet and I’m pretty good at taking pictures of fur babies too!

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
